We lost Douglas much too early. He was friends with Dave Gilmore, Stephen Fry (two giants, literally), and wrote for Dr. Who episodes. I require potential friends to first read "Hitchhiker's" if they haven't already. Rule Number 1: Don't Panic!
Strange how i always imagined a giant number 42 coming down from the heavens when i hear Eclipse... This is a dream come true... Hopefully we will get a good quality version someday on a Boxed set. and when we do I will be laughing like a manic.
I heard that he did this after he died, but I never knew he did it with a Danelectro. I also got a lift from a B and B owned by a man called Chris French and made him tear up twice in a minute car ride, mentioning Douglas and the Hitch and finally working out WHOSE B and B in Greenwich I'd spent the last week in. Bloody hell...you're THAT Christopher French! Yes Matthew, that's me, he said.
I wish this wasn't recorded as some kind of bootleg piece of garbage. Douglas deserved so much more. He was the ONLY celebrity that I wept for when I heard he was dead.
"thanks to roger waters whose great words I have the privilege of singing every night" - in 1994 there was a great deal of acrimony between waters and Gilmour - and although waters is credited with so many of the great Floyd songs (music and lyrics), the rest of the Floyd consider the words to indeed be roger's but the music was much more of a collaboration - and in some respects totally different than the initial water's version - so, Gilmour gives recognition to waters' "great words".
it's a bit darker - "thanks to roger waters whose great words I have the privilege of singing every night" - in 1994 there was a great deal of acrimony between waters and Gilmour - and although waters is credited with so many of the great Floyd songs (music and lyrics), the rest of the Floyd consider the words to indeed be roger's but the music was much more of a collaboration - and in some respects totally different than the initial water's version - so, Gilmour gives recognition to waters' "great words".
The answer 42 making no sense means that someone could have told you the true meaning of life many years ago, but it didn't make sense. Without context or a point of reference the answer wasn't satisfying so you didn't understand, couldn't understand. On another note, anyone know a girl in her 30's named Fenchurch who is single? Just curious
Slartibartfast on drums? RIP Doug THE BEST fiction in the last centuary, and ALL the so far NOTICED,Galaxy. Kids today, don`t know what they missed, MEET DA at the restaurant at the end of the universe I`ve booked my table, have you?
Best of British Superstars together, just missing a boy frpm Monty Python... but Graham Chapman and Douglas Adams made gags during a concert pause and didn't work.
Douglas Adams will be forever missed and loved.
So, he got to play with Disaster Area after all.
Hot Black Desiato didn't show... He's dead, for tax reasons....
[As awesome as this is, imagine how awesome it was for Douglas. Wow.]
I was there that night.
+Mark Keen Please share your memories and thoughts, Mark!
That was a great night. 1994. I remember it well. Wish he was here.

No way! I’m so jealous!
Lucky Man!
I adore Douglas Adams, David Gilmour, and Brain Damage. This video is perfect. My favourite video ever I think
Wow, Disaster Area are putting out some pretty good hits these days, every since that unfortunate incident involving the spaceship and the sun.
Disaster areas new song, the bright side of the sun, the b side is called it's hot in here
Well,I knew that Douglas was a friend of David just now!!!!!And I got this video. I AM CRYING!!!!Thank you so much.
I just cried a little bit - this is wonderful, thanks for preserving it!

Brilliant. So glad that the treasure has been found.
A wonderful birthday present that David Gilmour gave to his late friend... :)
I am not sure who was more amused, Douglas or David.
What a hoot to finally see video of this event.
Best video in the galaxy! :)
Thank you so much for uploading this.
can't handle too much epicness
Lost for 21 years, its half of 42 :)
This is so precious! 💜
I saw this performed live when it came out. International Amphitheater, Chicago, minus Mr. Adams. Great show

THIS was a TREASURE! Thank you SO much for sharing it! I will never forget watching this. SO AMAZING! I Subscribed!
Wow, thanks ! I didn't think we could watch this video one day. It''s a great day for DNA fans.
Wow. Just...wow. This is awesome. Thank you so much for sharing this. This is so magical.
That guy in the audience laughing like a maniac (how appropriate) is probably close to the sounds I'd make in that position.
For his 42nd birthday, nice. :D
Life begins at 42.
The best!!
That's heaps for sharing this.
It's amazing.
42 the meaning of live the universe and everything .

So miss Douglas. x
Amazing.
What mix of drugs was the camera operator on? Whoa.
It looked to me like he was recording covertly.
@@RoverT65536 If only he'd remembered his towel, then he could have hidden the camera under that...
"What colour is the sky in your world?" -- Frasier Crane on "Cheers," and what I would also say to the three people who gave this thumbs down ...
They probably felt sick after watching the first minute
One note. Just one note right, my friend...
where is his towel? ...awesome stuff, what a galaxy of minds right there..
He knew where his towel was.
Davvero fantsastico!!!!
Well i search Douglas Adams on Wikipedia and It says he was Born in March

☆~ epic ~☆
Finally I know what Deep Thought was referring to
Wow... My comment is #42. That's pretty froody.
That guy
Great song great concert, awful work with the video camera 😢
Do you realize that robot can hum like Pink Floyd. What else can you do, Marvin?...
🥲❤️
I got my towel...
What David said about Roger? : D

Clearly you're a hoopy frood who really knows where their towel's at. Thank you
Was Adams actually plugged in?
What he did say in the end? Did he say something about Roger Waters?
David gave recognition to Roger at every earls court show.
"Thanks to Roger Waters, who wrote those songs I have the pleasure of singing every night." Something like that.
it's a bit darker - "thanks to roger waters whose great words I have the privilege of singing every night" - in 1994 there was a great deal of acrimony between waters and Gilmour - and although waters is credited with so many of the great Floyd songs (music and lyrics), the rest of the Floyd consider the words to indeed be roger's but the music was much more of a collaboration - and in some respects totally different than the initial water's version - so, Gilmour gives recognition to waters' "great words".
Psychedelia has reached a new level on Earth that day (what are the chances? oh no...)
You mean the extraordinary filming, especially during the first minute-and-a-half? It felt like a particularly bad trip.
