For a social experiment, this only proves one thing. That people have become so accustomed to being treated like this that that they actually believe that that kind of action by law enforcement is lawful and not to be resisted in any way. The actions of this older gentleman who thought he was coming to the aid of the officer goes to show just how far the conditioning has gone. Had this been an actual event taking place, as far as the law would be concerned, this officers actions were in fact unlawful and a citizen would have the right under the law to effect a citizens arrest on the officer. Seeing this older gentleman act the way he did is heartbreaking. Clear case of Stockholm Syndrome.
It was the right and awful thing to arrest that Constable who stepped out of his oath and was assaulting an innocent man with no lawful excuse. Wake up people and educate yourself and the difference between legal and lawful. Even if this was a social experiment. The bus driver was not the hero he was the ignorant fool in this play
@Irigouis88 well if they have permission to film it, and permission to use police gear to film it (which you can get I’m pretty sure) then I don’t see an issue. Troll station did it a few years back, and the police stopped them but they had permission
EzioAuditore tbh police in America just point their gun at you..nothing else, no fine nothing. Also, if you look at the equipment the UK police use it’s more advance as the US are in debt to busy funding McDonalds than the LE.
Uganda's God in case you weren’t aware there are dangerous criminals in the world, and police interact with them frequently. Not everything is sunshine and rainbows!
Has been done in the US with a crooked cop in a low income area. He was known for assaulting teens stealing their drugs or money or jewelry and selling it for profit. Unrelated to that the cop was casing a store that cashed tax return checks and waited for someone. An elderly man though stupidly walks out with cash in hand was stopped and assaulted by the cop but the neighborhood wasn’t having it. People in cars and pedestrians alike tackled the cop gave him a few kicks for good measure and cuffed him. Ironically it still took cops over an hour to show up including IAD the cop was one of very few that actually was convicted and went to prison laughingly where the people he arrested were waiting on him.
If I witnessed this situation, I would have called the Police and filmed the incident. In no way would I lift a finger to help the officer in distress beyond making a phone call.
I know some Police Officers step out of line, but that is not always the case. For the people who say "Fuck the Police", just remember you may need to the Police's help one day.
Bullet 285, Fuck the police, I'd never call the pigs. Only time I would ever phone them is to not incriminate myself. Otherwise fuck pigs, hope they all get bombed by ISIS
The real rozzers turned up at the end of the clip...amazing how they always arrive in under two minutes when they think one of their own guys needs assistance.
mistofoles Of course they do. They rely on each other. Remember, they actively go out at night to look for the very people you lock your doors to keep out...
A call of "a man putting a police officer in handcuffs" is always going to get a fast response, for a start it doesn't sound right, and of course in this case is a prank but you have concerns for the safety of an assumed colleague. You strike me as the sort of person who expects a PC at your door within 10 minutes when you come home from holiday to find your car has been stolen sometime within the last week.... instead complaining that a 2 hour or the next day response time isn't "good enough", welcome to the real world my friend, policing on a budget, what do you expect? I see this all the time as it's my job.
That wouldn't happen in America, I've never seen a cop give up that quick. I could almost see that happening for real in Brittain where they don't pack weapons. They should carry guns like secretly incase they really need them.
Antonio Lombardi So you would you just give up and let anyone who's in a position of power screw you over? Take your family and torture them without any reason? Force you to give up all of your possessions? Make you pay thousands of extra dollars because you exist?

So me and my friend went to one of his "Favorite" Spots where he killed over 5 people in 4 weeks, we wore White T-Shirts with large RED BullsEye's On Them... Like Idiots. I think back and wish I could smack myself for being so stupid.
lmfao iwas about to write an in depth comment about how fake this shit is but as i was scrolling i saw TrollStation and instantly started laughing at myself for getting worked up over a troll.. 😂😂😂
I noticed something missing during this citizen's arrest. Shouldn't the citizen have brutalized the officer a bit, once he was on the ground? It didn't seem complete, without some unnecessary violence.
People give the video a thumbs down because it didn't meet their entertainment standards. They do not understand the point or the value of this social experiment. We have the right to defend our civil liberties. It is true that impersonating a policeman is a crime and should not be done but still, this video has been made and we should focus its point.
It is so interesting to see the cries from commenters that 'this is fake!' Should these people be allowed to reproduce? Also, I don't think this would happen in the U.S. We have more of a culture of Bully's Bully. The man would be jumped by one then five citizens for attacking a cop like that... unless it was a white cop and black citizens (regardless of perp color). But, I would probably not help a cop if I was black. It is strange to see a sea of white people and only one older fella coming it well after assault began.
That ending is wrong the cop actor saying thank you for helping me. This is the problem with law enforcement. People see them doing wrong and are scared to intervene and help the citizens. Cops brute the public to leave the scene when they are breaking the law.
Here's the problem, under UK law an officer must identify themselves, state clearly why they're stopping a person, and if the officer requests to search an individual and that person doesn't consent, the officer does not have the right to search that person anyways. Under Code A Subsection 2.10 and 2.11, an officer cannot detain a person for the purpose determining reasonable cause. Under sections 2.01-09 reasonable suspicion is defined. None of which was clearly present in this altercation. (www.gov.uk/government/publications/pace-code-a-2015) Section 24A of PACE(1984) states "Arrest without warrant: other persons (1)A person other than a constable may arrest without a warrant- (a)anyone who is in the act of committing an indictable offence; (b)anyone whom he has reasonable grounds for suspecting to be committing an indictable offence. (2)Where an indictable offence has been committed, a person other than a constable may arrest without a warrant- (a)anyone who is guilty of the offence; (b)anyone whom he has reasonable grounds for suspecting to be guilty of it." The man in this film who was being illegally detained and searched by the Constable had every legal right to do what he did.
Krist Martin. Pretty much everything you have written is incorrect. ‘Unless a person consents the officer doesn’t have the right to search the person’. Utter nonsense. It’s called a power of search, not a power to request. A police officer does not request the right to search. Grounds either exist to grant the power or they don’t. If an officer has those grounds, it’s a lawful search. As for your arguement that, as a search would not be lawful and so the chap would have been in his rights to arrest the officer. Rubbish. It does not fall into the criminal charter. As such, no power of arrest exists. Police powers also take precident when both are in play. You can copy and sections of PACE from a website, doesn’t mean the rest of your waffle isn’t nonsense.
Aang, wrong, please look up UK laws before posting again. I literally quoted the laws in questions. An officer may only pat you down if they suspect you might be carrying illegal drugs, weapons, or stolen goods. They do not have the express right to search you as the officer did in this video.
The only criminal offence here is impersonating a police officer which is not covered by Section 24A of PACE as it is not an indictable offence. Section 24A is a power of arrest legislation and not an offence. This is not the way anyone should act. The person does not need to consent to being searched. If the officer suspects that they have drugs on them as in this video, they would be detained for the purpose of the search and the officer can use reasonable force to enable that (the idiot in this video also said it was a "section 1 PACE" search when it would actually be Section 23 Misuse of Drugs Act search). If the person resists being searched then they can be arrested for Obstructing a Drugs Search. The more you know
There are limits in how an officer in the UK can reach "reasonable belief" of a crime to search someone for a Drugs, as an example, none of which was presented in the video. The Officer just walks up to some person on the street, not knowing who they are, not calling them by name, demands to search them and then claims post-facto while assaulting said person that it is because they suspect they have drugs. That is official misconduct by the officer. He clearly profiled the person, made assumptions about said person based on appearance, and violated his rights. In the UK a person has a right to defend themselves and use all reasonable force to subdue their assailant, including arrest, regardless of if that person is an officer or not. The guy acted appropriately in response to this officer, and it is exactly how I would have reacted in that same situation. The officer was confrontational, and didn't act as an officer should.
Easily seen as bulshit, cop put his hands behind his back before he was told to, plus the audios too good for the camera that's supposedly a cell phone so far away. Every time a vehicle goes by you can still hear the audio clear as day. These guys were clearly mic'd.
