Just found your channel. Listening to this judge was so enlightening. Especially when talking about Gabapentin. I take quite a bit of it for my Rheumatoid Arthritis and Fibromyalgia. This explains SO MUCH of my world. Ok back to the interview with the judge.
Thank you for the information and tips. I wish judges could take into consideration that some people have very little to no income and no health insurance, plus not all states have expanded Medicaid, so getting decent medical care much less mental health help is not possible. My state is one of the highest for very little access to mental health services without insurance.
@31:34 Symptom: walking into people and things & inability to drive . because I can’t see out of the left half of each eye. Thanks. Will keep it simple and in normal people speak
I had a voice-mail today from someone claiming they tried to deliver important paper work and wanted to set up a time from me to receive paper . They didnt claim to b fedex, ups , police, or a process server . Is this somthing ssa investigators would do? Making phone calls to claiments? Thank you.
One of the points I get from this is, you have people with no medical training telling people how disabled they are. My Doctor has said I was disabled 10+ years ago and I have been denied twice. Third hearing coming up.
Interested in what is the best way to get started with my disability claim. Are places such as Atticus that farm you out to an atty office, are they worth using or what is the best way to determine how to get aligned with an atty? I am in WIsconsin if that is important.
This is a great question! I think the first thing to ask yourself is what do you expect from your attorney or law firm that you hire to represent you. I think if you can jot down a few notes on what you expect from your law frim and then ask them if they can meet your expectations. I think walking into any legal matter where you are hiring an attorney you should know what you want from your lawyer. Some things to think about: communication style, frequency of communication between you and lawyer/law firm, help with forms, assignment of lawyer in-house vs. farming it out, etc. I also think it's important to be up front with the disability firm you're talking to and see if they can meet your expectations. We know we're not for everyone and for the sake of our clients and our firm we would rather figure that information out sooner vs. later. On a side note- you do not have to have a lawyer to start your disability claim. However, we always recommend that you have someone with experience help you fill out your application. I hope this helps. Thank you for the great quesiton.
It was a crucible for me because I went through a dramatic custody trial as a child. The poor judge felt terrible with me. Thankfully I finally listened to dad who told me I needed to get a lawyer. My medical records were all over the place. This helped me very much since my illness had a series of regression. It has only gotten worse over the years unfortunately.

Gabepentin is not a drug that should be used for extreme pain. It's an antiseruzure meds an will create kidney failure
I agree. Lists and talking points are valuable because people get nervous. You want to make sure you get it all out there.
Lists are also valuable because they are asking things that have taken place over the last 15 years. People can not remember what they ate yesterday.
Judge Dan is so sweet..
Thank you for doing this piece. Amongst the most valuable I have seen as a pending claimant

Age is very important!
How old are you? 60 and plus it's easier!
Under 49 it's difficult!
You need to see an out side firm to help you or you will most likely always denied
Good luck. Truth wins
