the gt5 is awesome because of the 4ws. but the best use of gt5 is the servo knobs. so you can independently steer the rear while steering the front at the same time. not a lot of transmitters have knobs so easily accessible

Parts:
-AX30437 Axial Wraith Long output
-AX30435 Axial Steel SCX outputs (this is because the wraith output isn’t threaded nor is the stock Capra side and a new hole center diameter)
-Robinson 1552 Wraith gear (brand isn’t expressly important here but Robinson is available alone so easier). The reason for this is the Capra gear and Wraith/SCX outputs hole centers do not line up
-3mm x 15mm button head screws (see photo for where you use these, all other places use the stock screws)
-AXI232017 you only need 1 of the longer of the 2 females (additionally you can go with a longer driveshaft, brand is up to you)
Side note the Vanquish Incision Wraith outputs may work as well and replace both of the first 2 Axial parts but my local shop didn’t have them to test or even buy. Their weight might be slightly different but should be about the same.

Can you assign the four wheel steering options to a button so that they will cycle

On the GT5 radio, you have only channel 3 that is a physical button, but it has only an on/off option.
So this is what i did once i connected the rear servo to channel 3, the physical button became useless (not doing anything), only by cycling the menu, it did change the steering.
But, actually now it's connected to channel 5, ( addional wheel on the top of the servo), and now i control the steering separately, found it easier to handle.

Got a few questions on how you plugged the winch in and set that up

On the receiver , Once you connect it to channel 4, which a 3 position switch on the radio, then it worked automatically .
The overland winch doesn't require any additional controller. simply plug and play.

What BEC?

Stefan, i'm actually not using any BEC,
3BrothersRC steering servos and winch have a direct connection to the battery,
using a jst plug that connects to the balance connection in the battery.
so from lipo 3s i'm giving them directly 11.1V .

Spring pen mod in the rear desert lizards?

The desert lizards come with internal spring set, so no need for a spring from a pen,
The mod i did, was adding spring cabs and external losi t-springs with oil.
