Great video man, after watching this I purchased the Bass Jig you used and all I caught was Bass, fantastic. I was using the spoon before but that watermelon jig rules. + New Sub :)
Awesome, glad you found the video helpful. Those bass jigs will help ya down the line too ;) Thanks for the support and for subscribing. Much appreciated!
Thanks Jake! One of my new favorite games! I play on the PS4, and I gotta say this looks way better on your setup! I subbed to your channel, keep up the good work!
I'm just letting you all know what I've found, I'm using a Yellow with Red dots 1/4 oz spoon and if I do the Lift and Drop I get a bass on it every time. I figured I'd share the wealth.
fish bass with small minows .. no arm killing 1.5m deep for much heavier bass that you will catch with spons jugs and so on. You just need to find a good spot..so you just need to think where minows usualy are so don't throw on midle of the lake. Hope I help anyone and btw nice video Jake.
Thank you! I have plenty more fishing planet videos if you find yourself stuck on how to catch a particular fish on a particular lake. THank you for subscribing!
I once caught a spotted bass, in game, at lone star lake. It weighed 1.000 pounds even. And it gave me 77 dollars for that size spotted bass. So that means spotted bass are worth 77 dollars per pound.
Thanks jake , I'm lvl 13 ,new, just got fined being a noob, your videos are great I'm subscribed, I'm on ps4,but I'll be checking out all your vids as I progress
I have the same bass jig you have and I use the same method but I always get bites but I can't possibly set the hook but my character every 10th cast might set the hook automatically but when I use the other methods and lures I get those bites and a bunch of crappies
Thanks Jake! You helped me fall in love with this game!! So much more fun when you're catching fish! The Pickerel at Mudwater video is Excellent Too! Anyone that says Mudwater is a waste of time/money just doesn't know what theye doing I made over 6 Grand a DAY on pike at Mudwater(44lb stringer) fishing left of the rock....
Very informative, well researched, and youre enjoyable to listen to. Im really looking forward to fishing in Florida for trophy Bass and especially Michigan because that where Im from. I want a Northern Pike sooo bad...lol
You really need at least the 44-55lb stringer or the largest keep net you can afford and upgrade it asap!!, casting spoons all colors, I like the 1/4 Oz 1/0 gold, silver, yellow, and red devil spoons and the black/purple and blue/silver nanotechnology spoons, at least 4#, I use 6# mono line, slow and steady retrieve, varying speeds (low), and casting from either side of the bridge about 30-100+ yards out, let it hit bottom before you start reeling, cast about anywhere left to right both side of bridge. FOR Pickerel...Using the same lures, same spots, but changing reeling action to stop and go letting the lure drag the bottom but try to let it stop just long enough to get your line to slack and snapping it up in short bursts one or two cranks then stop, let slack, repeat working the bottom. They hit light, you might think it's a snag at first but nail it, set the hook, and have Fun! Between the bass and pike, with a 44lb stringer for ONE Day fishing Only during PEAK times with premium acct., made almost 6 Grand! Use bigger keep net releasing the smaller ones to make room for the money makers and you could make 10+GRAND(?more?) in a day. Have fun!! FYI, always check youtube for guide for whatever place you want to go and set up accordingly while at Home before leaving for the trip. Fast forwarding to just before peak times will help you spend your real life time more effectively while on a trip.
In game time doest advance when you're at the inventory/map screen. So, don't waste time standing down by the water while you're preoccupied. Reel in, then go to map screen so you don't waste peak fishing time.
i am a newbie and found this a great video. i bought the grub lure and the casting spoon. i caught immediately with the casting spoon but can't equip the grub. How to do this please
How about bait casting? What's a good depth to have your line and what sort of bait? I myself have had some success at around 55" with crickets but do you know anything that I wouldn't?
Ok thanks for the feedback, I did some trial and error the other day and had some fair success with crickets and minnows at 55/60" got mostly bass and some pickerel's, same with the spoon bait I had more pickerel's go after that than I expected.
I don't understand it. I am using the same tactics as you but I don't catch any fish at all, I've tried slow retrieve fast retrieve. nothing works and I'm really getting pissed about it
How are you reeling in the bass so quickly when you catch them? Does it get easier when your level goes up? It seems like when I hook one I have to fight against them for 15-20 mins in real life before I can get them. I’m level 6.
I’m on PS4. I use the level 6 casting rod, the first casting reel, .005 4 lb test braided line, and 1/4 #1/0 casting spoons wide not narrow. How good a setup is that for level 7?
Depends on the type of fish you are trying to land. If you're going for spotted bass, I would bump the line up to 6 lb test, if you have it available to you.
im on pc and have same problem. Also using same weight lure and lowest speed it keep coming to the top i have to stop railing to make it sink many times. any one solve that problem?
Spotted bass, young channel cats, smallmouth buffallo....those are all possibilities that could break 4 pound line. Keep in mind that its not just the weight of the fish that matters, but how much force and strength they put on the line when fighting.
I'm really not sure about that. Is she new to the game? I think new players get a free 7 day Premium account (I did). If so, that would explain why she's getting more money for the same size fish.
Motocross 727 slow straight technique. Let it hit bottom after you cast make sure it stays on the bottom. Try varying your reeling speed to see how it pulls the lure (all different). Watch your depth/other gauges rather than out where your line is. The gauges will tell you exactly what your lure is doing. Using the pro gauge doesnt make the game any harder, but the triple gauge setup is far more superior is helping you know whats going on. Kinda like extra gauges in racecars. More info, more fine tuning. Make sure you're using optimal weight lure for your setup,
Jake, have you experienced fishing "dry" a certain 'spot' or hole? Like, one day at peak, I can hit in around the same area, varying lures, all thru peak and hit fish about 75% of the time. The next day, same spot, same lures/technique, almost nothing.
Ah...now worries bud. If you're new to the game, I have plenty of "how-to" videos for Fishing Planet that may help if you get stuck. Thanks for the feedback and good luck out there!
Fishing during peak hours may help. They may have made some changes after the recent update, as I've found it a bit more difficult to catch the spotted bass myself these past few days.
Use the right rod about 9lb with 6-9lb line/wincast 2500 .. use the mini bass jig or standard blue bass jig, go to map fast forwatd time to around 12 .. when its prime time, fish close to the lilly pads like real bass fishing, i have a 33lb stringer and i bag out in half an hr everytime .. no need to change your jig like he says .. bass jig is the best for this, cast two or three returns one spot, change two or three returns repeat, i find the best spots are, stand middle of bridge look lilly pad side, youll notice a lane down the middle going directly between lilly pads, a hole to the right between the lilly pads, and a hole to the left between lilly pads .. imo i catch 2 pound plus there, once lilly pad side slows down spin around .. cast left side of open water along the edge, then right .. then middle/open water .. back to lilly pads rinse and repeat, keep using bass jig .. my catch rate using this method is 1/3 1/6 cast rate, dont use stop and go method like he is using slows you down .. its not enticing enough for fish, instead twitch 50% of the time & alternate between number 1 slow retrieve & number two slow retrieve, also keep an eye out on the actual water aswell as the bars on right side youll sometimes see a break at the surface for a second or two with the bars going up slightly .. the bass missed the lure .. in this case cast past the bass and follow the same retrieve pattern with a number 1 slow retrieve 7 times out if ten youll get him in two or three passes as you now know hes there playing hard to get, hope this helps .. great to hear feedback/thanks once you start pulling them in one after another like i do & now all my psn buddies do after i showed them .. better yet if your on ps4 post your psn and ill add you.
I use a 33 lb stringer as well and I've usually got it filled up between 30 -45 minutes. There are numerous different lures, spots, and retrieval methods that work to catch the bass on this lake. I found a steady retrieve with a silver casting spoon, twitching it off the bottom produces bass the fastest after the update.
Lol I just got me a 11 foot kayak right so my wife comes home and I'm sitting on it in the middle of the living room playing this game on a kayak. Lol
Larry Tow living your best life
Thank you for this I’m catching bass now
Thanks Jake! One of my new favorite games! I play on the PS4, and I gotta say this looks way better on your setup! I subbed to your channel, keep up the good work!
No Problem, Cowboy! Thanks for the sub, hope you enjoy your stay!
what I do for fishing spotted bass at first was using a gold casting spoon which worked pretty well.
I'm just letting you all know what I've found, I'm using a Yellow with Red dots 1/4 oz spoon and if I do the Lift and Drop I get a bass on it every time. I figured I'd share the wealth.

using a 1/3 silver casting spoon with a stop and go action works well for me
Just subbed, like your videos!!
Great video man! Got my subscription!

Hey thanks for subscribing and I hope the tips work. They should work just as well for PS4 as they do for PC!
Lurrrr Ruler of Omicron Persei 8! Lol
My wife does it too, and I give her a hard time about it
I have the same bass jig you have and I use the same method but I always get bites but I can't possibly set the hook but my character every 10th cast might set the hook automatically but when I use the other methods and lures I get those bites and a bunch of crappies
I have been doing it in peaks on sunny days but tts still the same with the bites that I Can't set the hook on
They have always worked for me.

I don't know if it's my dialect of American English or not but the way you say lure is like nails on a chalkboard to me... lol
Thx this rly helped :D
Awesome, I'm glad to hear it!
yay nice video dude +1
Thanks man.
Just curious Jake, do you capture the Fish footage yourself? I love the live fish intros!
I wish I had an underwater camera to take footage like the intros lol. Glad you enjoy them!
How does your lure keep on the ground if i do it it goes up
How are your graphics so good
Try and go in back area on hidden area and go as far in the little area you'll get alot
i am a newbie and found this a great video. i bought the grub lure and the casting spoon. i caught immediately with the casting spoon but can't equip the grub. How to do this please
Thanks. You need to buy a jig head to put the grub on. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!
@@JVDigital1979 subscribed now, yours are the best videos I found.
How about bait casting? What's a good depth to have your line and what sort of bait? I myself have had some success at around 55" with crickets but do you know anything that I wouldn't?
I haven't bought any baitcasting equipment yet. 55' with crickets will prob work good for both bass and crappie on lonestar lake.
Ok thanks for the feedback, I did some trial and error the other day and had some fair success with crickets and minnows at 55/60" got mostly bass and some pickerel's, same with the spoon bait I had more pickerel's go after that than I expected.
No prob. Minnows work good for the bass. I have pickeral's hit the spoon baits often as well.
How do u keep lure on the bottom when slow casting. Mine always rises
Can you snag other people's lines in the water?
My rod n reel are week idk which to get i have value spin 7 6 and callistoXSR 1000 What do i need to get better drag or something
I don't understand it. I am using the same tactics as you but I don't catch any fish at all, I've tried slow retrieve fast retrieve. nothing works and I'm really getting pissed about it
I can't help ya there, unfortunately. I still fish Lonestar occasionally and these methods still work for me. Try topwater lures and spinnerbaits.
Thanks I'll try it
hectic99 slow and straight and stop&go stop and repeat every 20 ft or so
fish when its at peak fishing time will help
just do slow straight
How are you reeling in the bass so quickly when you catch them? Does it get easier when your level goes up? It seems like when I hook one I have to fight against them for 15-20 mins in real life before I can get them. I’m level 6.
The heavier the gear you use (rod, reel, line) dictates how easy or difficult it is to reel in a fish.
Change the reel speed with the d pad
What rod do I use? Sees like my rod is to weak for this
You are amazing
I’m on PS4. I use the level 6 casting rod, the first casting reel, .005 4 lb test braided line, and 1/4 #1/0 casting spoons wide not narrow. How good a setup is that for level 7?

So your lvl is what I'm lvl 8 and cant switch rods or reels. Can buy but not use. On xbox one .
PLEASE MAKE A VIDEO ON HOW TO USE THE SIMPLE BELL PLEASE THANK YOU
How does your lure stay on the bottom? I'm on PS4 and it always heads to the top when I'm reeling
You have to adjust your reel speed so it reels in slower. This will keep the lure towards the bottom.
im on pc and have same problem. Also using same weight lure and lowest speed it keep coming to the top i have to stop railing to make it sink many times. any one solve that problem?
What type of rod do I use
If I pay for DLC pack on ps4 do do you get to keep it or does it disrepair after a certain amount of days PLEASE PLEASE REPLY
i think you unlock and keep everything even after premium days expire
Make a video on how to use the simple bell PLEASE
Great video Thanks. There are some Facebook groups you can join.Maybe ask there, always alot of helpful people.
Whattttt mannn
it rings when a fish is on and u strike
It works
What does the fish jail do
Just what it says
I snatched a bass I think it was 20 or so feet from the dock.
Nice job!
What rod and reel are you using
I believe I have a Feather light rod and a callisto reel. Not sure of the specs off hand.
Really doesn't matter, it's more about technique, location, time of day (peak hrs)and lure. I have level 5-10 rods and reels and 6lb. test Mono line.
twice my line broke when a fish got on it was using Mono. 008 says it is tested to hold 4Lb what fish would of done that in this lake
Spotted bass, young channel cats, smallmouth buffallo....those are all possibilities that could break 4 pound line. Keep in mind that its not just the weight of the fish that matters, but how much force and strength they put on the line when fighting.
What I don't understand is how my girlfriend and I catch the same exact weight and length spotted bass and hers with fetch 50-100 more cash than mine
I'm really not sure about that. Is she new to the game? I think new players get a free 7 day Premium account (I did). If so, that would explain why she's getting more money for the same size fish.
1"worm blue or white lonestar
Can someone explain to me why two 1lb spotted bass are worth more then one 10lb bowfin?
I believe they factor in the skill needed to catch the fish. A 1.9 lb spotted bass in Texas pays about the same as a 6lb Catfish in Missouri.
How did you make the silver spoon bounce mine will not bounce
Motocross 727 slow straight technique. Let it hit bottom after you cast make sure it stays on the bottom. Try varying your reeling speed to see how it pulls the lure (all different). how do i keep them without getting fined?
You have to buy an advanced license.
Why do u have three bars mine only has one - and I’m 2000 dollars in the whole
It’s not letting me keep the fish
You have to get advanced license
I cannot take bass when i do it i lost 100 coins how i can take it i am on ps4 sorry for my nad english
You need to buy an advanced license so you can keep them without penalty. Advanced licenses are available on the menu screen.
Thanks man
no problem, good luck!
Lol 96 dollars I use flies and I get 200 to 300 a bass fish
Every bass I catch they want to fine me 100 to keep it -.-
You need to buy an advanced license to keep the spotted bass there and you won't get fined.
You need a full licence to keep every single fish
They updated the game so u can't make money off of spotted bass
You mind elaborating on what you mean? Do you receive less money for spotted bass? Did they take spotted bass out of texas?
Sorry man i just realize that i had to buy the liscnes where i can keep all the fish lol sorry about that great video help me out a lot !!
Ah...now worries bud. If you're new to the game, I have plenty of "how-to" videos for Fishing Planet that may help if you get stuck. Thanks for the feedback and good luck out there!
Jake Vegas Digital i see... then since im a noob too can you tell me how to control The cast?
Simon Fonnardy ps4 you click either l3 or r3 (don’t remember) and the. Click left trigger (L2)
I use the same shit and I aint catching shit
Fishing during peak hours may help. They may have made some changes after the recent update, as I've found it a bit more difficult to catch the spotted bass myself these past few days.
