Thank you for being here. This vlog was mostly filmed two weeks ago and last week as my back progressively got worse. My last video ua-cam.com/video/--ngGHT0_AE/v-deo.htmlsi=kJSRQztiian-n-mj is an update for how we are doing this week. Slow and steady wins the race.🌻🌻😅

Thank you Jean This was last week and I have since become bed ridden so I had to rest. You are right- I can’t lift anything- any weight is unbearable. I got to the point I could not walk unassisted. I’m doing much better today after being laid out a week. Walking an moving with less pain thank goodness😅

I don’t know what you guys can eat in your house. However i love baked pasta sauce. Cherry tomato and colorful peppers with goat cheese or feta. Cover in salt and mild oil. Sit while it roasts and the pasta cooks. Blend and toss together. Also premade pesto and cold pasta with any veggies or cut up cheese is filling and delicious. Even if it’s just basil salt any nut and oil blended together. Man which mix stuffed in potatoes or a pepper is easy delicious and good for the fridge for another meal. Oatmeal can be sweet or savory and easy for older kids to help with. I don’t know if this will help but my mother has severe pancreatitis from a rare division that is technically a birth defect. She unfortunately also has severe mental and physical health problems and cannot function on her own. We try to help her when we can but she is hard. I wish she could give any tips for you but I think you are in a better place than she is. I do know we buy her healthy and low residue foods to help her body heal from her attacks. God bless hon from Iowa ❤

Thank you for sharing. That’s what I’m doing. I’m not playing around anymore. It’s been so painful. I have a whole chicken I thawed that I’m cooking today in the instapot and portioning and freezing the chicken for myself. My family can eat all the deer elk and cow they want. I can’t eat red meat- it’s awfully painful even when boiled. 🌻🌻🌻🌻

Thanks for the reminder!! I keep forgetting about that- I have a jar of 10 grains I got last year and it’s been sitting in a jar in a box with some other extra grains I don’t use as often. Easier than me adding a bunch of stuff together😅🌻🌻🌻

We get Kodiak cake mix from Costco super easy the kids could probably make there own pancakes just follow the directions on the box! You can also get some organic string cheese there for snacks! The Kirkland brand of peanut butter at Costco doesn’t have a lot of junk in it you could also flavor yogurt with that!

Thank you Mel!! Great ideas going in my list. We need to make a run to Costco!! I’ll have Aaron look today when he goes to town for the pancake mix. We have used that when I have babies and he’s the one cooking. I try to make it easy on him cause he has a lot on his shoulders when I drop the ball. He’s in school full time and he took over homeschooling and all my chores. The kids help a lot. I bet they can make their own- I need to put the older two in charge of that. 🌻🌻🌻

You are so welcome praying for you! You might need a couple of boxes there are three individual bags in each box of Kodiak Cake mix!
I know how it is to be in pain and as mothers we feel we are supposed to be superwomen but that’s not very realistic! Only one Man from the Bible was perfect! We all are striving every day! But time is something that not all of us get! Enjoy this time with your kids! I think there is always something to regret In life but Maybe this is something that will bring you closer to your family and God! I know I don’t have much time to really get in Gods word these days (littles at home) but I am saying all of this because I need to hear it too encouraging each other in motherhood is a blessing to all of us! Blessings this holiday season Mel

You asked for ideas on easy meals. Could you order a meal box like Factor? They are ready made meals you could just warm up? The other thought is to contact meals on wheels and see if they can deliver meals for the kids for a few weeks. Praying for healing for you both so you can have a pain free holiday.

Do less ingredient overnight oats for now. Oats, pumpkin puree, pumpkin spice and milk or yogurt. Ready made mashed potatoes from the store with Air fryer chicken. Cheese slices, summer sausage on crackers with already prepped carrots, celery and some fruit for lunch.

Katie, don't know if you know, but full fat yogurt has less sugar than low fat or non fat. As the fat is removed, sugar is added to improve the taste.

I read something this morning that reminded me of a scripture exodus 3:7, Unquestionably I have seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt, and I have heard their outcry as a result of those who drive then to work, BECAUSE I well know the pains they suffer. Just want to assure you that God knows your personal suffering, he hears your prayers, deeply concerned for you and your family. Always enjoy your videos!

Thank you Jen. God has placed a few angels in front of me on this journey both through this channel and in everyday life. I was alone in the ER and a woman helped me get to the bathroom. She then prayed over me and sat with me holding my hand as I cried in pain and frustration. Another woman approached me in a store when I was getting medicine- she saw I was struggling so she prayed over me. God shows me everyday that he is walking with me through this. I am faithful.🌻🌻🌻🌻

Thank you for sharing that verse. This is another one that came to my attention
Matthew 6:25-26 - Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?

A really quick and cheap corn chowder i make is equal parts canned 🌽 corn, cream 🌽, then cubed potatoes either frozen or canned i use one can of potatoes for every two cans of corn. I used dehydrated onions but you can use fresh onions or both then in the slow cooker add the canned corn for your family i would do at least 4 of each do not drain the corn. I do drain the potatoes. I add salt and pepper you have to add pepper all the way through. At the end i add evaorated whole milk one for every 4 cans. I garnish with Turkey bacon bits if you have regular bacon you could cook your onions in its fat. I make broccoli cheese soup easy in the slow cooker to two pounds of frozen broccoli 🥦 i use the pieces and save the florets for later. I use dehydrated onions, dehydrated soup veggies, chicken broth to cover1/4-1/2 teaspoon, white pepper, 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard, 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg, I use knorr bouillon for salt, 1 teaspoon garlic 🧄 powder, 1/2 🧅 powder. After it has slow cooked 4-6 hours on low. i take my hamburger masher and mash them. i add two pounds of florets or pieces. After they are warmed through I add two -three cans of evaporated milk and Cabot Seriously sharp white cheddar 🧀 I live in Vermont but any white sharp or any sharp cheddar cheese.

Dear Katie, please know I say this in love and from the prompting of the Holy Spirit. I know the desperation that comes from chronic pain. I know desperately wanting to feel better and sometimes to just want to be able to function. There is nothing wrong with wanting healing and praying for the wisdom on how to heal our bodies. Sometimes pain isn't for us, sometimes it's to bring others to our Saviour. Sometimes it is for us, to draw us closer to Him. Our children see this, it could bring them to Christ or deepen their relationship with Him. Please be careful with New Age promoters. They will draw you away from God because they are teaching a counterfeit. Yes, stay hopeful but draw that hope from the Lord. I grow weary at times but I know that the sufferings in this world will be nothing compared to the glory of God in heaven. It will all be worth it if we just persevere with the Lord. Stay on the straight and narrow path dear sister and know that His grace is sufficient for you. Much love and prayers for you. ❤

Also getting a cast iron super hot and using plain sourdough starter as a pizza crust works so fast to make a healthy pizza at home! Farmhouse on Boone has the crust “recipe” in more details. It is so good especially a day or two later I hope you feel better the only thing I forgot was I like to add a little butter to my corn chowder when I have it and sometimes to the broccoli soup but always the corn chowder. The soup would be a easy one for your kids to learn because I was 8-9 when my mom taught me to make the corn chowder. The broccoli I made because I love Panera bread and it is so expensive. That and I love chicken salad that is a easy make ahead meal to. So is Mac Cheese either boxed or homemade also a big thing of what we called chop suey with beef, tomato sauce and whatever veggies or you could make chili make and add beans. Coul even freeze the extra sauce to make another meal but would be a dump and go meal.

I haven't been able to find cuties in my area since 2020. I'm so jelly...

Really? They are abundant this time of year. Kids love them. Such an easy snack. Those two bags were gone in 2 days.😅🌻🌻🌻

We've been getting a different brand in our area since. They look like the cuties, but are tart and bitter.

Thank you Tonya🥰 We do 2 pinches of salt in a quart jar, probably a tablespoon of lime juice and 1/4cup pineapple juice to soda water. 🌻🌻🌻🌻

Depending on convenience.. would some of those weekly " box" meals like dinerly ( less expensive) hello fresh, or others, help? ( Hello Sponsors out there!!) I have wanted to try water kefir. Have you tried that?

I will look into those subscriptions and see if I can get an affiliate deal. I’m so thankful for all the canned foods I put away- reheat and eat with the canned meat and veg- but my canned food shelf is dwindling fast😅I love water kefir. I used to make it and have a video about it on here but I killed my grains😩

Thank you🌻🌻🌻 I have been forced to fast and do a liquid diet multiple times this year because of my pancreas pain. I’m back on liquid diet again cause yesterday my pancreas acted up again. It’s been awful. I had to give in to narco yesterday because nothing else is working for the stomach pain. For my back I’m doing muscle relaxers since it’s locked up and spazzing so bad. Just as needed for both.😩

Have you tried pressure point work for your legs and butt. If you would like me to teach Erin and you how to do it let me know it’s not hard but it is very effective.

    • @RowesRising
      @RowesRising  8 місяців тому +1

As in acupressure? We are familiar with it but not with using it for back pain. I used to get acupressure in pregnancy to help flip my babies😅 I’d love any info you have for pressure points.

@@RowesRising similar but it is just using the palm of your hand.
If you can lay down on your tummy on your bed, Erin puts his hand with the ball part in the middle of your foot using gentle pressure then he moves up the back of your leg putting the ball of his hand on the next point which is where his fingers are holding that point for 20 seconds as he get up towards your glutes he turns his hand 30 degrees towards the outside moving to that point and coming up around the hips then down towards your sciatic point in the middle of you buttocks then go back down the same way. Doing it 3 times on each leg. Starting off gentle and using more pressure as you can handle. Finishing of with light massage to stimulate your lymphatic system. You can do this 2-3 times a day. Just use coconut oil as it is amazing for the skin and the do a warm foot soak with half a cup of magnesium and quarter cup of Apple cider vinegar. For at least half an hour or longer if possible.
      Hope this helps

@sharonpeta2390 thank you!!! And then I went and found the pressure points for pancreas 4 fingers under the knee cap and over type inches to find the tender spots that’s a pancreas point so I have been massaging that. I’ll try what you wrote too.

Crock pot/slow ccoker to the rescue. Google dump and go recipes. There are so many chicken tortillia soup, pasta dishes, usually just throw the meat in, let it cook and then throw the rest of the ingredients in.

Katie it's difficult to see you in so much pain. One thing that I have learned from being disabled and decades of dealing with pain - don't do anything standing up that you could be doing sitting down. Making the oats and cutting veggies come to mind. It can be awkward adjusting to sitting to chop or cut. Sometimes I set myself up at the dining table and other times I sit in my living room chair with a sturdy wooden board underneath the cutting board on my lap. Peeling is easy, just sit with a bowl on your lap and a discard bowl next to you if you need one. Never stand up to fold laundry or sort laundry. I even Swiffer sweep and mop the floor sitting on a piano stool. I have a comfortable, easy to move sitting stool in almost every room. As you go through your day try to ask yourself "Could I be doing this while sitting down?" If the answer is yes, taking a few minutes to set yourself up somewhere can really save your back.
    Edited to add:
If you don't have one get a shower chair! Do not stand up to shower. It's one of the most dangerous places in the home. I've only had one for a few years and how I wish someone had told me about this marvel long ago.

Thank you for all these tips. I do have a bar on my island I can sit at. I will bring in my chair and to that. I have a chair I take breaks in the corner of my kitchen but I didn’t thing to sit at the table to do these things. Sitting does hurt- my sacrum and sacral joints are so painful. But it helps to sit and rest the spasming muscles. Thanks for being here!! 🌻🌻🌻
