The Vega could have been a great little car if it had a decent engine. The styling of the 2nd gen cars was better than the Pinto and Colt. It is too bad they didn't use the Opel V6 engine GM used in Europe. It put out about 140 HP and in the Vega it probably would have blown the doors off a base model Camaro. They did have small run of Cosworth powered cars but price rivaled the Corvette, so not many were sold.
My dad bought a 74 Vega brand new, exterior was green, what a pos car, it fell apart just sitting in the driveway, like they spot welded it together, we called it the Vegoid, we gave my dad he'll until he got rid of it.🤢
Just think if it had a good engine, it would have been a winner. 454 with a Doug Nash 5 speed and a narrowed 12 bolt with 32×15 tires. Now that's a Vega.
Yes....... Yet there was also the rust problems. Had the Vega received proper protection from rust, and a durable engine it could have been a giid car.
Well, you just have to admit any brand new car is good for a while 😊
What a fantastic salesman! lol 😂 I wish I had gotten a Automatic and one with a cast Iron motor from 1980.
" The fuel pump shuts off when oil pressure is lost."
That's because the engine has burned most of its oil.

Had not one but two of these turds in High School. They taught me how to add engine oil to a vehicle.
Did your fuel pump shut off ?
The ad says it does that to protect the engine . Also Chevrolet warrantee claims.
It's a feature !
I always wanted a Vega. But, my Dad said they weren't good cars because of the engine.
I think that is Bill Kurtis from the Cold Case Files tv show

What junk. Even worse than a Fiat.
