This was my music in the 90's. I loved promoting and going to the rebel parties. Asylum Crew baby....... Sssylum!!!! Also cant forget the Renaissance Crew. I.E, San Berdoo Southern California Woot.
this was great in its time. although, i find my self preffering deep house. tracks like push the feeling on by nightcrawlers, deep inside, the feeling, your love is so devine, and the ever classic...you got me up. thats where its at for me.
To get rid of any confusion: House as a genre itself did start in Chicago. The title of this page suggests that these tracks are hard housetracks, not to be confused with the genre hardhouse, which is what was probably meant by Mr. Lopes. Hardhouse did originate in the UK.
Been looking for this since like 98.. arena in los angeles actually hollywood.. i miss them sick ass tracks out of chicago UC chicago to be exact. Peace.
Paul Anthony and ZXX made a 2011 hard house remix of some DJ Trajic songs, in particular Headbangers, they have that "modern" sound and quality to them but with the same hooks, synths and beats as old hard house! I think it does the old tracks justice.
@thunderhorse1000 Hard house is peculiar in that it's one term but describes two different styles. It's very possible for UK and LA/Chicago to come up with the words "hard house" to describe something, even if the origins are different. It's probably why Jumpstyle producer Chicago Zone got his name from, it pays homage to this style which originated in Chicago.
@lahardhouse exactly house started in chicago at a small gig called the warehouse so basically the names hardstyle jumpstyle tekstyle etc didnt exist till later on in the 2000's jungle n house from uk were still uprising during the 90's late 90's
@ClassiccHouse I know that Bobby D, a Chicago DJ mixed a lot of old hard house and gradually started mixing in more jumpstyle later, like Da Boy Tommy and Teknowarriors. Style wise it made sense, Chicago hard house was at a faster bpm when the 90's ended.
I'm well aware Hard House has early roots in England. I was living in Germany when House started to spread and helped spawn the harder/ faster beats I started to like. If you re-read my post it states THIS is 90s Hard House LA/ Chicago style, which it is because of the DJs. But most importantly we can agree... fuck trance.
Yeah it's hard house but pop hard house. You need too listen to under ground Los Angeles hard house. If you dont know you dont know? Much love to the person that made this good shit I luv it my boy.
i remember seeing daft punk back in 97... t-bang dropped da way u work and the whole fucking place went absolutely bonkers. like seriously, never seen a place rock that hard.
@Imtheman19871 you gotta remember this music was from the mid to late 90's there was no such thing as jump style, and the USA had their own style of hard house versus the UK....that's why it's different and called that way
@drewsov i know all that bout the jumpstyle genre, i refer to it as that because of the springy kicks, kinda goes boing boing boing ya know? well there is a section in this song that gets as fast as gabber. Ive never heard house like this, no matter how old
@Alexdawicked i have hundreds of hard house cd's being from chicago myself i loved that genre. the hype, the palidrome, the slam, jubilation, the polo club, metro, etc yeah buddy.
@Imtheman19871 jumpstyle isnt a genre of music, it is a dancing style..... opposite of shuffle= jumpstyle this is and always will be HOUSE ....which AMERICA invented, thank you very much !
Yes there are many differences. Actually jumpstyle nowadays died a bit, but it's evolved in 'Tek' or 'Tekstyle'. The biggest difference is the kick. Tek kick: more happy (i dont know how to explain right' hardstyle kick is more distorted, more heavy, more aggressive. BPM of both styles is 150bpm. here is a tekstyle song: /watch?v=ek1VF4a6cQs&feature=relmfu here is a hardstyle song: /watch?v=Q0r0pu8A6Z0 They are both with a video so you can see how amazing the parties are :D
Relax mate, this I know. I never disputed where it originated from. These DJs in particular are from my local scene and were tits here in LA & Chicago playing Hard House.
I look at it this way, House music ( music in general ) is a great unifier and helps people get along & feel good. Sometimes people help correct or inform others of mistakes -which I have no problems with. What I do have a problem with is someone being rude in your face like because they are safe behind their keyboard. When this happens I'm inclined to teach them some manners, because if this type of behavior goes unchecked, kids often progress into full blown dickheads as adults.
Started from EUROPE then to east-coast then west-coast c'mon ..dubstep and all trance and house started in europe, if you know music you know your history
Ehh, I reckon it's the other way around. Like, Jumpstyle sounds like it's really like, angry BOOM BOOM BOOM, where as hardstylejust sounds like a faster watered-down version of it.
@Imtheman19871 to be honest i love my hard house and would love to have an american come party wth me its not so much the music its more the remixes im thinking
Uhhh not talking "house music" here..Im talking about hard house.."hard house" is a sub genre that started in the UK. I believe you need to go to Wikipedia. goodbye

Chicago started THIS style of hard house in the early 90s (ghetto stuff look it up, Dance Mania) this sound has nothing to do with UK hard house
Truth
@lahardhouse exactly house started in chicago at a small gig called the warehouse so basically the names hardstyle jumpstyle tekstyle etc didnt exist till later on in the 2000's jungle n house from uk were still uprising during the 90's late 90's
Hard house bro! circa 90's
@ClassiccHouse I know that Bobby D, a Chicago DJ mixed a lot of old hard house and gradually started mixing in more jumpstyle later, like Da Boy Tommy and Teknowarriors. Style wise it made sense, Chicago hard house was at a faster bpm when the 90's ended.

at least we can all agree that it did indeed start
Yeah it's hard house but pop hard house. You need too listen to under ground Los Angeles hard house. If you dont know you dont know? Much love to the person that made this good shit I luv it my boy.

so what did i miss out in the clubs and events since i was born in 95 :S
Funny how this discussion is taking place on a label called UC. I don't see Shit from the UK. ALL good house music came from LA and Chicago.
YEAH LOVE THIS..
i remember seeing daft punk back in 97... t-bang dropped da way u work and the whole fucking place went absolutely bonkers. like seriously, never seen a place rock that hard.
thanks for listening!

@Imtheman19871 you gotta remember this music was from the mid to late 90's there was no such thing as jump style, and the USA had their own style of hard house versus the UK....that's why it's different and called that way
@Imtheman19871 the music came from all over the world but the style was born in #Chicago.. hence #chicagohouse!
hard house is coming back....
@drewsov i know all that bout the jumpstyle genre, i refer to it as that because of the springy kicks, kinda goes boing boing boing ya know? well there is a section in this song that gets as fast as gabber. Ive never heard house like this, no matter how old
doesnt matter where you start, its where you end up..
DAMN I remember this from way back. House will always be shit for me.
@Alexdawicked i have hundreds of hard house cd's being from chicago myself i loved that genre. the hype, the palidrome, the slam, jubilation, the polo club, metro, etc yeah buddy.
@Imtheman19871 jumpstyle isnt a genre of music, it is a dancing style.....
opposite of shuffle= jumpstyle
this is and always will be HOUSE ....which AMERICA invented, thank you very much !
Hmm, not quite. I'd go compare them. They can both be angry, but jumpstyle often has more bounce to it. It's kick usually sounds...springy.
chicago started the house music but in the mid 90s alot house music was being pumped in los angeles more the chicago.
ohhhh yeeeeA!)

@Dragonbolshake Oh thank you, you corrected my facts ;)
Jumpstyle focuses more on being bouncy, while hardstyle is more stompy.
Paradise Garage? Which was in the U.S? Yeah, tell me how that's in an overseas location.
Does anybody remember a song that went something like: there's a ghost in this house.......that was the shit!
