Love the project, just cringing slightly with putting in bolts with a drill, especially on full power. You’re bound to crack plastic at some point doing that.
with lining paper i start at top and work down hanging it horizontal......i also leave a 1/4 inch overlap in corner with the butt lap cut into corner to cover overlap below it...........i decorated my livingroom 30 years ago and done 2 layers of lining paper....first layer i hung vertically and 2nd horizontally ......the wallpaper on top came from jenners and was very expensive but worth it......had 30 years use from it and it will get another 30 yrs use :)) .......you may see a bit of it on one of my clips on my channel - its a red damask design.
There are three tanks above our flat. One for our flat and the the other two service the flats below. You are correct about the boiler. Our hot water was on mains but our cold water was still supplied by the tank. I was given some advice that I should "delete" our tank. So I have since bypassed our tank and it now sits empty. But I still need to worry about the other two.
Really interested in your journey. Im an Aussie expat, long term resident of Phnom Penh Cambodia. I'm just back from a month revisiting Scotland. I lived in Stirling in the early 80s and still miss it in some ways. Looking forward to following your progress.
Can i ask where u guys got ur lining paper from ive never seen paper that wide. Ive been on a decorating kick and this would be helpful hehe thanks keep up the good work.
We got our lining paper from Screwfix. We started with 1000mm when we did the cupboard but changed to the smaller rolls as it would more readily available and easier to manage.
Move to Edinburgh to live the picturesque life in granton.
Ha ha, yep living the dream 😀 thanks for watching ☺️

It’s a great flat plenty of potential
Once we got it back to a blank canvas, the potential was much easier to see too 😁 thanks for watching ☺️

I hadn’t thought of doing both ways with lining will try that on my next room project thanks fo posting that very helpful
The reason that there's so much wood chip in British houses is because it kind of camouflages imperfect walls 😊😊
Don’t think that tank in the attic is in use as you have a combi boiler and they don’t require them
