i remember he took over in philadelphia and the word was that sanchez was back on top the way we all saw it coming how it should have. the excitement was so much his jerseys were for that time a huge seller, i even got one because i believed in the hype. when it fell apart, i myself as an eagles fan was like, "what happened?"

Jets were coached by a coach who had very little grasp of modern nfl offense and placed behind o-line that was almost always bottom half of the league. He was no star and not worth the high pick, but the Jets failures during his tenure were less about Sanchez and more about the coaching and front office imo.

but YES AGREE on offense he was soooo lost and seem to not care bc his def would win him games like his daddy's bears'...
Disagree tho - Front Office got him some weapons like Plaxico and santonio holmes
So imo sanchez, just like you said, wasnt developed by a good qb program and tbh even wasn't THAT good.. Sanchez also just has alot placed on him very soon and also shouldn't have started right away, so much pressure in nyc alot was working against him

You didn't mention that the owner sabotaged Sanchez and the entire season in Year 4 in an attempt to save $1 million. Woody Johnson held off on firing OC Brian Schottenheimer until the end of January in the hopes that he wouldn't have to pay Schottenheimer. When that failed, they fired Schottenheimer anyway and then were somehow shocked to find that all of the best available offensive coordinators had been taken. So the Jets then had to draw from the bottom of the barrel and ended up hiring Tony Sparano...a guy who had zero experience as an OC or playcaller. The result was predictable..

He definitely gets meme’d on for the butt fumble. However, he was the QB for those back to back AFC championship runs. The Jets defense was a force back then also the game was played much differently than today. I think he was slightly above average at his best. A less polished version of Joe Flacco.

I am a Broncos Fan. When McDaniels was the most terrible coach the Broncos have ever had, I remember Sanchez was a franchise quarterback at such a young age and coaches said they wish they could have drafted him. McDaniels was fired and the Broncose being the second worse team tge previous year drafted Von Miller. During a Broncos game Miller injured Sanchez bad leading the Broncos to a victory. Sanchez was never the same guy after his injury. Like how RG III was not the same after his injury.

He honestly wasn’t that bad, people forget he started as a rookie which probably messed his progression up. Pete Carrol said he needed another year to develop but he didn’t listen, still he help lead his team to 2 straight AFC championship, and I know largely due to the defense but he never lossed those afc title games either. Also his one year starting for the eagles he did good despite not making the playoffs. I’ve seen way worse quarterbacks start for a couple years like rex grossman lol
