Solar power company, BioSolar, launches its offices with Kevin Rudd.
Following a celebrity style green carpet tour, The Hon Kevin Rudd MP officially launched BioSolar's stylish new head office in Brisbane's Woolloongabba on May 20.
The cutting-edge solar power office, referred to by staff as the 'Google of the Gabba', features Brisbane's first raw foods café, a gym, yoga studio, cinema, living plant wall and graffiti art -- and it's just one part of BioSolar's story of success.
While many solar firms are closing after the reduction in government incentives, BioSolar today announced it has already achieved a turnover of $30 million this financial year and is selling a further $1 million a week in residential solar pv systems, all within 100kms of Brisbane.
As we see installers race to the bottom on price and quality, BioSolar today announced it's investing in creating Australia's highest performing solar power systems with an extensive research, development and quality control process.
BioSolar founder and managing director Leigh Storr said the company had been quietly achieving remarkable results in Queensland while helping Australians tackle climate change.
"BioSolar is a testament to the success of federal and state solar subsidy initiatives -- and what can happen when that's coupled with excellent strategy.
"We've now created 120 jobs for Queensland and are capable of not only surviving, but thriving regardless of whether incentives stay or go," said Storr.
Young entrepreneur Storr, aged 30, established BioSolar in Queensland in 2010 with a team of three staff.
His considered approach to business has seen the company attract significant investor support and recruit experienced executives who are leaders in their field.
Most importantly, it has seen the company experience 250% growth on its previous 12 months. However, Storr maintains that the real growth is still to come for BioSolar with a very optimistic outlook on the road ahead for Australian solar and a strategy to match.
Storr's enthusiasm for solar power is contagious and inspires all those he meets.
"I started BioSolar with a very specific vision and that has shaped the entire way we do business.
"Our vision is to be the leading provider of solar power systems in Australia and, to achieve that, we are committed to providing our customers with the best purchasing experience of their life," said Storr.
Continual advancements in product quality and organisational efficiencies coupled with the reality of skyrocketing electricity prices provides a progressive platform for the company's growth potential.
