- The USA National Bonsai and Penjing Collection hosts a number of world-famous and must-see bonsai. One of them is my personal favorite, a 150 year in training Trident Maple bonsai.
Also Goshin, Penelope, and the pine that survived Hiroshima can be found here. All great inspirational trees which can help you grow better bonsai. Have you ever seen a 4 ft wide Ficus bonsai? Or a 200 year old Pine bonsai?

I never felt so spoiled, Im local and see the bonsais all the time. I didnt realize how special they are. Im lucky i can see them whenever!
:) Lucky you!
Wow. Die Kiefer aus Hiroshima ist wunderschön.❤
It’s an amazing place . I went in 2022 when visiting my daughter in DC. Interesting bus journey through a rough area and then the beauty of the arboretum
I walked from capitol hill to get there :). Lovely city walk.
Awesome!!
Thank you Jella (Leatherback) I have never been to the US National Bonsai & Penjing Muesem. The founder of the bonsai club I am in was Warren Hill he was a former curator of this museum. He passed away last week. I never had the chance to meet Warren he became ill before I joined the club, I am eternally grateful to him for creating our club and bringing bonsai to my corner of the world before I ever knew about it. I am very lucky to be taught by Warren's former students.
So sorry for the loss!
But such great opportunity!
Have been there, awesome 🙏🏼🌳🇩🇰
Loved this video!!!
Thank you!!
Thank you very much for sharing your video, Jelle! Those were some fabulous trees! 💌👍
What a great place to be, thanks for the show around
Heading out there this summer. I can't wait. Thanks for the tour.
Hey Jelle
Very impressive and inspiring. I hope I can make it there one day. It would be fantastic! So many thanks to you for the compilation of these impressions. 👍🏻
Some fantastic trees there Jelle 👊👊👊
Great place to be in. 👍
Amazing tree
👍👌🙂
I have been there about 35 years ago. Goshin was there then , and the pavillions were not fully built. But are the Shohin not displayed any more?
I have not seen any !
Amerika gooit twee atom bomen op Japan en later Japan schenkt prachtige oude bonsai bomen aan hun🙄
Im glad l read your comment cause l was going to say the same thing.. l'd like to say more but this is about Bonsai 😊isn't it crazy
Indeed. That sais a lot about forgiveness and looking forward.
... it seems it would have been a beautiful memorial to the people of Japan and their fallen and the families surrounding Hiroshima versus a gift... I also found it very odd to be honest as the donating of the other trees is already so generous and seems to have shown forgiveness in itself.
We make the Japanese tourist leave Pearl Harbor Arizona memorial each year during the day of the attack instead of coming together... 😔 Very beautiful trees, thank you for showing us!
