I'm from Korea and it's interesting to see how people like the new SantaFe's design. I don't think it's that bad but most people in Korea aren't a huge fan of it. SantaFe's sales plummetted here and got caught up by Kia Sorento.

I like the Kia and Hyundai line-up though I have yet to test drive one of their Hybrid SUV vehicles. One thing that would be nice for you to mention especially with Hybrids is Fuel Economy, both what is claimed and what you have observed with your test vehicles.
I think the space between cars on the road should always be the length of a car or 2 depending on speed. You'll have no problem seeing those blinkers down there if that was the case. I'll be the guy and say I don't mind the blinkers on a lower position.
This. This is why the complaint is wrong IMO. having them down there encourages proper following distances, or at least the gap when stopped, and stylistically, it's different, so that's good too, despite the fact that I'd rather it be normal.
Yeah, I was going to say the same. The rule I was taught when learning to drive is that you should leave enough space to the car in front of you at a stop so that you could still see a tiny bit of road between your hood line and the bottom of the car in front. If you cannot see any pavement between you and the car in front of you, then you're too close. That is just a general rule though, since the length of your hood can vary, as well as how tall you are sitting in the driver's seat. lol
I would prefer they be integrated up high, but you are correct. Claiming that they can't be seen is ridiculous. You would have to be driving a bus and be VERY close to not see them. And hey, if you're driving a sports car, they should be right in your line of sight...lol!

The reason for the low signals is for Hyundai to comply with US DoT regs and do so with minimal redesign. In the States a brake light can only be a brake light and cannot flash also brake lights cannot be located on an opening panel such as an opening trunk. Euro specs signals are integrated up high with the brake lights and both diagonal bars contain the signals as well which is OK in Europe. When you open the hatch the brake light is divided therefore out of DoT spec. Mercedes has a feature on some of their cars where the brake lights flash quickly when applying heavy pedal pressure thereby alerting following drivers of a dangerous situation ahead. A brilliant safety measure as far as I am concerned! Because of the flashing brake light that feature is illegal as far as US DoT is concerned and not spec'd on US vehicles.
They seem to have made this for the slightly older crowd vs the Tucson. I have to disagree with the wheels though . I think they’re awful.
