This is my first liked comment ever!! Thanks bros! Hey I'm looking to get into freelance professional photography. Mostly photos but I'd like to be able to shoot great video if need be. Should I go for a7s or a7ii since they are both around the same price. I like the a7s for the high iso but the in body image stabilization on the a7ii sounds like it would a must have for a guy with shaky hands.
In-body IS is great if you are planning to shoot a lot of handheld footage. But if you have a tripod or even a shoulder rig, a lack of IS certainly won't destroy the image. We chose the a7s almost exclusively for its low light performance. It basically opened the doors to shooting night exteriors without having to bring in a flood light to bump up exposure. Six and two threes, really. Either will give you a stellar image for the price. I'd personally go with the A7s because I love shooting night scenes.
For naturalistic video and documentary with a lot of people recording, do you think is better an A7S or a G7? I mean, G7 is sharper in 4k, and, how I can rec 4k with a7s?
We have never shot with the G7 but I have heard good things. One thing I would say about the A7s is that it can shoot in any shooting situation, and it may not be in 4K, but the sharpness will beat the sharpness of the G7 in low light.
that was a very informative video. thank you! the A7s is now less than 1000 euro for the body. I only have crop lenses and for example the expensive zeiss 24mm F1.8. So how does a7s crop does in low light? is there much difference in crop vs full frame mode? I also have a sony A6000 and a FS100. But I like the look of the A6000 more.
The crop mode works really well in low light. Honestly, I can't see much difference between the full frame and crop mode because the A7s is so bloody sharp! We use crop mode for some of our EF-S lenses and the image quality is still really great.
Great video. Thanks! Have you tried any external recorder for 4k out of the A7s? In other words, replace the monitor with a recorder/monitor... That would be a good review. BTW, I use and love an A7s. Great tool, I think. Keep up the good job!

Most definitely. I think the one thing which now lets this camera down is the fact its only 1080p in camera. So a Ninja V will certainly get it back up to today's standard. We actually just got a film with this camera, if you wanna see more examples: ua-cam.com/video/fX8A0ZwSoYA/v-deo.html

@@dylan-nguyen thanks for your thoopa quick reaction! I indeed settled with two rokinon cines :))) i am very happy! :p cant wait to unwrap those bois. For a total of 818 euros i think thats nice glass for the cash
The Rokinon lenses are a great option, you'll get a good looking image with them. We use a lot of old vintage lenses from still cameras. They have there own look to them, but we like them. Here is a video we made about the ones we use, in fact since then we have collected a few more so we will be updating it soon - ua-cam.com/video/OnRhaOmHaZA/v-deo.html
Thank you!!
No problem Will!
I love my GH5 :-)
Se ainda tiver esse setup, me venda por favor 🥲
how bout the AF?is it any good?
We don't have any native Sony lenses so we haven't even tried it. We tend to avoid auto focus when shooting a film.
What lens is this video shot with??
We usually use a few lenses, so I'm not sure which we used exactly. But we have a video on our most used lenses which you can find here: ua-cam.com/video/fIhoSkMqdZI/v-deo.html
@@TheFilmLook Thank you!
Saludos
Sony α7S vs a7iii, which one is good?
They are both great
Had it, sold it. Soft image sensor. You can soften a detailed image with great results but the other way round is a definite no no.
@facelessninetytwo aka Man of the Rain I politely disagree but then it takes many to make a world.
what is this video recorded with ???????
Another Sony a7s haha
...woot woot 😬
Good vid. Subbed.
Thanks :)
@thefilmlook do you think it will work to upgrade the quality of the footage on my videos... can you check out the video style i make...
Man I have the sony a7s but my shots aren't as clean as yours!!
We feed the camera LOT of light to keep the ISO down to a minimum.
You speak like the Tech Spurt guy.
He's definitely from the North East of England like we are :) it's a pretty strong accent!
this camera is so cheap too bad it doesnt have 4k D:
True, but 4K does not improve storytelling. The quality of the image you get from this camera is up there with the best and it is very cheap now.
Where do you recommend to buy it from? Because I'm not sure what would you class as cheap because most places I've looked it's still expensive
But it does have 4k
