My wife and I are loving your videos! Your attention to detail is a real pleasure to watch! We have miles and miles of sandpaper, if you have a PO box we would happily fill it up with free sandpaper!

Thank you both for watching! We are looking into a PO box soon and will take you up on that.

I find all of your videos oddly relaxing, there's something in the edit, maybe that mix between your brothers music and shop noises... I do not know but I love your work.
    Greetings from Spain.
    Keep em videos comin.

Really nice walkthrough! Next step could be maybe to place a wooden plate or similiar behind the bow, with horizontal lines on. This will make it easier to see which limb is stronger (bends the least) compared to the other limb.

Logcabinlooms has a great vid on using pine tar to preserve wood I think it would work well for the Tillering tree. Thank you for all your hard work.

Would love to make me own long bow one day in the process of building my workshop so hopefully soon I can get round to doing these sorts of cool projects.

Really enjoy your videos. One suggestion is to try a brad point bit for nice clean holes.

Was also wondering.. if the bow sits in that slot 1/2" from the face of the board but you draw the string back along the face of the board, aren't you inducing some twist to the limbs of the bow when you are tillering? seems like it should draw the string straight back in line with the center of the bow's limbs... I think the bow should mount our over the face you draw along.

I like that idea. It’s never seemed to make a difference, but it couldn’t hurt. 👍🏼

When you marked your 6" Mark where is that measured from? The base of the cutout where the handle would sit?

Usually you would measure from the outside face or back of the bow.

Cool going to adapt my tillering tree to something similar great job. My I suggest a 6 or 8” peace of broom handle on the end you pull stop the cord from biting into your hand??

100% a great idea😁. I’ve done almost exactly that since this vid.

With the bow positioned in the middle of the board and the string slightly off to the side, wouldn’t the bow have some kind of propeller twist introduced?

I’m not usually one to post things like this. And being on a three year old video it probably won’t be seen. But for saftey’s sake, that bowline knot is tied improperly. For what you’re using it for here, it’s not an issue. If you need that knot in a life saving situation, the one you tied can work it’s self out and collapse.

when you marked off your inch lines... I was not sure if you measured from the top of the tree or the bottom of the slot where the bow will rest. Do you measure bow draw from the hand where it meets the handle of the bow.. .or the back of the bow (the target facing side)?

High, i think, you need a Curry-clamp, something sailors use, for your bow-tool. Kindly Fiete

      That is genius! And I’m a sailor...why didn’t I think of that. 😂😂.

This is actually a more modern way of doing things even though it's a really old way of doing it lol. The first bows were done by eye or someone else would stand back and watch the other person pull the bow. That being said this is so much easier and you can do it on your own. From one craftsman to another, you did an amazing job Dustin. I am really enjoying your videos. Keep it up, you got my sub.
