You know I haven’t done woodcarving in years and if I was doing it now I definitely would have a UA-cam channel on it. Unfortunately I don’t have access to a shop or garage like I used to. You have a new subscriber and follower here! 👍⬆️🔔😊
Awesome, thank you!
Thank you and happy holidays! I love this video soooo much!!

We use Mineral Oil.
@@BeaverCraftTools thank you
What kind of wood is that?
This is Basswood, link to the blank: beavercrafttools.com/products/b1-spoon-carving-blank?_pos=1&_sid=6329d2b3a&_ss=r
That explains why it carved so easily.
Thanks for the idea. If you have an idea for a spoon, carve it in basswood first to make sure you like the design. 👍
A lot of hard work with just a knife on such a thick cut blank. A cheap axe would make life a lot easier. Also this video does not demonstrate safe cutting or show the various cutting techniques required for good carving
Why don't you make a video and show us
@@mitchellnader9877 There are many tutorials on UA-cam about spoon carving from people like @woodsmansfinest or @andreeagrad these people are far more experienced than me but I have learned to carve through watching their content
Or a band saw.
You can find many other videos with spoons on our channel.
Always wondered why these larger pieces of wood aren't secured in table clamps to make arm strain a bit easier. Thanks for wearing safety gloves !
