Thank you very much for making this! This was the only way I could find out if doing standalone setup has the options I need (turning off the LED and using different SSIDs for different frequencies).

I notice there's no recognition of mandatory clearances for power and comms cabling.
I have the UniFi AP AC Lite for ~ a year now and it *never* crashed, disconnected or slowed down :^)
Yes Unifi Ac lite although is the smallest of the series is really robust.
@@PoseidwnTech the only negative thing is that you can hear some coil whine while heavy load, but everything else is perfect :D
What are the speeds you are getting from the Lite?

Tried installing it with my phone and it gave me the above error message. The LED color is blue. What can be wrong?
In case the led is blue it means that the device is adopted. Try to forget device from controller and then configure it as standalone device from your mobile.

You can connect without scanning the qrcode but you need to have an existing wlan in the same network.

Hi I connected ap lan directly to service provider modem lan port ,I only getting internet in one device,and other devices connected to ap says no internet connection.some help here please do I need a extra switch ?
The lan port of the Access Point's POE Adapter must be plugged in a switch or a Router. If you connect to the Modem's port your PC will you have Internet?

After you setup UAP as standalone device you should be able to connect to that via the Unifi network app in your mobile over wifi (not QR code). If solid led is blue in the UAP everything should be k.

So this ac lite cannot work without being hard wired to your router?
If you have only one access point then yes it has to be wired!

Have you checked the connection between the Access Point and the Router? For example if you connect your laptop with the ethernet cable that you used to connect the Access Point will you have internet?

Can you connect more than one AP to the same network on the mobile app?
Yes you can configure multiple AP to the same networkk on the mobile app.

I use a ethernet CABLE to extend LAN connection for AP to a part of the house far away from the normal router. Will same SSID = same network?

Thanks for the video! This is exactly what I will do next weekend. One question: Can you give the 2G SSID and the 5G SSIS the same name? Or should they better be different names?
You can use same or different ssid names per band. It’s a matter of configuration. Since 5G is faster but has shorter range I would suggest using same ssid names, so your devices can take advantage of 5G when are closer but stays connected to the 2g network when are farther.

Tried to configure a NanoHD as a standalone with an iphone 12 and an old ipad same issue unable to join network. No option to configure as stand alone. It got a dhcp address from my firewall done the factory reset many times and everytime same error can't join network. Has a solid white light. I've got no wifi network to join....this will be the wifi network. Any ideas?
***FIXED***
My switch kept the old trunk port config in addition to the access port I set it up as for the AP. Once I removed the trunk config it took about 5 mins to setup. Slightly different options in the latest version of the app for setup like no standalone setup option. Thanks for this guide!

Αν δεν το ρυθμίσεις με τον UniFi Controller δε θα εκπέμπει κάποιο δίκτυο. Οπότε αν είναι το μοναδικό Access Point στο χώρο τότε από το κινητό σου άνοιξε την εφαρμογή UniFi Network και πάτα το + πάνω δεξιά. Θα αρχίσει να ξάχνει και δε θα βρει τίποτα, οπότε θα σου βγάλει την επιλογή "Connect to AP Manually". Τέλος θα πρέπει να σκανάρεις το QR Code που βρίσκεται στο πίσω μέρος της συσκευής (AP) και μετά να το ρυθμίσεις.

I am not sure that i understand your question. This is a wired Access Point so you have to connect it with a utp cable in order to work.

The yellow bar shows the utilization of each channel in %. So if the yellow bar is full means that this channel is used by many Access Points and you should not use it.

Hi, without a cxontroller, can I setup 2 or 3 stand alone APs just for extending coverge? but to have proper roaming between APs. I will run network to each AP, so not really looking for mesh, but rather 3 APs connected on same network, same SSID and proper roaming. THanks.
In our opinion it is better to download and use UniFi Network Application for Mac OS or Windows. You will open it and create a site for this installation in order to have all your Access Points there.
At 2.20mins what do you connect the POE to and is that connecting wirelessly to your modem?
The POE port goes to the Access Point and the Lan Port goes to your switch or router.
Nice video sir..i am from india and i used unifi AP..I have unifi acount and Unifi app to my mobile..And my office used netgear switch and unifi AP.. i have 4 AP and 1 netgear sw..so netgear sw connected to my building jio subscriber and then my 4 AP is connected to netgear sw..all setup is done..so how to configure the AP...Any licence is need to configure..please help me sir..i am waiting for reply sir
The switch you use should not affect the way you configure the APs. You should be able to find and configure APs through controller or unifi mobile app.

Are you using a power line adaptor to extend from your modem/router? So many videos show the AP being connected in the same space as the modem/router rather than in another space far from the hub. Help
This is a POE injector and it is used in order to give power in the UniFi Access Point. If you have a POE switch, you don't need a POE injector!
If you install the AP in this way, can you not create a guest network?

Yes this is normal. Default password and username is “ubnt”.
For me, the app also asks me to login. But the username and pwd like you suggest, is not working.
After entering “ubnt” as username and pwd, problem with logging in.
The accesspoint is working. That’s not the problem. But can not change stuff because i can not login.
Maybe somebody has an idea?

Excellent demonstration. One question, if there is an existing wifi network, do you use the existing networks SSID and password in the setup of the AP AC Lite?
Normally yes. If for example the installation is a Home it is very convinient to have one SSID. Be careful though, except the SSID and the password and the authentication must be the same. For example WPA2 for the new and the existing installation. Personally in my installations i avoid to mix access points from different manufacturers. Keep in mind that if you use UniFi Cloud Key (Controller) you will receive alerts for "Rogue Point detected" for the non UniFi Access Points.

Standalone procedure is only for basic configuration. For more advanced settings you will need UniFi Controller or a UniFi Cloud Key.
Thanks, having problem with my controller and was able to reset one of my WAPs with the app. Is there a way in the app to add more SSIDs? I do not see it.
No. When configuring an AP as standalone you can have one SSID for 2.4Ghz and one for 5Ghz.

In order to configure AP AC LIte 6 as mesh you need a unifi controller. This cannot be done via the application.

Can you see how many mb a device is using and what applications it is using with a standalone setup ?
In order to have such level of details you need unifi controller.

I had bad experience that the WiFi got disconnected in next room or downstairs.
There are several reason that may affect WiFi experience. In most of the cases the building walls and interference can cause poor experience. Please also have in mind that in case you need stronger signal strength you may use Unifi AP AC LR.

I have followed your video and got to the stage of taking a picture manually of the QR code on back of device, but it says its unable to connect to the network and remains solid white in colour, what could be wrong?
When scanning QR code in the back of the AP make sure you are not connected to the WiFi and you are under 4G

Hello . I need some help . I setup the Unifi WiFi setup at home more then a year ago using the Unifi controller . I had one AP Pro , one USG and the Unifi switch . Everything works perfectly till now . Now I want to add an extra AP Pro ACESS point . The problem is I forgot my Unifi password . I’m unable to add the new Unifi AP AC pro . Is there a way to fix this issue ? If I add the new AP Pro using the mobile App , will it get added to my existing account based on the same Wi-Fi network ? What’s the best way to resolve my issue ? Thanks in advance
In my opinion the best way is to reset all devices to factory default settings and reprogram them.

My favorite part was when my iPhone 6 Plus said 'This application requires iOS 14.0 or later.". Meanwhile, my iPhone 6 Plus can only update to iOS 12.5.5 and no further. Awesome.

This did not work. The app could not find it and the QR code was useless as it did nothing but try to put that number into Notes or do a web search. Useless.

I miss the old web based configuration of each device
To be honest we like the Centralized management. The Web based configuration in each device is nice when you have 1 or 2 devices but it will be a nightmare in a bigger installation with many devices.
