    7:10 A child born on a ship usually has their place of birth listed as "At Sea" on their birth certificate. Then the question of what citizenship/nationality the baby has gets a little more complicated. For nations which have "jus sanguinis" (right of blood) citizenship, babies inherit their parents' citizenship regardless of where they are born; in this case, the baby just inherits the mother's citizenship. Some nations have "jus soli" (right of soil) citizenship; in these cases, according to the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, vessels are territory of the nation under whose flag they sail. Unless the country in question has specific laws preventing the citizenship jus soli of children born on ships, the child could also be a citizen by right of soil of the ship's flag country.
    In almost all cases, the baby inherits the mother's citizenship, and possibly-but-not-necessarily the jus soli citizenship for the nation in whose water the ship is located or under whose flag the ship is registered.

      Does the baby get a passport on the boat? Probably not. In the US at least, and as far as I know this is the norm overall, citizens don't need to have a passport to re-enter their country as long as they can prove their citizenship; it's entering ANOTHER country where the passport is needed.
      Under this, I would expect that the baby is allowed to return with the mother under the combined proof of citizenship of the mother's passport and the birth certificate. Those two documents together prove that the baby is a citizen and can enter under citizenship rights. Then the baby would need to go through the normal channels to get a passport in order to enter another country in the future

      A further wrinkle: Countries which have signed the UN Convention on the Reduction of Statelessness take on an additional caveat. These signing countries agree to grant citizenship to any babies born on ships carrying their flag, IF the child would otherwise be stateless. So for example if a refugee mother gave birth on a boat flagged to Ireland (a signatory), then that baby gets automatic Irish citizenship regardless of all other factors, so that the baby has a state. As far as I know, this convention's language means that the signatory nations don't get to override it in this circumstance, so even though Ireland has other intricate laws about right-of-soil citizenship, the Convention on the Reduction of Statelessness takes precedence and the baby gets it anyway so that the baby has SOME citizenship of some kind and isn't completely stateless

      In general cruise ships don't allow pregnant women on the cruise because they don't have facilities to take care of babies. In this specific example however the 9-month cruise has the possibility that someone could board and then become pregnant onboard. So this is a unique circumstance

    Keep LSD/Acid on the terrifying spectrum friend. Because unless you get it from a trusted friend, bad LSD can kill you.

    • @littlesnowflakepunk855
      @littlesnowflakepunk855 8 місяців тому

      i dont think thats true unless you're getting shit that just straight up isnt actually lsd. as long as a test kit comes up good its basically impossible to overdose on lsd (albeit you'll probably have an extremely bad time if you take too much)

    • @hecarat
      @hecarat 8 місяців тому

      Boys and girls, always test your illegal drugs. You can buy various types of kits legally online and they reduce the likelihood of you dying in just such a way. When in doubt, keep it to suds and buds only. Stay safe!

    • @dboone7670
      @dboone7670 8 місяців тому

      LSD is just LSD. It's not going to kill you. But random drugs people sell as "LSD/acid" can for sure be deadly. Even if you trust your source, it's always a good idea to test any drugs you plan to put in your body.
