During my lifetime, I've seen B'ham go through no interstates to I-65 & I-59/20. I remember when 280 was a curvy 2 lane road, all the way to Auburn. And to go on vacation in Panama City Beach FL. where I live now, you had to drive hwy 31, also a two lane road.
