@@amazonrocks7349bro i also want to pirate them but i it feels weird pirating indie games, did you also have this „moral“ problem or do you just not care and download them anyways?
Not nearly as tedious as it has become with all these metroidvania games. Or honestly, insert your favorite genre, there is a fair number of each of them lately. I just can't understand when someone says "too many of this type of game" when most likely your favorite type has a ton of games coming out as well. Focus on those and please stop griping about the genres you don't like. Someone apparently does like them, and that is perfectly ok.
@suspiciouschair4887 He's probably fed up with watching those trailers, rather than the game itself. Many survival crafting games tend to look similar to each other(Cut some trees, mine some rocks, then build a house or whatever on the grassy field). So regardless of how fun the game actually is, trailers of those kind of games could be boring to watch for some people
Secret of Grindea, Buckshot Toilette, Crow Country, Another Crab's Treasure, Ender Magnolia: Bloom in The Mist, Minishoot' Adventure, Nine Sols, Animal Well.
Grindea was fun yeah. It is a game that isn't completely open, each new area is streamlined and who's main gimmick is to grind (if the name doesn't tip you off lol). Aside from card drops, everything else in the game can be quickly farmed by staying in one area and killing enemies on spawn since the rate of enemy spawning increases rapidly after a while and chain kills helps a lot. There is a map tracker to tell you how many obtainable items are left to farm in any given area (Chests, drops, cards, pets, fish), some are easier then others to get but honestly I didn't take more then 15 minutes to get any one low drop rate item. My only real complaint is that the difficulty isn't the most balanced, you can breeze through most of the game but a boss or side quest can be brutally difficult out no nowhere, the climb up the final dungeon and ESPECIALLY the true ending boss puts fromsoft to shame and the devs don't seem like they plan to lower the difficulty on them anytime soon. You can argue that's the point of end game fights, but there is a challenge and then there is what they cooked up.
I have been watching your channel for several years and I think you have one of the best as far as information on new games and you have a certain style of indie games you like that I like so it works. I have learned about a lot of new games, one that's my most anticipated is Nightmare Cops by the guys from Newgrounds.
Some good games on here for sure and I know things like this are subjective, but you left out what is, IMO, the GOTY to date... SKALD: Against the Black Priory. Game is a modern retro masterpiece.
How could I forget? Skald was on the tip of my tongue... definitely 100% should have been in this top list. I was thinking of revisiting Moonring also which came out last year and has such charming old school vibes also. Skald is awesome.
Thanks for this video! I would never have discovered Blazblue entropy effect without it! I'm not really into rogue-lite games, but this game is superb! Amazing art animations, extremely fluid combat, and very well polished game.
Ballatro is so addictive, i won in my first run in the third try just building a unbeliavable pair booster, just won the last blind with 2 hands of pair and it was hillarious
Minishoot Adventures really is an absolute gem. If anybody reading this is on the fence with regards to buying it, let me just say that, while enemies respawn on the overworld if you die, not only are they easy to just fly right past to get where you need to but there was not EVER a moment wher eI instead made sure to destroy every single one of them once again. The feeling of moving and shooting really is just _that_ good.
Plus, it can be 100% completed in 8-12 hours. The game has zero bloat and never overstays its welcome. I loved it. It took me back to gaming in the 16-bit era.
Selaco, Nine Sols, Ender Magnolia, Mullet Madjack, Minishoot Adventures and Touhou Ice Fairy all look very cool. Anger foot is another great indie game that should've made the list imo.
I had to stop your video 45 seconds in, to turn on my pc and purchase Secrets of Grindea. This game is right up my alley and your video is the first I am hearing of it. Thank you
planet crafter is such a good game, I would suggest everyone to try this game out if you like building structures / gatheringer see your atmosphere change etc its hard to describe but its so good.
Haha, I find it funny how i ended up back here, I suggested your channel to a friend group, as a source of consistent new finds, and then I slowly drifted away from game list channels on general, and now after almost 2 years, I asked them if they got a good game they are playing right now?, and I got linked this video.
Consider looking at Devil Blade, definitely the best shmup released in a while. Also it has a 412 positive and 2 negative reviews on steam which is an incredible ratio. it certainly should be on this list for sure.
If someone liked Blazblue there is another indie I can recommend: Astral Ascend. Nice roguelike with great combat mechanics and multiple characters that have multiple different weapons giving them even more variety.
added to my list: touhou hero of ice fairy, another crab's treasure, ender magnolia already have: palworld, blazblue entropy effect also gestalt steam & cinder finally came out!!! now my only long-awaited game left is hollow knight 2.
Manor Lords - Hard to look past this one as it's done the city/base-builder mix with RTS combat of units/individuals right at the top of it's genre and is so engrossing. Nine Sols - 2d souls-like with top in class in all the areas: Combat, Art, Movement. Animal Well - One of the best art presentations and exploration platformers I've seen anywhere with cool ecosystem and secrets. Again feels top in class in this sub-genre. I'd say the above 3 are easily going to be in Top 10 indie games of the year imho. But still for Bo: Path of The Teal Lotus, Wind Runners and more excellent looking indie games to come.
Grindea is one of the slowest games to develop ever. But slow and steady wins here. It’s kind of like the NMS of Indy beat em ups. It’s a real niche corner of gamedom but a good one.
Selaco took me like 30 hours to beat. I did play with the hardcore mode on though, which only allows saving at vending machines, so that's probably why.
Excellent quality video dude!!! Presentation is fantastic, & if you are NOT an english born & bred, then i hang my head in shame with your pronunciation!!!
Thank god , people finally realized that giving 5$ to a shitty 2D-3D RPG,Platformer or Side Scrolling game that is a carbon copy of 100.000 other "indie" games is NOT INDIE. Finally we get to see some real games .
Wow!! easy, relax, is June dude. Make this video when it's November, it will be a better option. There's still half a year left, xD. Focus in present, enjoy the games. Thx and bye.
Every time I watch one of your videos I end up with 3 more games in my wishlist
Yes, I agree. Every time I watch these videos I end up pirating some more to collection indeed.
Wow, you're really modest. It's often more than three for me.
@@amazonrocks7349bro i also want to pirate them but i it feels weird pirating indie games, did you also have this „moral“ problem or do you just not care and download them anyways?
I have like 500 games on my Wishlist now lol
actually true
Its starting to become really tedious with all these survival crafting games...

There’s lots of all genres… play the ones we like, appreciate the abundance!!
And souls-like
@@suspiciouschair4887You mean hollowlikes. True metroidvanias aren't super common imo.
Secret of Grindea, Buckshot Toilette, Crow Country, Another Crab's Treasure, Ender Magnolia: Bloom in The Mist, Minishoot' Adventure, Nine Sols, Animal Well.
I'm not sure when it came out, bur I have been playing (and enjoying) the hell out of Tainted Grail. Absolutely love it
"tuhtti tuhttifohr" 0:01 hahahaha
“Halo 2 meets Halo 3” definitely didn’t miss that gem of a Dunkey line 😂
;)
I just want to know where that meme came from and why for THAT game.

thank you for the links man
Your content is awesome. Thank you for making all of these videos. You've referred me to dozens of phenomenal games.
Some good games on here for sure and I know things like this are subjective, but you left out what is, IMO, the GOTY to date... SKALD: Against the Black Priory. Game is a modern retro masterpiece.
Thanks, I hadn’t heard about this one def going on wishlist

Game look awesome, a bit hard to see anything
Wow I just beat Ender lilies, Totaly didint know there was a nother one!! AWSOME Video!!!.
Thanks for this video! I would never have discovered Blazblue entropy effect without it! I'm not really into rogue-lite games, but this game is superb! Amazing art animations, extremely fluid combat, and very well polished game.
Bro, missing Turbo Kid!! Excellent metroidvania! And pixelart!
Great list! Glad to see minishoot on there - until now it's my favorite this year
Also, secret of grindea looks so great! Definitely have to check it out
Waiting for a console release for minishoot
Ballatro is so addictive, i won in my first run in the third try just building a unbeliavable pair booster, just won the last blind with 2 hands of pair and it was hillarious
Neoproxima was my biggest indie surprise this far.
Minishoot Adventures really is an absolute gem. Man I have never heard of some of these but I definitely added to wish list to check out lol.
1000xResist missing the list is sad. Its my favorite game of the year so far.
i love blazblue entropy effect so much and this is the first time i heard anyone talk about it before!
Amazing channel. I added like 10 games to my wishlist.
Absolutely love your videos! I recently purchased a handheld PC and have been diving into indie gaming and your videos have helped me so much!
This is the Way
seeing secrets of grindea in 2024 is crazy lmao
For me: Nine sols - Animal well - Blazeblue Entropy Effect - Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist
I'm happy for the devs of Palworld I wouldn't be surprise if the franchise expands outside of gaming. Rabbit and steel looks good to me!
I hope you never stop doing this kind of content.
This list is a great place to start filling your steam deck, great stuff.
Touhou Hero of Ice Fairy looks right up my alley. Might give Minishoot Adventures a shot as well.
Awe seeing crosscode mentioned in the first game on the list brought back pleasant memories, such a shame crosscode is still so underrated
For me it has to be Animal Well on #1. This game is mindblowing and so creative.
Nine Sols is my GOTY. Amazing game. Incredible boss fights and an excellent story.
Selaco, Nine Sols, Ender Magnolia, Mullet Madjack, Minishoot Adventures and Touhou Ice Fairy all look very cool.
Anger foot is another great indie game that should've made the list imo.
I really wanted this type of video.
Mullet Madjack is right up my alley.

I don’t know if you played every game but, I can at least tell you did your research. Awesome video and thank you
Blazblue is the only one.
Amazing list. Great year for indies.
I recommand a lot the game "Athenian Rhapsody". Also the game dev is quite... Good looking ahah 😊
this was a great list
Do best dlcs list please. Dunno which game has great dlc that I should revisit
Beautiful list of games❤
My favourites so far are Crypt Custodian, Mini Shot Adventures and Crow Country.
That Chinamen game looks pretty decent.

excelent choises, thanks for the video
Great ! Mid-year summary !
Consider looking at Devil Blade, definitely the best shmup released in a while. Also it has a 412 positive and 2 negative reviews on steam which is an incredible ratio. it certainly should be on this list for sure.
that game looks awesome (but is a remake)
Blazblue is the only sidescroller with anime-like artstyle that actually looks good (in my opinion)
If someone liked Blazblue there is another indie I can recommend: Astral Ascend. Nice roguelike with great combat mechanics and multiple characters that have multiple different weapons giving them even more variety.
🔥 Animal Well and Minishoot Adventures 🔥
One day I hope to be on one of those lists!
added to my list: touhou hero of ice fairy, another crab's treasure, ender magnolia
already have: palworld, blazblue entropy effect
also gestalt steam & cinder finally came out!!! now my only long-awaited game left is hollow knight 2.
ending with death to cronos was peak ngl
dang great list, only shock was Pepper Grinder didnt make the list.

As below forgot to mention Skald: The Black Priory is a must this half also as is the retro release trailer of it too !!
I second Nine Sols. Must-play for Hollow Knight fans.
hades 2 in first place is a WILD take
Grindea is one of the slowest games to develop ever. But slow and steady wins here. It’s kind of like the NMS of Indy beat em ups. It’s a real niche corner of gamedom but a good one.
Can we just talk about Duelists of Eden lol. I fell off a bit but i would argue its deserving of a spot none the less
you forgot "College Bowl" the game is better than EA Madden. "College Bowl" is a great Football game.
man i was waiting for this vid
I need to play Hades II already.
Which game is in the thumbnail?
Selaco took me like 30 hours to beat. I did play with the hardcore mode on though, which only allows saving at vending machines, so that's probably why.
my best games for the year are biomorph, morbius machine and cookie cutter
Love ur content
Minishoot Adventures is amazing
Lorelei And The Laser Eyes should be top 3 at least
Excellent quality video dude!!! Presentation is fantastic, & if you are NOT an english born & bred, then i hang my head in shame with your pronunciation!!!
Is there a reason that "Bo: Path of the Teal Lotus" isn't on there?
Personally, I quite like it and it ticks many of the same boxes as "Nine Sols".
Yo les recomiendo Gravity Circuit. Si eres fan de Mega Man, te va a gustar ;)
Ender Magnolia is a sequel to Ender Lilies!
Have you tried songs of conquest ? Im really craving some HoMM. Anyways, your top 7 is fantastic.
my backlog grows...
Knew about Songs of Conquest from one absolute lunatic who honestly made a pretty good pitch for it.
Ssethtzeentach.
Easy my best Indie game this year is Beyond Galaxyland
Its a shame secrets of grindea was not released on switch
Minishoot Adventures is excellent.
18:14 sekiro does not have a stamina meter, so the devs are correct.
Thanks.
It's a shame Nine Sols won't get a publisher for consoles due to the controversy of their previous game.
What was their previous game?
This did not aged well
Thank god , people finally realized that giving 5$ to a shitty 2D-3D RPG,Platformer or Side Scrolling game that is a carbon copy of 100.000 other "indie" games is NOT INDIE. Finally we get to see some real games .
chapters should have names!
Some games like Last Epoch made the list.. Wonder how when the game is lacking in so many aspects.
game name 23 and 16 and 5 and >?
Nine sols will be goty
Core keeper
Yeah
Wow!! easy, relax, is June dude. Make this video when it's November, it will be a better option. There's still half a year left, xD. Focus in present, enjoy the games. Thx and bye.
Selaco game of the year
Anger foot
25 + 23 +18 💗
No list comment??
rabbit and steel is coop undertale
I don't see the appeal of bullet hell games. Seems stressful to me
Missing Spacebourne 2 and SCUM in my opinion.
1000x Resist goty
Balatro for me
for sure
What game is the thumbnail?
Songs of Conquest
