I’ve found in my 72 years on this earth, the only thing that stops a bully is pushing back, hard.

You can't beat bullies with kindness.. you beat them with ferocity. Everyone who ever tried to bully me ended up scared of me. It's amazing to see how cowardly bullies really are when the person they thought was a victim is looking at them like they are about to be turned into tonight's dinner.

I've been bullied my entire life, whether it's aggression or just plain being ignored. I try to stay positive and be kind but people just aren't receptive of me

Best Approach....Ignore them. Assess the Situation then Be Nice as per Circumstances. Learn to trust your Instincts...

Kindness doesn't work...as a person who experienced it at work , I tried to be kind to them but they kept going at it, they harassed me , assaulted me and even tried to run me over .....so yeah being kind to the bully won't help...it's even worse at the workplace

I used to get bullied when I was in 4th to 6th grade, I also have some bullies in highschool but not so serious compare to my bullies when I was in 4th to 6th grade. I suffered from bullying, I was traumatized and I'm filled with regrets that I didn't fight back against them that i didn't do anything to stop them. If I were given a second chance to go back to that time I would choose to fight back and stop being kind to them. They ruined my childhood, they traumatized me to the point that I really don't want to go in highschool. It's really hard avoiding some of my big classmates thinking that they were bullies.

This man could be a great stand up comic---being kind does not usually work with bullies-----unfortunately! How to stop them? Get away and then help those who are being bullied . Stand up to them---show them in some way that you have persevered and won! But you must get out of the situation asap.

Great, but when you have bullying in the workplace and the bully is the general manager, a narcissist, your kindess is what attracts their attacts on you.

What an inspiration you are. My heart went out to you for all that you went through as a child and young adult. it's unbelievable that human beings can be so cruel and apathetic. Your talk has given me strength to keep pressing on, and to truly believe in myself, no matter what anyone else thinks. Thank you!

Kindness?, No, you take distance. That's it

  • @vkrgfan

Kindness is not a solution against abuse, you have to set clear boundaries and report abuse immediately. Abusers exploit Empaths they seek out kind individuals because they become an easy target.

Sorry you were bullied, but kindness doesn't always work. People need to stand their ground and help someone who is being bullied. Bullied is the nice word harassment.

Totally agree. I tried this for over 2 years with an in law and it doesn’t work they take it as a green light to bully more.

Yeah, bullies are raised that way.....or are they? I was the youngest of 4 children. I’ve finally come to realize that they are all narcissistic psychopaths. Yes, I will fight bullies with kindness.....kindness towards myself, to think enough of myself to walk away and have nothing more to do with them. I’ve basically wasted my kindness on them all of my life.....now I will use that kindness on the one person that could sorely use it and appreciate it the most......myself!
True narcissistic psychopaths cannot relate to kindness.....they only see it as a sign of weakness and a flaw......they use it against you. Check out the psychopathy of these kind of people and you will see what I mean. They will use your kindness as a means to screw you over. Been there. Done that. I’m out of here!

How sick that a teacher says to a parent to a bullyied child that he can´t help because he´s friends with the bully-child and it´s parents...

I love this idea and have seen reports documenting efficacy. What makes sense to me is that using kindness to beat bullying is highly effective when introduced early in elementary school. The random acts of kindness prevent the bully from creation.

No kindness didn't work for me, it's make worse. I experienced myself when I was a kid.
    There are only 2 solutions
    1. Get away/flee/run.
    2. Fight them physically.

Sorry I don't agree with the video title. kindness does not work. No matter how much I was nice, smiling, kind, etc. The bullies are even stronger. Bullies are fixed when the high rank does something.

Oh, I care about others, so much that I will never take your stance on matters. Enemies do not fear the docile, impotent people like you. You are food for them. And they look forward to having your family as snacks. Good luck.

this is an inspiring talk, and to me, it aims at overpowering the negative energies out there in the big bad world! every single person watching this has the power to bring good energy and kindness into the world around them! it's about a ripple effect. (and no, there is no across the board perfect answer that will solve ALL bullying, to the other half of the comments section)

Crazy how parents/ teachers will at times wipe their hands clean as if there’s notation more they can do. I have lots of compassion for them, but there are many that don’t do their part.

You are creating the same environment. Perpetuating it, in fact. Bullies think that what they are doing is acceptable since they also love power and control.

God bless your heart, young man! My heart feels exactly where your heart is.
I'm sorry but your sadly mistaken. Bullying doesn't stop from kindness. Violence exists and it is a part of the world. Good people don't want it but it is what it is. It exists. But it isn't going to disappear until the Lord returns. If kindness was the answer, it would have never existed.
