This has to be one my favorite performances.
They're pretty good live. Band is tight, and he's got a great and interesting voice.
Alex C. His voice used to be even better, he was in a band called Under the influence of Giants and also Hometown Hero, both great bands
This had some autotune behind it. Helped him with his pitch. But I still aggree. I think he personally needs some work on his live pitch. This is coming from my mom and dad who are both vocal coaches...

This is the best live version I've found of this song! I think I really love this song because of how his voice doesn't match how he looks. He looks like a clean, drug free guy which is good.

It seems that the AWOL's don't mind though, we saw them in Asheville NC and he didn't say anything negative about it, (the phone watching, as for me I was dancing my ass off, mission accomplished.) They are truely in the top of the line shows I've seen live including Metallica, NIN, Janes Addiction, just saw Kaleo a few months ago, whew those guys are bad ass, DMB, The Cult, Jack White, all the homies from "grunge days". You did fuckin good Aaron, thank you again
The people in the audience were just as creepy and disturbing as how I imagined a zombie apocalypse would be minus the blood and gore. Good god put down your cell phone and experience life.

Exactly! That is one of the reasons I love Jack White so much, he said in an interview once that he discouraged cell phones at his concerts because he wanted the audience to enjoy his music, not record it.

People are here saying this performance sounds like shit. Well. When performing nightly (his voice sounds tired, hence the voice cracking that he wonderfull plays off), and using the fry yelling technique, anyones voice will get tired and worn out. So think again when saying his voice sounds like shit. In the jay leno performance, he said they were just about to start their tour. His voice sounded amazing in that performance because he most likely hadnt been performing consecutively or often before that show. But yeah. With touring and constant shows, switching between fry and regular singing technique can tire the vocalist out after a while
