    Great video!!
    Esp love the focus on rear facing towards the end. Major advocate and promoter here!!
    I'm in Europe and my son has just turned 5, he is 48lb and 119cm and still rear facing in an Axkid Minikid (which accommodates rear facing until 55lb /125cm) . . . AMAZING work!!
    Thank you for educating so many!

    You should speak to a CPST who isn't a firefighter or cop. The CPSTs who take the class because they want to are instructed to soak in more information than those doing it for work.

    • @Fathercraft
      @Fathercraft  4 роки тому

      Not sure I follow. Are they two different courses/certifications?

    • @pacochihuahua77
      @pacochihuahua77 4 роки тому +2

      @@Fathercraft No. But when you enter the class, the instructor tell us "If you are here for your job, focus on passing the test, if you're here for passion, absorb every bit." When someone becomes a CPST because it's their passion, they really do put all of their extra time into it. They will volunteer their extra time doing events. Those who do the course for work only know the bare Minimum to get them by on the job. They are paid to do the work, and they only use the information for their job. They usually don't apply the information on their own children and are often giving out misinformation. This guy's seemed pretty knowledgeable but some things could have been better articulated to be more factual. A bit of an anecdote. All police officer in my town are certified CPSTs. Rare occurrence in the USA lol. I was pulled over one time and was instructed to turn my child around to forward facing because he was over the age of two and the law is the rear face to two. They misunderstood the law and attempted to ticket me but since our traffic court is televised they really didn't want to be named and called out. 😅 My son is now 5 and still rear facing! And has room to grow.

    Wait so no anchors AND seatbelt? I JUST watched a Nuna pipa install where they said BOTH just in case 😫

      @laurynfromtheLAB Рік тому

      Actually! The manual says it’s okay to use both, phew. Some car seats shouldn’t use both

    When you’re placing baby in car, are you supposed to put the handle down for the infant seat? Or can it be left up?

    • @autumn4759
      @autumn4759 3 роки тому

      My seat says in the manual that when in the car the handle is to be left upright NOT down or behind the seat.

    • @katefuglestad9726
      @katefuglestad9726 2 роки тому

      Depends on the specific make and model of the car seat. Check the manual.

  • @alainrivera2549

    What would you suggest? I have anchors on back right and left seats but no anchors on the middle seat. Should I mount with seatbelt in the middle or with anchors on the sides?

    • @Fathercraft
      @Fathercraft  4 роки тому

      If you place your car seat in the middle the anchor straps on the car seat should be able to reach the left an right anchors of the left and right seat. Sorry that sentence is a little dizzying. Otherwise you can just use the middle seat built to strap it down.

      Fathercraft ohhh, can’t. believe I didn’t think of that. Thank you!
