      Haha cheers buddy. Not much to them, just metal and a jack. Presses are simple too 😉🤣

    Very good. The clean and rust-free condition of the underpinnings is amazing. It looks like Audi actually made them too good for their own good.

      Audis back then were built to last. 10 quid for a new wheel bearing and an hour of my time and I'm back on the road. Cheers

    Can't believe how good the brake back plate was , here in the U.K. it would have probably been dust , nice work there !

      It's holding together very well! It is a Japanese import and some of the 4x4s we get are a bit rusty but the cars are usually like this. Cheers

      Badgertronix Gedore is a German Tool maker, very good quality. But there is also an Indian company using the same name so caution, to be honest the quality difference is like chalk and cheese and easily identified!
      Out of interest I have an Audi and always find it difficult finding parts, what parts supplier do you use? I’m in Christchurch.

    • @Badgertronix
      @Badgertronix  4 роки тому

      It was a $28 socket so I hope it's genuine! I use a few different suppliers. These bearings came from www.diycarserviceparts.co.uk and that's where I usually get filters from these days. $20 delivered was a great price. What Audi have you got? If you're ever stuck finding parts let me know and I can probably find them for you. I'm just north of Rangiora

      Badgertronix thx for that A4 B5 2.8 Quattro avant. Had it 17 years it’s more reliable now than it was in the first 5 years. Mechanical excellent but Audi never got the electronic stuff right. Do you know anyone who can change the pixilated screen in the instrument cluster ? I have the new screen!

    • @Badgertronix
      @Badgertronix  4 роки тому

      I used to have the tools to do that but not anymore. Get Electronics on Ferry Road do them apparently but I've never used them. B5 is when all of the electronic gremlins started to creep in

    Gedore tools are German and make excellent tools, I'd rate them better than Snap-on, they save on the marketing so they're a little cheaper. Hazet are another German brand worth looking out for.
    Nice job, I'm going to get someone else to to the wheel bearing on my C3 100 as it's also noisy.
    Don't have a press and there's only so far a BFH will take you.

    • @Badgertronix
      @Badgertronix  4 роки тому +1

      Excellent, good to know. It felt like a quality socket but I'd never heard of them.
      Thanks, I have done a whole bearing with a BFH but it wasn't much fun. Cheers!

    Could this job be done with one of them wheel bearing press kits off ebay and a bench vice or i am better off with a hydraulic press? If the latter where did you get yours from?

    • @Badgertronix
      @Badgertronix  4 роки тому +1

      Probably, but I've never used one. My press came from Supercheap Auto. Cheers

    • @volvos60bloke

      I tried with a wheel bearing press kit off ebay and a bench vice recently, I had no chance and ended up dremelling out the remains of the bearing. You need a big press like Badgertronix has.
