My recommendations for how to fix rewind
1. Include the top 100 most subscribed channels (not including music stars or talk show hosts who did not start on UA-cam) as well as smaller channels to demonstrate the UA-cam community in quick cuts, but keep their biggest stars at the forefront.
2. Include references from the 50 or so most watched videos that year. Some can be longer than other, some can just be in the background for you to catch on multiple viewings. Nothing should take up as much time as the fidget spinners did.
3. Include some of the years top memes just for the silliness and fun.
4. Don't pander and hide the controversy, this is a reflection of everything UA-cam have done in the year, be self aware and mention the unsavory topics. You'll get more respect that way.
5. Don't force a message down our throats, natural disasters are not a thing people want to remember in a "fun" look back of the year. Cut the emotional manipulation and just stick to UA-cam topics of the year.
BONUS: Allow some smaller channels to have a chance to gain exposure. Seek out some UA-camrs with just a few thousand subscirbers and have them in the far background so they know they are truly apart of the community and show that smaller channels are apart of UA-cam also.
I'm not sure how serious you are being here, but fuck it I'm bored so I'll address this.
There's nothing saying VSauce can't be in rewind, I just think that the top 100 (real) UA-cam channels should be featured. The less creative ones be granted less screentime (like watchmojo get 2 seconds compared to GoodMythical Morning with 10) This will show the best UA-cam has to offer via subscirbers, and then maybe open a vote on twitter for other big stars not in the top 100 and then suddenly millions of possible channels can be condenced down to a few hundred to choose from to both appeal to their fans and have a more diverse cast of creators. A lot easier than pulling names out of a hat (Which I think is what they've done here).
