I started with breakcore. Not the modern kind though. I started with attempts at making something as hard as Alec Empire and Venetian Snares. It's been awhile since I've attempted anything like that and the funny thing that happened before getting into making music was me listening to Skrillex. Also, I'm just getting actually making dubstep/riddim, usually taking after Burial and Rusko, thus me getting more into the oldschool shit. The only nu-skool thing I've used in my dubstep/riddim was the UK/Brooklyn drill drum pattern, which is older than you think, like...before Chicago drill was even a thing.

I love how we can all agree that Fruity Dancer does absolutely nothing but it’s the GOAT. She the reason if the beat gets released or not. No lie I wish we had something for ableton like this.
Aussie here, absolutely love the music coming out of SA, from Amapiano to Gqom, shit’s fantastic! Even heard there’s a decent DnB scene over there. Quality mate
same i dont know how to do additive synthesis much, but the presets are great if youre going for nostalgia, they feel very vintage-y which is great since i like adding a touch of nostalgia as for sakura, its one of the best if youre trying to make slow-paced orchestra type songs, the bass presets also sound very accurate to real life basses
Drumpad is honestly goated. I have no idea what I'm doing in it half the time, but it literally lets you create your own drum sounds, from acoustic to all forms to electric. You gotta use a bunch of effects to get the best of it, but it's awesome.
@@zero111zero depends on what drum I'm tryna make. Usually I add a transient processor to control the attack/release, then I use other effects to taste.
Man, it's funny that I was developing a melody progression when I clicked on this video, and then because you used that track from P5 in the video I realized I was accidentally ripping it off. lmao.
Fruity envelope controller is actually really cool. You can trigger envelope with midi to automate anything. Especially it shows its own potential in patcher. 😮
Yooo don't sleep on the envelope controller or the keyboard controller. Very handy when used with plugins that don't have an ADSR if you don't wanna set up a patcher network. Also, I'm so glad you put harmor in S tier. I also used harmless to learn cuz I thought harmor was was too daunting... Still one of my goto synths simply because it's so INSANELY powerful.
Fruity video player is super usefull when making sound design for something such as an animated logo or videogame sfx. The dev send you the animation in mp4, you make the sound for it and have it synced up and the end result is a SFX that is perfectly alligned to the animation or video.
14:24 "This looks like a spaceship" My literal expression when I looked at Sines after purchasing. One of the best purchases ever and holy shit it reminded me of this video.
Harmor is sick because you can import an image into the synth to use as the sound generator - like have you ever wondered what a picture of your face sounded like? Well wonder no more!
Iiinteresting choice. The sawer is actually inspired by the soviet polyvoks synthesizer, while the poizone is the moog replica. I could swear on sawer it just sounds so so warm. Not sure how many people do make their own sounds but fl studio has a lot to offer for sound designers, sytrus and harmor are unbeatable. Only thing is that they can be sometimes annoying to use with all the menus and having to draw everything yourself.
Sytrus kinda gives me a headache to use, just cos personally it is pretty complicated, Harmor is easier for me, but when you get the hang of it, you can make some god tier sounds with it. Def goated
Fruity Scratcher and Wave Traveller have always been in FL Studio (well except early 12 on Mac). Wave Traveller is the instrument and Fruity Scratcher is the effect.
I love to use the soundfont player due to how fast and simple it is compared to Direct wave but don't be fooled by the low cpu cost because it quickly rise when you add effects to it. It can also be really realistic sounding when using high quality samples!
When I plan to get FL Studio, I would probably stick with other VSTs (though I feel like FLEX would assist me as well). Though hearing Fruity Kick and Slayer sounds like a challenge to me.
*_FLEX, my favorite stock poison. Harmor is my biggest confusion. Maybe I'm not tweaking enough, but Harmor has A LOT of stuff to figure. About the Volatge Controller. The warning is there because you can create DC offsets with this plugin and possibly damage your speakers. And speaking of speakers, If you played DOOM 2016, or heard about it, Mick Gordon, it's composer, used Harmor to put the Number of the Beast and the pentagram(upside down) into the spectrograph. Lookup Cyberdemon and run it through the spectrograph, you'll be shocked.
MIDI out is useful for controlling hardware synths, voltage controller is similar but for analogue/modular synths that use CV/gate - the latter only works if your audio interface can output CV/gate.
DIRECT WAVE IS NOT MENT FOR DOWNLOADED PRESENTS. ITS GREAT WHEN YOU HAVE LIKE 10 LAYERED SOUNDS IN LAYER PLUGIN AND EXPORT THEM AS DW INSTRUMENT - THAN YOU SEE HOW AWESOME THIS PLUGGIN IS 🤘💀🤘
This is super helpful. I’ve been trying to make sense of all the plugins and the problem is that their names are not very descriptive causing me to fumble around excessively.
If your list was "the most used plugins" it would go like: parametric EQ, limiter...stuff like that. I don't know if I have favorite synth but I have used MiniSynth a lot. I haven't used Sawer much for some reason but I intend to. And Harmor.
Fruity voltage Controller ist for analog eurorack or any analog synth Its a Basic high voltage click Sound.... You need to root it in top another audio Output and Connect the audiocable to an eurorack synth or volca sync in Yes you can destroy your speaker
There are just a ton of FL Studio synthesizers. I mainly use Flex because I am more familiar with the presets and User Interface, but I do meddle with the others when I want sounds that I know are in those plugins.
Systrus is such a beast - it's nice to manipulate the wave but when it comes to automation from inside the plugin there is one tool that beats systrus. serum.
Fruity Voltage Controller doesn't generate audio, it generates what's called "control voltage" (as long as you have an audio interface capable of doing so). It's essentially a way of controlling old analog and more current modular hardware synthesizers. On that note, Harmor is EXACTLY where it should be. You ever play around with resynthesis yet? I will agree that FL Kick is niche, but it's fantastic for quickly layering over an existing kick sample when you need a bit more "oomph"
