Ah man I could cry. I played this game a year ago and loved it. Just got out of hospital and what a treat, I get to watch my favourite comfort streamer, play a comfort game of mine
I’m currently in a crisis center and Gab’s videos really help soothe me. I love this game too and was so not expecting her to play it!! It’s a good day!!
Some tips in case you'll play more of it: When the customer says they won't pay much for the potion that's because you have a weak version of potion. Try making a regular or strong version by aligning your bottle perfectly with the bottle on the map to receive more money. When you're buying ingredients there's little signs in the top right corner of each ingredient. Buy in bulk when it's green (on sale) and don't buy if red (overpriced). There's a cool reputation system in the game. You'll have higher rep if you don't haggle. You also will lose rep if you sell potions to bad people, f.e. if a shady man asks you to sell him a strong potion and doesn't say what's it for or says "don't ask me what it's for". Some will even say they plan on poisoning someone. You can refuse them and it will help you maintain your positive reputation. Or you can sell it to them to gane LOTS of money, but you'll have a bad reputation. There's also a barely visible lines that go from the center of the map to the bottles on the map, you can align this lines with the line that goes to the potion you're working on to help you achieve the highest quality of potion. Anyway, hope you'll end up liking the game as much as I do and have lots more fun with it!
also worth noting that there is up to level three for how perfectly you align it, I dont think she noticed ahah And that you can touch or even be resting in the bones without dying, it's based on how long you're in them while brewing/moving
I am so mad at myself... played this game maybe a year ago and rage quit cus i never had enough ingredients to get around the board - all the while avoiding those swirly pools thinking they'd be an obstacle like the bones... but no, they teleport you?! I'm opening the game again right now!!! While watching the rest of this vid, of course haha! Thanks Gab!!
this is a bit late (and i'm commenting early in the video) but you can also use them to align yourself to a potion. if you stay on the edge and pump the bellows, it will swirl and you'll gradually move in a circle. Eventually you'll end up in the center so you are limited to how long you can do it. you can use this to align yourself perfectly. it takes skill and i've never been able to do it myself so i've just avoided using them XD.
Literally my first thought from the first sight of the video. It only grew from there. Strange horticulture is def one of my favorite videos of Gabs, I have watched it so many times
I told my partner I really liked this game while watching you stream it and they gifted it to me on steam 💕 such a nice cozy game. The music is so relaxing!
I bought it and have put 12 hours in since watching your stream. 😅 Loving the game! You can rearrange the little page markers in the recipe book by holding down click and sliding them around. You can save different bottle designs for each different potion so when you pull from recipe book it'll have that design. The gems you buy from the miner can be used to warp over the boney areas that kill you which is why they're so pricey. Hope you stream it again. :)
I hope that you continue this for one more playthrough. Creating and saving more level 3 potions will be incredibly useful for the long term. And you'd want to use rarer ingredients of specialty multi-type potions since you know you won't be expected to make as much.
Some tips I don't see others mentioning: How much you grind up the ingredient is how far along the path your potion will travel, you can see the dark line extending as you grind. It will continue along this path even after heating the cauldron or making a potion, which is why your Strong Potion of Healing has a bit of a downward trajectory, it has some path left over. Adding a new ingredient adds to the path of the potion, it doesn't change the direction. Stopping before the end of the path and adding a new ingredient won't erase the path the potion is already on, it'll still finish that path. Adding water also doesn't cancel out the path, for that very last potion when you added too much water you still had a bit of path to go. You could have stirred and gotten the potion back up to a level 2, probably (which with the multiple effects is as high as you could have gone anyway). It's handy to over grind a potion's path a bit so if you do over water you can correct yourself! Now I need to download this game again!
You can use the dashed lines to find new potions. Aligning exactly with the potion icon gives a stronger potion. After giving a potion effect with the heat, you can continue adding ingredients and potion effects. This is necessary to make potions with multiple effects. You can load a recipe to continue brewing where you left off, to add new effects. Then you can save as a different recipe. There recipe book has a brew button so you dont have to click and drag potions to your inventory.
Big Bertha comes from WW1 when German soldiers gave howitzers that nickname after Bertha Krupp, owner of the Krupp armament works that built the howitzers.
Thank you. Your channel has been such a safe space for me these past few months. This game I might try cause it feels so chill..side note, I noticed how technically, u create the recipe right? Sooo when you quick brew, it would depend how much ingredients u will use, depending on how u discovered the potion, which means you control the ampunt of ingredients used. So cute
I will give you my SOUL to see more of this, maybe a series. this and fae farm are so good recently, atleast my favorite out of the recent content but still amazing content recently. keep up the good work gabs
Thank you for this video Gab, I really needed the cosy vibes as my grandfather passed away yesterday, it helped me think of something else for a little bit
have you ever considered Darkwood? it's a wonderful indie horror game with a great mystery storyline and the art is creepy/cozy in my opinion! highly recommend!
I hope you'll play more of this! I've been feeling sick and this has been such a comfort stream for me while I recover. I'd say it's up there with Bear and Breakfast or Stardew in terms of your comfort/cozy streams!
The art style of this game reminded me of a game that you should totally play if you haven't already, Pentiment! It's a choice based rpg game where you're trying to solve murders in a Bavarian village in the 1500s and its SO good and SO gorgeous.
Playing this game helped me calm down in a very turbulent time in my life, and it was so much fun! I love the art style and the puzzle aspect of crafting routes and perfecting recipes.
You calm demeanor is always a go to for me when I’m highly stressed or trying to calm my mind enough to sleep. The sound effects of this game is an added bonus for ASMR. 😊 Also, I appreciate that you ply variations of different games that includes horror. Since I’m too much of a scary cat to play those types of games, I can just watch your let’s play to save me from the extra fear. lol
I missed the stream because in my country we are having nation wide power outs and I couldn't even connect with my phone, but happy to finally having the time to watch it!
Honesty, I haven't even seen the video yet, but it already makes me incredibly happy. A very cool game, played by a very cool youtuber! Thank you Gab, for bringing joy to my stressful days ❤
I'm so happy that this game is getting the attention it deserves! I played most of it about 2 years ago and was waiting for some more updates, but it's great to see it's on switch now and available to a wider audience!
Love this game, and Gab's chill vibe just makes for a very pleasant experience. Edit: Thank you for teaching me to use water to go back to the centre of the map for multi-effect potions. I've been an idiot trying to go from one to the other, using a ton of ingredients in the process.
Oh my gosh this game is totally up my alley, I'm actually taking an Herbalism class. I could definitely have a lot of fun playing this, might check it out, but I'd also love to see more of you playing this game, I hope you continue to play this one on YT!!
I was so happy when she realized she doesn't need to dump every thing in at once. She can use one go out and perhaps see the potions come out of the fog.
Love this game Evelyn surprised to see you play it! I LOVE the variety in the games you play as always! Thanks for giving me something to be cozy drink tea to with a hangover haha
Big Bertha is one of my cats names 😂 She was born in the house and was the largest, chunkiest kitten of them all so she got nicknamed Big Bertha and it stuck. She mostly goes by Bertha nowadays but I always get some funny looks when people find out her name 😅
This game did a good job at keeping me invested. I was worried I would give up on trying to go further out in the map but it kept encouraging me in new ways so I enjoyed it
Please please please play more of this! I have a hard time sitting still and relaxing but this game made me park my butt down and enjoy myself for once 😭🥹🩵
Gimli showing up and the timing of this upload is perfect because of ROTK's 20th being this weekend. 17th and 18th depending on whether you want to go NA date or A/NZ date
I enjoyed this game more than I thought I would when I played it. When it comes to completing the story, aka obtaining the Philosopher's Stone, it got tedious. Some of the later potions are insane. Luck be with you and I pray for your sanity.

To be fair I think in earlier versions they might not have teleported because I played a long while ago too but the swirls never worked.
Ooh, I hope gab makes this into a series.

Big Bertha was a WW1 German siege Howitzer, and according to Wikipedia, it was one of the largest artillery pieces ever fielded.
Could be the big red fish in "Super Mario 3". :D

That's both wholesome and a little scary.
I guess it depends on what your parents had in the kitchen.
