The trailers!!!! More excited for this then anything at this years Oscars.
HeII, I wasnt involved in making Ghostbusters and my eyes would well up.if I walked into the firehouse 💛 Loved this.movie since 1984
Ahhh! So awesome Adam got to visit the set!
And McKenna's excitement to see Adam is infectious!
Can't wait for this movie!
The dads Ivan Reitman and Harold Ramis must be real happy how this turned out
I loved seeing behind the scenes of Ghostbusters frozen empire and seeing the set for the iconic firehouse was so emotional and exciting! I'm a huge fan since 1984 of the original Ghostbusters and it was so great to see the proton packs and the great memories and props for the films for Ghostbusters 😊👻🤗😘😍✌🏼🙏🏼😇❤️❤️❤️❤️
Can we just for a minute appreciate how excited and invested McKenna Grace is?
I think 8:30 would become most replayed part of this video. I watched it already 4 times!
Haha yeah, so wholesome, and such a contrast with her character too! Looks like she's smiling so hard it hurts. 😁
And let's be honest, I probably would not act any more composed were I walking on that set, and having the chance to meet Adam and everyone there. 😂🤣
Cartoon adorable.
@cyberotica365that's why afterlife worked too. Actual care
I was just thinking the samething of course I am waiting more form Adam but this gets me up for the movie thanks Adam for getting us behind the scenes look!
I like how Mckenna seems like a huge fan of Adam.
I would probably be all bubbly and happy to see him the same way should i ever meet him. But with me it wouldn't be "cute". I'm 6'7" and built like a tank ;)
@@peterpain6625 Me too! I'd probably run up squealing and scare the dickens out of the poor man as something the size of a small vehicle bears down on them 😅
Isn't everyone a fan of Adam? He's kinda a mobile safe space for nerd culture.
i mean, who isn’t? I’m not a big fan of celebrities but, if I could meet one, it would be Adam.
She did an amazing job with the first film, I cant wait to see this one.
McKenna is such a sweetheart geeking out over running into Adam
She's gonna move into her room on that set when filming is done haha.
Adam's got a fangirl !
@@thoso1973 You know a ghost never leaves a haunted house...
Seeing McKenna peeking around the corner, asking permission to "say Hi", then coming over to hug Adam was adorable.
For some reason, I am always surprised when an actor I have seen in only one role suddenly becomes their real self. Intellectually, I know that I have only seen them acting as a character, but, if they have done a good job, my brain accepts them AS that character.
She seems to be working her way up in Hollywood, she got the lead role in Paw Patrol 2.
That's how you know they're a good actor. When you have to remind yourself to separate their character from their actual self.
@@dark14life Yup. I grew up in the 1960's watching The Andy Griffith Show as a kid. The first time I saw Andy Griffith portray a villain in a movie, my brain kept saying "THAT'S WRONG!!!"
You need to see her in Gifted, playing a 7 year old. That's the first time I saw her, and I knew she was talented and will be around for a long time.
@@TheKildar I think she is very good. I have entered the stage of Old-Fartdom in which, by the time I notice someone, they have probably made a number of good performances.
BTW, you know you have reached that point when you see comedians poking fun at and see impressions done of people to great applause and say to yourself "Who the heck is that??"
It’s heartbreaking hearing Jason talk about how much Ivan would have loved the firehouse set, but I love how much McKenna if fan-girling over being there. 😢❤
McKenna's enthusiasm is proof of Ivan's legacy. These films are for all the young people out there to fall in love with like we did, who knows how they'll be inspired.
When you've lost someone close, that's what you do. You wish they were there to share in your adventures, see your accomplishments , and give just about anything for them to be in that moment with you.
It can haunt you.
Pun intended.
"Oh, here's McKenna" THAT'S SO COOL!!! She just shows up! It's good to be Adam!
McKenna showing up the moment you both started talking about Ivan is like Harold and Ivan winking to camera.
That was Cute to Notice.
@@user-mw1lh9ed5u A kid with a 30 - year-old personality !
Jason opening the doors and Adams reaction was like when Gene Wilder revealed his factory to the kids in Willy Wonka. Amazing.♥️
🎶”Come with me,
and you’ll be,
in a world of pure imagination….” 🎵 😁
Wow, great take, I can hear him singing now, 😊😊
I’m 54 and I’m more excited to see this than my kids. Peace and love to everybody ❤❤❤❤
I’m can’t wait !!
No kids but 47 ... same can't wait . I loved the first one ❤
Summer of ‘69 here. I’m buzzing for this! 😃
45 here and excited as well. My GF and I are planning on getting her 11 yr daughter into this....starting with the original one and going from there (NOT including the 2016 reboot)
Why wouldn't you be. We have grown up with this.
McKenna is a straight up gem.
The child-like wonder and excitement from Adam, Jason, and Mckenna is palpable and I can totally relate! How fun would it be to wander around that set and just pick up EVERYTHING?
You really have to appreciate Adams ability to just sit back and listen while just letting his host unload their passion. You could see the joy in Jasons body language just being able to talk about what he loves.
seeing Mckenna get so giddy around Adam was adorable.
I hope we keep this franchise rolling, so these sets can continue to be worked on.
The sets already been torn down and destroyed.
Yeah obviously but they can rebuild it again if they need it for another film. It'll be in a filing cabinet now so they can do it exactly every time @@ListerDavid
Yeah so amazing!!!
@@ListerDavid 😢
Its standard practice as other productions rent the space/studio. But no issues rebuilding
Adam is the only person making commercials that I enjoy watching even though I know they are commercials. A rare talent!
well it’s also behind the scenes so there’s that…
Screw the movie trailers I want more Adam touring and showing off sets!
No trailer has made me wanna watch a movie more than this video.
Yeah, really. The kind of commercial you _want_ to see is _how_ to do commercials. Think of any commercial that goes viral because it's _fun,_ and how that's good for both the company and the audience.
I feel exactly the same way!
I love that McKenna is such a big nerd and so sweet too, funny seeing her geek out over Adam
Mckenna Grace is perfect to carry on the Ghostbusters legacy..
And Paul rudd
I saw Gifted before they announced the Afterlife cast. As soon as heard the cast line up for Afterlife, I was thinking Jason Reitman made such a perfect casting choice.
In the first movie she was stealing the neighour's electricity so that she could run her lathe. She instantly won me over with that.
Rly? She seems sweet enough, but the new movie is trash. Not 2016 trash, but still trash.
We need an hour long version of this video. Absolutely incredible.
I can’t wait for the follow ups. You know there will be some. They were both so excited as many of us would be in their position.
One hour is too short. I want an extended version, 4h.
What I would give to wander around that set for even 30 minutes... I need to see everything.
@@programacionevolis3d681 You don't think that is asking a bit much ?
I could watch this conversation for hours. Thanks for sharing.
same
The energy coming off of Jason and McKenna gives me great hope for another great movie. It's always great to see the people making it having love for the subject matter, and just a great reassurance.
Also seeing Adam and McKenna having the exact same excited energy exploring the set is so cute.
Hollywood, please don't destroy Mckenna like you do with everyone else.
8:30 my god ! i love how overly excited Mckenna Grace is ! she's definitely the most adorable kid iv'e ever seen i hope we got to see her in more Ghostbusters movies because you can see her love for this franchise ! and i realy hope nothing bad happens to Phoebe and that she gets enough screentime you know ? but one thing is for certain PROTECT MCKENNA ON ALL COSTS !!
She is 50% of the reason why I hoped they would do a sequel to Afterlife.
@@chamoo232 I've been a fan of her since the movie Gifted. That scene in that movie where she does sums in the classroom is hilarious, so reminds me of the similar scene in Matilda.
I love how this feels like a conversation between two friends or at the very least two people who know each other and not just two people dropped together for the sake of a promo.
It's really pretty damn refreshing after seeing special FX & sets.
I get so emotional watching these behind the scenes. I never realized how integral Ghostbusters was to my childhood until recently. I grew up watching a vhs recording from network television dozens of times and loved watching the cartoon on Saturday mornings. My kids are at the same age i was when when first movies came out and they are super excited to see the next one.
All this to say I'm so thankful Adam is taking us behind the scenes so we can see the passion and reverence the new generation is giving to the franchise.
i feel exactly the same here, my eyes, MY EYES
As someone who is still in my child/teenagehood, I get emotional watching these things knowing how much joy it brings me but also that I will never be able to experience this for the first time ever again
Just phenomenal set building. It's wonderful that they had the opportunity to recreate it all
Especially as it is somewhere in England.
I am a lover of Ghostbusters since I was 4 years old. And I think about references in the Ghostbusters movies all the time. There is literally no week since since my childhood that I don‘t think about Ghostbusters. Cheers from Germany
McKenna is infectiously enthusiastic. Plenty of actors can do a job and do it well without that level of enthusiasm but it is nice to see how much she obviously enjoys the job.
It is amazing to see stars be star struck. McKenna has done so many great roles and she is a star, but I love seeing how excited she was to see Adam!
McKenna is so adorable omg, such a cute actress. 😍
Jason carried on his Dad's name in a way that nobody thought we'd ever get to appreciate again. Seeing something as iconic to a lot of us as Ghostbusters revived as a modern day franchise is almost surreal.
Mckenna Grace is a damn national treasure.
She's so excited and invested in this part.
That's really awesome to see. That level of enthusiasm for this kind of work is what makes great movies.
Ghostbusters has to be my best cinema experience, the whole place burst out in song once the theme started, we were screaming it the whole way through, my dad must have been deaf that night with four kids singing 'Ghostbusters' the whole way home.Seeing the ghost of Spengler in the latest one brought a tear to my eye, what a talent taken too soon Ramis was.
They should have this open as museum tour. I'd pay for that
McKenna - was so exited to see you Adam! She is just so excited to see you it’s wonderful! And so excited to be in the GB universe - when we met her and she signed the ecto - she was just the same! Great video! So excited for the premiere this week! Looking forward to more coverage!!!
Thst is an awesome experience. McKenna is such a perfect spengler
I LOVE how excited McKenna Grace is, she's so happy to be there. I also adore Jason Reitman, arguably the OG ghostbusters fan. I hope they didn't tear this set down when filming completed, although it most likely was sadly. Adam, you're living the dream man.
I'm willing to bet that the set wasn't torn down, but meticulously stored incase a 3rd movie gets greenlit.
I Guarente that it was carefuly dismantled so it can be reassembled for the next installment.
100% now it's been made as a set even if some elements are not kept they will have it all on file now to recreate with ease @@BeazleyStudios
So brilliant that Mckenna was there to help in the tour, also that she was obviously fangirling over Adam, so awesome.
The filled-up holes from the Containment Unit shutdown back in '84 has to be one of the most awesome details ever!
I'm not ashamed to say I cried like a baby watching this video. 40 years ago little did I know my life would be changed.
Ghostbusters set me on a path to being a paranormal investigator and part of the Great Lakes Ghostbusters Coalition and the Kalamazoo Ghostbusters with my dear friend and their founder, Danny Holroyd. The look in today's kids eyes when they see us in our uniforms, or see the group's Ecto's at movie premiers or parades..even just the Ecto siren helps me to remember when I was 15 years old and how the fascination of this movie AND the paranormal exploded in me.
Thank you Adam for doing this.
I’m can’t wait !!
Here's Adam living our dream life again. Thanks for taking us along it's beyond amazing to get to see all these details. I enjoy how excited you get and it feels great to know someone out there is just as excited about set design, costume design, prop aging, and all the little things we don't get to see in a movie.
To get to go into such an iconic fictional location! Just the vibes!!!
I wouldn't say it's a fictional location because the firehouse does exist. It's in New York City. The interiors did however, exist, but in l. A at another firehouse that is now being turned into a museum piece for the history of that fire. Or something that's what I heard but because they were able to build the firehouse as depicted in the movies in both the first and second ghostbuster film Means that they took Both firehouses and actually made the real life firehouse. Depicted in the movies.
I love that chemistry overall there. And to be honest... small role, even for 1 minute or so for Adam as the old "uncle" / "grandad" of McKenna Grace who brings some ideas and solutions into the movie would be an awesome appreciation to all of them :)))
Right in my childhood feels.
I saw the original Ghostbusters in the theatre 12 times when I was a kid, you can say I have been a fan for a very long time.
😅 I remember at age 4 my parents had treated me to see Ghostbusters in theaters and afterwards we saw Gremlins back to back
I love that these two are stare struck of each other
Oh man, what a dream to walk on this set with Jason and just talk about Ghostbusters. I HOPE someone does a walk through with Dan, Bill, Ernie and Annie and record anecdotes about their experiences in the Firehouse for Ghostbusters 1, 2 and Frozen Empire. Thanks Adam!
For those that can't be there. Like myself. This is just an awesome walk through. We would all love to walk through that set. The feel like you're a part of it. And in some way it's actually real.
I'm really glad for Jason Reitman, it's hard to revisit the past. ^^
Great to see a movie being made by people who clearly love what they're doing, and are deeply connected to the source material. Can't wait to watch the movie!
Seeing Egon's name on the locker hit me right in the feels. Love you Harold. ❣
Nicely demonstrates why the movies are in such good hands with Jason, he really gets the essence of what his dad and the others forged back then.
And casting McKenna was a stroke of genius. Just like him, she's the ultimate best case to happen to the new era of the franchise.
McKenna is really the heart of these movies! I just watched the the new movie and I loved it!
Jason is an obviously a huge fan of the entire franchise. Seems like a perfect fit to carry on his father’s legacy. ❤
Gotta continue with the family business.😊
This is the greatest behind the scenes ever. This set is a work of art and means so much to so many. The details, OH GOD THE DETAILS!!
Love. Tears. Proton packs. Always great seeing people who love their craft geek out about it.
I loved every part of this! Everyone's genuine love for everything "Ghostbusters". The way they made the firehouse feel like a museum. McKenna fangirling over their interview and them fanboying back over having her in the interview was just amazing.
12:21 "If you ever want to safely electrocute an actor I can help" 😂
Im sure he had a vivid flashback of the build team shocking the piss outta him
I'm investigating the effect of negative reinforcement on actors ability
@@adamscott7354 The effects?! I'll tell you what the effect is! It's pissing me off!
@@ChuckM0503 Well then maybe my theory is correct!
@@adamscott7354 You can keep the 5 bucks, I've had it!
How lovely is McKenna! ❤
I love how she prefers to wear the heavy pack for the realism. Awesome.
This video reminded me how much fun can be had when on set, this one felt like a memory fulfilled
Thank you Adam for the behind the scenes, Love it
That pack locker is ALL the chef's kisses.
When they walked into the set….i cried
Can we just take a moment to appreciate that they went and built the whole firehouse on a soundstage, not just combining two different IRL locations into one but making it so that they don't have to disrupt the real-life operations of the still-operational Hook & Ladder 8?
Story-wise, I'm totally lost as to how it would be possible that all of this stuff survived 40+ years of other tenants using this space, but nostalgia-wise, I LOVE that they did this and can't wait to see it on film
McKenna Grace seems like the sweetest kid. Her Parents raised her right.
This is so amazing. Listening to Jason talk about walking into the firehouse for the first time, and his memories associated with it, really choked me up. I'm so glad you were able to film this.
Thank you! We feel so lucky.
I'm amazed they built the set out so completely. Merging not just the NYC exterior with the LA interiors but fleshing out all the spaces we only glimpsed in other films.
Thank you for the tour! This franchise means SO much to me.
The Firehouse just looks astonishing. This film looks like such a labor of love and I'm so excited for it
I’d love to see a similar video where they get the reaction of Dan Akroyd , Ernie Hudson or Bill Murray. More Dan bc I’d imagine Bill would just be aloof about the whole thing.
McKenna is so grown up now and is much taller after the afterlife movie.
Awesome experience for all of us who would never get the chance to do this!!!
So much history with the franchise ❤❤
I got chills watch thinking how I would feel if I walked in I think I'd spend an hour from one end to the other just wowzers
McKenna's excitement was super cute. The set looked awesome!
Screw the Harry Potter Studio Tour, I want them to keep these sets and make a Ghostbusters Studio Tour!!!
I wanna visit the Firehouse for real!! (Not the NYC one with firefighters... the movie version)
McKenna Grace just showing up was nice surprise! The way she was so shy was toooo cute ☺
I like to imagine that somewhere someone mentioned “oh yeah Adam Savage is here touring the firehouse” and McKenna just beelined straight there.
… hey, two different “Busters” meeting up! That’s fun!
nice call on the "Busters" reference. Well played.
I remember seeing an Ecto 1 from the interstate for the longest time in Huntsville, Al. I also love that this is a soundstage set and not all CGI. ❤ Thanks for sharing Adam.
Loved Afterlife, especially Dan Aykroyd saying,we're from the home office, can't wait to see Frozen Empire!💘💘💘
I love it all. It is important. One day this will be built around, encapsulating the whole thing, but it will still remain. Or, so I wish.
And the reason it feels real, is because it is - in a mysterious way.
I really appreciate what mr Reitman says about production design.
Back when i was a movie student learning character and production design, our teacher would told us about the narrative part of the process.
Mixed with my prior architectural studies it served me well in the design of virtual sets and the aappreciation for those minute details that make them both realistic and "lived in"!
Same! Game Designer/Technical Systems Developer in the video game industry here, and back during my early level design days, I remember being taught that we had to make things like park picnic tables etc. that not only functioned and held their weight/shape when physics was applied, but also were worn, weathered, and honestly “crappy” enough to look “lived in” and used, with the illusion that they used to be pristine. It couldn’t be too good OR too bad. Holes, deformation, warping, but still safe enough to sit on (and again, holding realistic weight with actual physics sims) so in some ways similar to architectural engineering/design, like you mentioned…except your architectural studios were likely certainly more intense! 😊
Mind blown, fantastic behind the scenes. Can't wait to see the new movie and will have to rewatch the original Ghostbusters now
that was awesome! McKenna was so sweet and grateful to be there. they picked an amazing person to continue the ghostbusters story.
I'm still recovering from walking on the Dr Who set, and that was probably 50 years ago! Just the Brigadier screwing up a ball of paper, throwing it at the bin and missing, several times. Just as I would have done. And trying on a Sea Devil head/costume, wow.
I've been on movie sets since, but the Brigadier 'in his office', while the Tardis was just over there in the corner, and its inside was over there! Well, I know what Adam is feeling, sort of.
Fantastic! Thank you Adam and thank you Mr. Reitman! Ms. Grace is pretty darn awesome! 🙂
Ok after watching this I'm excited to watch McKenna grow as an actor. She's so great
She has been acting since she was 4,she's already a powerhouse. Have you watched Gifted or her role in A Handmaid's Tale?
I’m so glad Jason live his source material. Bro spent a minute talking about the Easter eggs of the FLOOR. That’s how passionate he is!
I can see her character as leader of the new Ghostbusters. The new generation is in good hands with every one of the younger cast
I saw Ghostbusters in 1984 as a child the Firehouse has such a special place in my heart, I love seeing it now brought back for this new film, I can't wait for this film Afterlife felt like a continuation I hope we are going to see more behind the scenes from Adam... This is great!
Adam just being all of us when he opens the proton locker. So many childhood memories with this franchise.
Afterlife was such a fun film. Didn't get the chance to see Ghostbusters in a movie theater, so hearing the proton pack fire up in that setting was such a rush. Can't wait to see this one now.
Grace is so lovely!
McKenna can crash my interview any time😂❤...her suit even has the" pipe"😮😂
How Reitman feels is exactly how I feel when I see this place but also when I’m at my fathers old successful business it just brings me back as a youngster. So like how he remembers his youth on set all those years ago
So awesome how McKenna is geeking out over Adam. Very Genuine.
That set is beautiful.
OMG. I can't wait for this movie next week!
Awesome!! How many times have we dreamt we were in this building over the past 40 years!
Mind is blown 🤯 I saw the movie before seeing this Adam Savage tour(s) and wow this is surreal. I feel like the kid who saw Ghostsbusters ‘84 again with all this cool stuff! The Ghostbusters movies are some of my top ten favorites. This felt like coming home and wrapping up the original storyline and the birth or passing the torch to the next generation of Ghostbusters, people and us as the movie goers. OMG Adam! This was very cool! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🙏🏾
Amazing set. Looking forward to seeing the new film
