You will get it down! The first couple days are always a bit hectic 😅 Looking beautiful as always! 😊
Thank you! & thank you for watching! Day 2 and 3 were so much better! I was doing the most on day 1 😅🤭
You will do great as you learn how to work the systems! Wishing you the best
Hey Olivia! Thank you for your kind words and thank you for watching!
Hi! I’m an RN in the hospital looking to switch into urgent care. What are some roles as a RN in urgent care? How do RN roles differentiate between MAs and NP/PA/physicians at the outpatient clinic?
Hi Jenny! We do a little bit of everything…start IVs, ekgs, vaccines, tb skin tests, lab draws, sterilize instruments. This may vary for other urgent care centers but MAs cannot administer vaccines. They also can’t do IVs or push IV meds. I hope this helps!
I’ve worked in UC. Every place you work is very different. Some do IVs, some don’t. Some draw labs and run POC tests, some send their patients to a Phleb if the lab is onsite.
can you talk about the pay if you don't mind? im just curious if it's comparable to hospital pay bc the RNs at my hospital start pretty low at $23/hr so im like maybe i should consider working at a urgent care if the pay isn't even great at the hospital then might as well work in a less stressful, less high-stakes environment and get about the same pay. i kno different areas of the country have different cost of living but im curious what the pay is at yours
Hey Erin! Thanks for watching. The starting pay for this position was 23-26.00/hr in my area. I hope this helps!
What state do you live in?
@meeka59 Hi! sorry for the late response. I live in Texas.
omg how did you find a PRN job at a urgent care? Please share if you don't mind
Hi! They were looking for prn nurses. I wasn’t there long because they had low needs but I enjoyed it! It was very fast paced
Do you enjoy urgent care? I’m looking to switch from hospital to urgent care
Hi! I enjoyed working there! I enjoy working in the outpatient setting. I also practiced some of my clinical skills and liked that we were off most holidays!
Update?
How many PTO/vacation you get in a year by the way?
Hi Reginald! Im not sure! I only worked there prn!
@@mariaescamilla91 wow, part time also are allowed in urgent care clinics. Nice to know 😄
Yes! The requirement was to be available 2 shifts/month for prn!
