I had never heard Angels Stanton speak before, I was impressed and agreed with her 100%. You can't force a parent to accept something about their child that they don't want to, right or wrong. I'm a transwoman and my mother will always see me as her son and I'm perfectly ok with that. My parents are very supportive and extremely respectful to me. I don't mind my mom seeing me as her son, because she gives me the respect that I desire.

Now, now may I please educate you? Let me start off by saying I am a psychologist with an official degree under my belt everything I say is factually based not emotionally based, when we let our emotions rule over out choices we get dangerous results. first off let me tell you that the interviewers in this podcast were extremely respectful from the get go. They gave Angela the benefit of the doubt. Considering that not only what Angela said about Jason's mother (who is unfortunately no longer her with us) was disrespectful, uncalled for, morally, and ethically incorrect, it is just downright demeaning and ugly. Quite frankly near the end of the interview where Jason and his co-interviewers started to loose their cool and say rude things about Angela they are not justifiable but they are not exactly out of pocket they are correct and just responses to an ignorant person. And I agree you can't control how your parents react to the choices you make, quite frankly all we can do is control what WE do as people. YOU (and please if you only listen to one part of this THIS is the part you should to listen too) control your own reactions that's all their is to it, I hope you were not gifted with children because quite frankly I fear for their safety, mental health, body image, self esteem, and the impact you would hold over your children. I can in fact confirm... the world has not gone crazy! the world has simply progressed forward now you have a choice before you as we all do; live in the new world where being rude and dishonorable is wrong, or die in your old world where hatred i celebrated. The world will never be the way it was yesterday that is just not how things work people, allowing your child to express themselves is the BEST thing you can do for your child, this is scientifically, morally, and psychologically proven by our history, science, and psychological studies. This illusion that Angela holds is incorrect. Please take the time to educate yourself, not indoctrinate yourself.

Then Two of you attempted to change the opinion and words of a mother, a free American citizen who can say and think this way while loving her child and her friends who identify as whatever they want to. She has the right to feel the way she feels just as her son/daughter has the right to feel the way he feels. No wins on either end.
I don’t think Jason labeled her as ugly and a crackhead because of her choice not to accept a label, I think he said those things because of how nasty and ugly her attitude and mouth got BUT I definitely understood everything Angela was trying to say (aside for the disrespectful comments she made).

When my beautiful, now 30 year old daughter first told me that she was gay (she was around 25 at the time), it was hard pill to swallow, but I swallowed it anyway. After "coming out," she started to dress differently. Where as she use to wear makeup, high heels (my daughter is 6'1) and pretty dresses, she now wears more masculine clothing, no makeup and her once almost waist length hair has been chopped off to a fade. And, although I love her and I am happy that she is now free and happy, I mourn the loss of the daughter I once knew. I miss the daughter that spent hours shopping with me, getting our nails and hair done together I miss the daughter that would dress up and strut her 6'1 slim thick frame around in 5 or 6" heels with ease. Oftentimes, I find myself looking at old pictures of her through tears, because I am reminded of who she was and it hurts. And although I embraced the daughter that she is now, I can't help but mourn the "loss" of the daughter that was because I know I will never see 'that daughter' again.
I understand Ms. Stanton's feelings. She loves her child and IMO, she accepts her child being gay (she said he was beautiful). What she doesn't accept is how he identifies because she knows that to acknowledge his new identity, his old one must "die" and to me, there's nothing more painful than "burying" a child that is still alive.
I think that she handled herself well, considering out the gate, the interview panel was already hostile towards her because she's pro Trump.

It is a process for all involved. Some parents have no child on earth because they suicide over the trauma of all this. I know some would do it different if they had the chance, some not
Why is it that heterosexuals can't have an opinion? My son came out at 16..it broke my heart yet I told him I would love him regardless I just can't condone it.

The whole panel was passive aggressive from the start, especially Blue! Very unprofessional and hostile to someone you invited on the show. I honestly don’t see anything wrong in what Angela said, people can’t force their beliefs and opinions on other people and then get upset when they don’t agree or get in line.
I haven’t read one comment saying Angela is a terrible parent . She’s right you cannot force a parent to address their child as something they’re not.

So many parents just would stop talking to their child COMPLETELY. She obviously knows her son will wake up out of this. Her doing these interviews is her way of showing her love and fight for him in my opinion.
