Great video. Haven't touched Windows or Mac since 2014, but the last few years, I've gotten out of the desktop environments and into window managers and Arch and whatnot, and I've been wondering lately if I could parlay all the things I've been learning for fun into something useful. This video laid out clear considerations, a solid plan, and a structured regimen in under 10 minutes! No yelling, no selling, no rushing through, just plain talk. I appreciate the hell outta that. Saving this in my learning playlist!
Hello Tre, Thank you so much for your tips and guidance. I passed my Linux+ XKO 005 on last Thursday. My heartfelt appreciation and thanks for your content which helped temendously. Please keep on posting such amazing contents !!!!! Thanks and Regards, Mriganka
This test covers a huge amount of material. I studied on the side, 10 to 20 minutes per day, for 15 months. Practice tests are critical. I read a study guide cover-to-cover and did many of the exercises, I used Linux every day in my job as a software developer, and I did several practice tests. My advice is to get through a study guide quickly and then hit the practice tests hard, looking up any answers you don't know. The study guide will give you the understanding of all the subject matter so that you can understand and research the practice questions. I passed. Good luck!
8 months late, but great video man. I really took everything you explained into consideration. Being only with a short couple of years of Linux under my belt, I have been really craving this certification for a bit. I feel like with the tips and helpful info, I can take this thing and hopefully become certified. Wish me luck!
Im in college now, and ill be taking an intro to operating systems class on monday, im really nervous since you said the test was reallty hard, but i really hope i take the knowledge and retain in. I want to be a network administrator and get my foot in the door so i hope i can gain alot of knowledge from the class, also i seen they have the ITV-PRO for Linux as well so im glad you brought that up.
Gonna start studying for Linux+ now! But I’m also working on school and an internship and studying for CASP and PenTest beta exams. I wonder if I can still manage to pass the exam in August with no experience. I’m gonna try though!
Would you say this is a worthwhile certification if my goal is learning ethical hacking? I know Linux is incredibly important to know for hacking, but just at a glance Linux+ and the related courses seems more geared to SysAdmins than say general use.
Yes, Linux+ is designed for early-career Linux system administrators. It's not directly applicable for hacking, but the more you know about Linux, the better. This is a big test and takes a lot of time to prepare for. Consider whether there's something else which would be a more efficient use of your time.
Yes it has. More with the knowledge gained than the cert itself. Working in the cloud every thing is based off Linux. So it was very helpful in hindsight
I done failed this b***h 4 times already. I been labbing everyday with also hitting ITProTV,measureUp, ACloudguru, and couple of shots of sybex. I got 2wks til a nother retest but I don’t think that’s enough time (job forcing me). Im thinking about going full out sybex.
Congratulations Sir. You have my interest is peeked. I passed RedHat 7 a fews years back and want to touch up my skills. Were the questions RPM/debian based? Those books is HUGE, does it comes in electronic form (both)?
Thank you for video but i have a just one question if you answered my question I'll appreciated. I'm studying devops engineer but i'm not sure should or must i need COMPTIA Linux + certification ? or lpic 1 its enough ? Thank you again.
Bro hit me with the Baptist sermon rhyming at the beginning. Let's go.
😂

how do you study the books?. Did you choose a particular topic in it or did you actually go through everything in the book.

Does anyone recommend UDEMY for linux admin?
Good video bruh. Can tell me if the Linux + has helped your career in anyway. Thanks

Yes. It sounds like you are on the right path. Just keep searching around and reading forums. You’ll get there eventually
Does anyone have an idea of what the linux plus performance based questions are like?
Yo Uncle Tre. I just passed Unc. 738
Whoooooaaaaahhhhhh!!! Congratulations man!!!!!! Thats a big accomplishment....
@@UncleTreCSE yessir! Now I'm gonna go dye my hair back black. 👴🏿👴🏿👴🏿
@@LamiksVideos1 lol
Great to see you bro and congrats on the pass!! Any recommendations for network + in terms of video courses?
The best course that I took for network plus was Mike Myers on Udemy. Also Jason Dion has good training materials as well as Professor Messer
I used Alpha prep for practice test
Would you reccomend to take linux before security+
No. Sec plus first.
@@UncleTreCSE thank you
Hello, I only have CCNA, do you think is a must to have other certs before the Linux+? or at least study other Comptia Certs before go to the Linux+?
Congratulations Sir. You have my interest is peeked. I passed RedHat 7 a fews years back and want to touch up my skills.
Were the questions RPM/debian based?
Those books is HUGE, does it comes in electronic form (both)?
RHEL/CentOS/Fedora This is what the book focuses on. And yes you can go on Amazon and get a digital copy of the book. Good Luck!!
Just subbed
Thx you.
Did you take 004 or 005 & what practice tests did you use
I took 004. I used the practice test from the Sybex books
Thank you for video but i have a just one question if you answered my question I'll appreciated. I'm studying devops engineer but i'm not sure should or must i need COMPTIA Linux + certification ? or lpic 1 its enough ? Thank you again.
Go for the COMPTIA Linux plus. It will show that you have the foundation to use the LINUX CLI.
@@UncleTreCSE Thank you so much
@@EmreYetkin-ki4sd no problem
