McKenna Grace absolutely KILLED it in this role. She channeled Egon in an amazing and unique way. That perfect casting choice made the movie as good as it was. They didn't dismiss the fact that the original Ghostbusters existed. They embraced it and honored it. Hollywood should take some notes.
Mckenna grace and finn did an amazing job and thier charecters were really interesting but I couldn't like the movie. It didn't have the right feel that a Ghostbuster movie should have. They decided to take a more serious route with this movie and all the charm and humor that made the first 2 Ghostbuster movies so great was gone and it took over an hour of boring charecter building before they even fought the first ghost. The only reason why fans like this movie is because they are getting so hyped up everytime the movie shows some kind of referance to the previous movies that they are blind to the many flaws of the movie.
@@danielorourke6922 The way i see it, the part you thought boring is what looks damn interesting to so many of us out here. honoring the original & keeping the spirit is good enough. we're NOT looking for the new film to be a carbon copy of the old. it DOESN'T need to capture every damn thing the originals embodied. if they wanna take this one seriously instead of being jokey like the originals, so be it, & judging from how so many of the fans react to it, well most of us apparently LOVE it. reference is what got us hyped no doubt, but what made it so great in our eyes is because it's still at the end of the day, its own thing, despite referencing so heavily from the originals, which is something almost impossible to do. ***Spoiler Alert*** As a GB nerd, I really appreciate that Egon had a full role without even being seen until the end. Then they send him out on a good note. Reitman must have really liked Ramis to do what he did. That was really cool how he was haunting the farm (in a good way) the whole time.

I was raised in the era of the original Ghostbusters and to see this and the tribute they did for Harold, it's just amazing. I have no idea what he is like in real life, but P Rudd always comes across like the guy people should like. If not his real persona, genius acting, but we all like him. He's the guy next door, and not snotty and unapproachable.
How to make a respectful sequel. None of this "we want to destroy your heroes to artificially raise up new ones". So glad this was made, loved seeing them all together in the film
This is a great movie, my whole family loved it, all various ages. It has it's flaws, but it gets so much right I didn't care. The cast is great, particularly McKenna Grace and Logan Kim, who were amazing, and of course Paul Rudd. It's genuinely moving, because you care about the characters, it's also really funny. The score has nods to the original film, and adds to the already beautifully crafted atmosphere. And I think it needs to be seen in the cinema. You can tell the director, Jason Reitman, son of the first films director, Ivan Reitman, truely loves the subject matter, a really great Ghostbusters film.
I have a sentimental attachment to Ghostbusters franchise. The first movie I ever saw in the cinema was Ghostbusters 2. Both films were a huge part of my childhood, Afterlife was great & the nostalgia choked me up a few times during the film.
Paul Rudd is funny. Love these guys. Everyone of them. Ernie Hudson, Legend we don't deserve this man. Bill Murray always keeps everyone in check. Dan Akroyd absolute genius and always thought of reminded me of my dad. Mckenna Grace made the new movie and was a really good portrayal of a grand daughter of Egon. I cried when Spengler was a ghost on screen and his interactions as a ghost in a ghostbusters movie. WOW.
This movie is so friggin epic. The ending, is how to do an ending and to pay huuuuuuge tribute throughout the entire movie, to our beloved departed Harold. Was so good to see him alongside his grandchildren & alongside his team & buddies, fighting the fight. The reaction on their faces, maaaann, made this movie standout. This movie is for the fans & everything was well done. The original team with the new generation, so well done. Warms the heart to see this. That hug, those tears at the end🙏🙏🙏 Rest peacefully beautiful Harold We miss you ole friend🙏🙏🙏🙏
Ghostbusters Afterlife is one of the best movies. It combines humor, action and emotions. It is the best way to continue the story of the original Ghostbusters movies and it is a tribute and a goodbye to Harold Ramis and Egon Spengler. I love the more or less hidden hints to the first Ghostbusters movie. And I got goosebumps as I heard the sirene of Ecto-1 and especially at the end as the Ghostbusters were reunited. All actors did a great job. Thank you to them and to Jason and Ivan Reitman for that great movie.
brilliant film. ending was a bit odd but knowing that it was passed by family members and approved before it ever reached the publics eyes makes me think it'll grow on me. post credits scenes were awesome! If this is Logan Kim's first film, I hope he has a great career ahead because the kid is a natural and actually one of the best actors of the film, along with Mckenna Grace and Paul Rudd.
One of the most brilliant jokes ever written is the elevator scene in the hotel after Egon has explained that the proton packs are essentially nuclear bombs: they look nervously at the pack and take a few steps back. The joke doesn't even have a single word of dialogue. If that scene had been written today it would've been 2 minutes long, filled to the brim with dialogue overexplaining the joke to the point of completely losing the punchline, and then ending with a character doing something goofy just to get a snicker out of the audience.
Back then IQ's were sufficient to get a subtle but very funny joke like that, these days most people would be lost if not for a full explanation in minute detail. Sad but true, it's more a lack of imagination than education per se.

Ghostbusters is more than a movie - it’s remembering the night you gathered with your friends, GF or whoever and went to see a movie you still remember to this day. It’s life affirming-
For me, the Ecto-1 was the highlight of this film. We finally got to see it in an action scene. The cartoon series was the only time it was ever previously used in this way. Fantastic stuff.
Saw this last night... loved it along with all the Easter eggs, wish my grandad was still here to see it as be got me into it all those years ago... nostalgia hit :)
Hehehehe! Bill just cannot switch it off can he? He's always gotta be that guy, cracking the jokes, doing the voices for laughs. And that's just wonderful. Never change, Bill!
We took our 15 and 19 year old last night to see it. They laughed so hard I thought they were going to fall out of their seats. Jason Reitman truly followed the canon of the story and crafted a legacy tale for the next generation. He included so much of the first film into this one and perfectly crafted multiple ways to honor Harold Ramis. So much to the point that by the end I was one of those crying at how well they honored Harold, his role in this franchise and especially his memory. It was magnificent. ❤️🥲

I wish I could have watched this with my GrandPa and Father, too bad they both passed away in a 4 year span. They brought me to see GB 2 in a cinema, and GB was one of the first VHS my father ever recorded from a tv airing. A lot of emotions bursted out when Egon appeared helping his niece, and when Winston, Peter, and Ray saw him, I simply couldn't hold it anymore, I bursted into tears, smiling at the same time. Childhood moments, memories, all of it bursting out. This is a movie about legacies, about family, about friendship. Please, please if the issues you have with your loved ones are reasonable and can be worked out, pick up the phone, drive to their address, whatever. Don't let the love you had for each other become a ghost of the past. Thanks Jason Reitman and thanks Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, thanks to all the crew of the movie. This movie put a big red bow for us fans & to honor Harold. This movie is just very touching, way more than I can describe. I cried like a big baby!
Just saw it (11-18-2021)...teared up...you'll know where when you see
it. I'll have some cocoa inside with old friends - for Harold
Guess what?
Yep... smilin’ from ear to ear watching this... and tearing...
God bless the Ghostbusters
The first Ghostbusters movie in over 30 years! I’m going to see it tomorrow! Can’t wait!
You definitely won’t be disappointed it was really good
***Spoiler Alert***
As a GB nerd, I really appreciate that Egon had a full role without even being seen until the end. Then they send him out on a good note. Reitman must have really liked Ramis to do what he did. That was really cool how he was haunting the farm (in a good way) the whole time.
I was very emotional because Egon was always my favorite as a kid, in the films and the cartoons.
@@JoeGallo43 I liked his nerdiness. Winston was my favorite because he was down to Earth and practical.
It was so well done! I really loved it. ANd I think Mackenna did a good job playing someone who was clearly his grandchild. ALl of the kids were great but she stood out
@@paulanderson771 McKenna did a really good job. I was waiting for some woke stuff, but I was pleasantly surprised how she channeled Egons personality. She must have studied his old footage. That's exactly how I would picture Egon as a school kid.
He’s a Spangler fan
After watching Ghostbuster Afterlife, it was well worth the wait. What Mckenna said about the emotions generated from this movie, yes, it's downright emotional all right! I was raised in the era of the original Ghostbusters and to see this and the tribute they did for Harold, it's just amazing. I can say I did get emotional and I can speak for many out there that I'm sure it hit each one of us deep in some way. When a movie does that to you, you know it's a great movie.
Don't trust the critics and believe in their crap. They go by technical aspects of every film ever released so they will never praise any film no matter how good they are. Instead, go by the general audience, the consumers, the people. We know better and this movie hit a home run!!!
Ok we all cried! This is the movie we’ve waited so long to see
I have no shame admitting I teared up at the end.
No tears here
@@maximusprime3459 are you walter peck?
I cried. The ending reminded me of my parents passing
*People like you are crying about everything*
I saw it on opening night and it was great. Touching moments, especially at the end and if you're a fan, there will be some tears shed. I'm not ashamed to admit I did a little as the ending is awesome.
I love the movie … I started crying when the ghostbusters came out to the end ,,, I cried and cried and cried . Ghostbusters is part of my life.
I wont hide to admit it but yeah I cried but in complete happiness seeing these gentlemen I grew up with grace a movie screen after 30 years. I loved every single moment of it.
Hands down the best movie of 2021. This movie got it right where the 2016 version went wrong. Absolutely loved it! Paul Rudd was an excellent choice and reminded me of Rick Moranis’s character in the previous movies
You don't find the forced "Diversity" to be disturbing?
@@Valkonnen What forced diversity? There was no PC face slapping in this film unlike the previous fiasco, just a typical group of people in various situations.
*From what I heard the 2016 movie was an abomination.*
We don't speak of the abomination from 2016.
@@ppipowerclass it's like Terminator Salvation with no preperation
Had a massive tear in my eye at the end - so well done
Never listen to movie critics. See this for yourselves. Excellent movie. I even teared up at the end.
With every reference to the originals I got hyped. When the guys showed up to help I squealed & cried. This movie was the perfect way to introduce a new audience to Ghostbusters
I hit all the emotions watching this movie. The love of a reunion, the jump scares, and the tears. Had it all. I did not want it to end.
Well said, Bravo!
The ending in Afterlife was definitely a tear jerker. This movie is definitely a must watch.
Brings a sweet nostalgic tear to the eye. For how much history was in this interview.
I cried a few times watching this movie and the whole cinema sang to the end music at the end. A beautiful movie and perfect send off to Egon.
I don’t normally go to see “new” movies because I am always disappointed , but I am going to have to see this one!
And the sheriff´s deputy is Dan Ackroyd´s daughter - a true family movie...
I have a sentimental attachment to Ghostbusters franchise. The first movie I ever saw in the cinema was Ghostbusters 2. Both films were a huge part of my childhood, Afterlife was great & the nostalgia choked me up a few times during the film.
*Ive never seen a Ghostbusters film*
watched it last night. It was absolutely amazing. I cried my eyes out at the end. It was so so great. Will watch it over and over
Paul Rudd is funny.
That hug, those tears at the end🙏🙏🙏
Rest peacefully beautiful Harold
We miss you ole friend🙏🙏🙏🙏
Ghostbusters Afterlife is one of the best movies. It combines humor, action and emotions. It is the best way to continue the story of the original Ghostbusters movies and it is a tribute and a goodbye to Harold Ramis and Egon Spengler. I love the more or less hidden hints to the first Ghostbusters movie. And I got goosebumps as I heard the sirene of Ecto-1 and especially at the end as the Ghostbusters were reunited. All actors did a great job. Thank you to them and to Jason and Ivan Reitman for that great movie.
The film was amazing so worth going to see at the cinema.
brilliant film. ending was a bit odd but knowing that it was passed by family members and approved before it ever reached the publics eyes makes me think it'll grow on me. post credits scenes were awesome! If this is Logan Kim's first film, I hope he has a great career ahead because the kid is a natural and actually one of the best actors of the film, along with Mckenna Grace and Paul Rudd.
I watched this recently, and I massively enjoyed it. The end had me near tears. They did a perfect pass the torch film.
Yeah, Venkman mentions they have unlicensed and untested nuclear accelerators on their backs.
Back then IQ's were sufficient to get a subtle but very funny joke like that, these days most people would be lost if not for a full explanation in minute detail. Sad but true, it's more a lack of imagination than education per se.
So I see you are also a fan of Redlettermedia, since that's exactly what they said in their Ghostbusters 2016 review.
I'll take the next one
You mean like the back alley proton pack test scene in GB: Answer the Call?
And thx to all firefighters arond. Thr world ur all heros in my book ❤😊
The ending was very very powerful. It really got to me. May Harold Ramis and Ivan Reitman Rest In Peace. Their legacy will live on forever.
I need to see the extended cut of this interview.

omg was so amazing,i love it so much i cry in the end ,was so especial .................i hope they make another one but now with there on grandkids..............please dont stop.... ghostbusters 4 ever ,love you all .............very very good work............thanks for this amazing movie............... ,my daughter she is a fan like me and she was so excited...............you are all amazing actores...........love love
What a film absolutely brilliant
I watched it and loved it. Well done crews, actors ,writers and director. The marshmallow scene was my favorite 😂
I love how Paul Rudd never ever mentions: Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers!!
That's a movie he should have shown to the kids in the film. 😆😆😆😆
Pretty much all big-time actors have appeared in a least a couple of clunkers
Ghostbusters has been one of my special interests since I was very young. When I first heard of this new Ghostbusters film, I was afraid to watch it because I didn't want to be disappointed if it wasn't good. But I finally watched it a few weeks ago, and I adored it. The ending had me BAWLING. And the post-credit scene? Genius. GENIUS. "Afterlife" is a sequel done right.
they better be working on Afterlife 2... this was really good...
She said "Mr. Paul" what respect....
Brilliant movie and a fitting tribute to the people that gave us the original ghostbusters movie.....its funny, its emotional, its nostalgic....its just what the true fans of the original movies needed
Took my 8 year old to see it. She loved it as I did too. Definitely a comedy I laughed super hard. Plus I cried at the end. Definitely touched me hard.
i also remember watching my first movie at 3 years old, boy what a rush!
Just watched it last night, and it's worth the wait. I love the film and the tribute for Egon is tear jerking. Don't trust the film critic, and just go watch the film.
Those 80s movies were special i was 10 when i sae first im 51 now love those days no phones no karens
Like you here on youtube
And if phones existed in the 80s it would be different now
The movie is good, but that soundtrack reminded me of the 80's and watching such classics as ET. It was the first real family feel good movie I have seen in a long time. Not much to find fault with. They made this one for the fans and I am delighted.
Ghostbusters is more than a movie - it’s remembering the night you gathered with your friends, GF or whoever and went to see a movie you still remember to this day. It’s life affirming-
New movie rocks. The best footage we’ve ever seen of Ecto, proton packs, ghost traps - perfect soundtrack - practical effects. Win.
For me, the Ecto-1 was the highlight of this film. We finally got to see it in an action scene. The cartoon series was the only time it was ever previously used in this way. Fantastic stuff.
I’ve been waiting for this movie for so long. This and No Time To Die. My 2021 is ending awesome with these two movies.
Going to see it in about an hour. So excited!
I have original on vhs❤😊my favorite movie i love opening scene in library ❤😊
This should have a lot more hits, it's the best interview for the new movie I've seen.
Saw this last night... loved it along with all the Easter eggs, wish my grandad was still here to see it as be got me into it all those years ago... nostalgia hit :)
Great questions and a nice interview. So great to see the whole crew. Well, most of them
It was the best way for Harold to be remembered almost like the audience got there chance to say goodbye
Get out and SEE this movie!!! It’s EPIC!!!
Hehehehe! Bill just cannot switch it off can he? He's always gotta be that guy, cracking the jokes, doing the voices for laughs. And that's just wonderful. Never change, Bill!
Can't wait! Tomorrow is going to be awesome! All Ghostbusters big and small Come out and SHOW UP!💥😀😁👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👍🏿
We took our 15 and 19 year old last night to see it. ❤️🥲

It's a shame Harold Ramis is not around to be in this movie. My all time favorite movie is Stripes. A classic with Bill Murray and Harold Ramis. RIP.
In case you didn’t know, my friend. Stripes is available on Netflix right now🥳
@@robertpadillosandiego2821 I dropped Netflix.
Loved the movie I just watched it .I am 38 and the Ghostbusters were my heroes as a kid . Thank you for making part III
Saw it once Thursday night and will be seeing it again at least two times. Already pre-ordered on iTunes as well. You hear that Sony? We need more!!
I can see a sequel where Winston funds the whole operation. Needs to make a new team. Give it 5 years and Ms. Grace could lead that team. Have small cameos from Murray and Aykroyd teaching the newbies. If done right could lead to entire new series.
@@TRivera13 I think this is the direction they’re going to go. You know Sony is going to want to milk this now this movie is already a hit
Will go to watch this again, this was one of the best Christmas presents we could get.
Keep busting, Keep loving.
A big hug from Italy.
I love when Murray started doing the Russian accent
McKenna Grace is the star no question but seeing the guys together back in that universe.....yeah I cried.
Once a Ghostbuster, always a Ghostbuster!
I teared up at the end with the tribute to Harold…. really really enjoyed this movie
Great pairing of original and new comers. Mckenna Grace really impressed me. I was scared at first with them going a little goonies with GBA, but after seeing it, I want more. Bravo to ALL involved.
It made perfect sense once you saw the ending reveal how she was able to control the Proton Pack. Egon was helping her the whole time. Then to see him lined up again with the others. Great way to honor Ramis, and say goodbye to Egon.
@@TRivera13 No that's not correct Egon only helped her at the end when she was 1 on 1 with Gozer other people also used proton packs fine too
@@jennydavis4198 Use your imagination. Of course the adult men can use their packs. They've done it before. But a child controlling that much energy she obviously needed help. Egon's spirit did that.
@@TRivera13 Lucky and Trevor both used proton packs in the film and at the same time as Phoebe in in one case.. If you actually watch the film you will see in the 1 on 1 with Gozer she is fighting hard then all of a sudden she stabilizes as Egon helps her ...
