Hoyeon is cupid and she is invisible, she is not supposed to fall inlove and newjeans are the angels watching her and making sure she doesn't fall in love but she does. At the end of this mv she is in the rain because she can finally feel it and then in the second Mv, she is happily with the guy but the angels are reporting her every move and at the end of the second mv, that man shows up, and changes the guys memory to make him believe he has been making all the memories with another woman and he makes hoyeon cupid again “Cool With You” portrays the Roman/Greek mythological love story of “Cupid and Psyche” but instead of Cupid being a "he" they made him a "she" (played by Hoyeon). p.s. I found this under other reactions because I didn't want to type all of it love the reaction tho💛
yes correct but very rushed lol so let me add more context... Main girl is cupid who falls for human psyche... her shedding her clothes in the rain is symbolic of her giving up her divinity and becoming human so she can be with psyche... newjeans arent 'angels' but actually represent the 9 muses who sing and dance around cupid in greek mythology... they watch cupid but never intervene.... however its likely they report cupids forbidden shenanigans to cupids mother (in this videos case gender reversal father) Aphrodite who takes action and reverts cupid back to her invisible divine form and makes psyche forget about her and fall for someone else.. the ending shows her going to see the muses because shes mad at them but she cant do anything now except go back to working as cupid.
get up is literally my favorite thing newjeans has ever done. i wish we had a longer version

she is the cupid and the newjeans are the angels watching her, cupids are not supposed to fall in love but she did.
Hoyeon (from Squid Games) is Cupid and she's not supposed to fall in love herself. NewJeans is watching over her and Tony Leung (a legend in Asian cinema since the '80s and also starred in Marvel's Shang-Chi as the dad, the antagonist "The Mandarin") went down to set things back to normal by fixing what Hoyeon did.

Cupid relinquishes her Godly powers by shedding her clothing (now able to feel the rain) NewJeans are the Fates, Muses Nymphs that always accompany Cupid and his mother Aphrodite (played by Tony Leung as cupids dad) Aphrodite forbids the union yet Cupid defies her order. Married Psyche but after a year or so of Weddid Bliss Aphrodite has had enough (also the matches Cupid makes before falling in love, all start to crumble) And Makes Psyche fall in love with another Mortal & Forcing Cupid back to Spreading Love (but never having it )
This is pretty much like Nicolas Cage movie City of Angels from 1998 about a dark cupid angel who abandoned its entity just to live and beloved like human beings. But it also comes with consequences.

If you know Greek mythology it's literally 2+2, the painting of an Eros and Psyche at the museum and if you saw Hercules then yk the little sirens that go around the godlike characters telling them what to do or singing about the situation and how main characters feels

another great newjeans song is ditto if you haven’t reacted to that yet! ( the song was so popular but it also has a side A and side B so it won’t be any less confusing then this song😭) Also Gods by newjeans! It was a league of legends collab and it’s a different type of song from them! Hurt is another great song that’s mostly a slow vocal song if you wanted a different song too! All are so good and happy you like newjeans songs so much!!
I love the way they make this song and made NewJeans anti-mainstream girl group in Kpop. They brought the 90's indie disco which i like they brought out the concept
