That engine sound brings back memories, I used to ride shotgun in these trucks every day. This one looks like the exact one I used the most which was for general waste and also a 2013 model with the rear single wheel axle at the front of the main rear axle, though yours does not seem to have that bracelet immobilizer system mine did.
6x2 used there with mid lift axle. Luckily the bracelet was only fitted to a few vehicles. The then new 70/71 plates didn't have it. Some of them also had a belt loop thing to contact the seat via thr left small of your back. Terrible
@@wheelerd02 Belt loop thing? I never saw one of those, I'm guessing it worked in a similar way to something I once used on a ride on mower which was a digital key hooked on my belt with what looked like a piece of telephone cord. All of ours had that bracelet setup which I suppose is a good idea in principle especially in some of the areas our rounds went to, absolute bloody nightmare as you're well aware though, even the ones on new 20 plate wagons were no better than the ones on the older trucks.
Can't see any reason why these wouldn't work over there. As long as the engines, drive train and payload capacity is specc'd up right I could see them being very successful over there.
@@wheelerd02 We use Romaquip recycling wagons where I work. They are DAF LF's. that's what you call cramped lol, luckily they have storage compartments to put your bags in on the side of the trucks.
Nice Alexander Dennis I like the sound I drive one of this some times on my job
Is your's using Volvo running gear?
Very interesting didn’t expect you to go down that side road
Mix it up and never let them guess your next move

What a great video! Could you film a video collecting general waste like you did with the garden waste ?
Keep an eye on uploads my guy
Please film a video of all the controls in a bin lorry
wow
I love this! I love them older Elite 2's. Do ye rather driving the Elite 2 or Elite 6 lorries better?
Elite 2 more responsive and immediate with its controls (plus louder, smokier and a crashy interior)
Elite 6 is safer and smoother
@@wheelerd02 Aw right, very good!
Nice job
Thank you
I heard these are being sold in America

@@wheelerd02 yep lol
Do these trucks use the same engine as an enviro 200?
I wouldn't have thought so, they are Volvo D8 6 cylinders with a green rocker cover
@@wheelerd02 naaa they don’t then
They kinda sound like the alxs when they start
Right hand drive like Tanzania
Amazing! What waste were you collecting when you drove this?
Black bins/general household waste
@@wheelerd02 Nice!
Nice Video. But why u wearing gloves in the car?
Saves on removing them also these vehicles are filthy so to preserve my hands and to eat food all driving and loading is undertaken in gloves
It's not a car It's a cab
@@adammotley7826 thought a cab is a Taxi 🤣
@@germangarbagetrucks8646 its a crew cab as in lorry cab
I thought these things were Vauxhall’s since they have the Vauxhall badge in my town
Alexander Dennis *Eagle* Elite, just a model mascot my guy
This engine could be great for a bus! 😁👍
Gave off a good note and a decent surge of torque
Same engine as Euro 3 tridents
The Dennis’s in Australia have a Cummings engine
@@hughsgarbagetrucks, oh nice! 😄👍
Is this an Elite 2 or 6?
6
Picks up speed really well for 20t+
Thats alot of space
In the cab? Not tremendous once loaders were on board. Hardly any space for bags etc "nothing to be stored behind the seats".
