Andonstar-- Desolder/Remove Multi-pins Through Hole Sockets and Components

  • We often worry about desoldering multi-pin components. This kind of component is very difficult to handle and takes a lot of time and patience.
We tried using a hot air rework station, a soldering iron, and a desoldering braid, but we couldn't remove it. But we finally found that the best way was to use copper wire so that the component could be removed quickly.
The other method is to remove the plastic parts and then remove them one by one, heating them up and quickly pulling them out with tweezers.

Hakko FR301 is absolutely worth the money.

Why didn't you use a solder sucker (pump) and maybe some low-melt solder.

Hot air didn't work because of using the wrong nozzle. Hot air needs to be directed at all the pins at the same time. If you don't have the proper nozzle, you may be able to make one out of aluminum foil. Just get a rectangular object that's the right shape, hold it next to the heat gun, and wrap a few layers of foil around it and the end of the gun. Then remove the object. You may need to secure the foil to the heat gun with kapton tape or a metal band clamp.

"cooper wire" ? Slip of the tongue I suspect. Hakko desoldering station is the ONLY way to go.

Oh, I'm sorry, I spelled it wrong, it should be "Copper wire".
