The movie wasnt that bad, they were supposed to have a "The Mask" style dance possession flash mob but cut it out to save time. It can be seen in the credits.
Say what you will about the movie, but it can't be denied this is a phenomenal remix.

Who else has a physical reaction when they hear the sound of the proton packs charging up at 1:08? It's got the same level of reaction in me as the sound effect for a lightsaber igniting. xD I love how atavistic those sounds have in our culture, or at least for me anyway

Yeah, along with the humming of lightsabers, the proton-packs powering up is definitely one of the most iconic sounds in movie history imo. And while we're at it, i'd count the blaring of he original Ecto-1's sirens on that list as well.

Its good to know I'm not the only one who actually had fun with this movie.
Still... Haven't watched it since I got the blu-ray, because it always just reminds me that it tanked because people were too butthurt to give it a chance.

Eh is exactly right. I didn't hate it. Got a few chuckles and fun moments. But its 35 mins of comedy shoved into 100 mins without nearly the culturally relevant commentary the original had.

When I was little I remember that my dad put me the originals movies and I even some episodes of the animated series...But I was a little scared when I watched the trailers of these movie and I thought that It was going to suck...But It was pretty good! and the cameos of the original cast of the original movies...PRICELESS!!!
