I'd still wish for a game like this with a full damage model... doesn't need to impact gameplay (or make it optional) but I really, really always enjoyed a huge crash resulting in an actually wrecked car. Unfortunately any game with actual real life brand cars doesn't allow for that....

I have Played over 100 Hours in both and Forza H 4 is my favorite. It has better lighting, better seasons, better cars, better music / more American Classic cars like the 58 Plymouth Fury missing in 5 :(. The story missions are also just more fun then 5. Great Brittan is just much prettier then Mexico as well. However, don't get me wrong I still love Forza 5 as well and still plan to play it more. It is nice to have both places to visit.

If you're playing on PC then yeah it's a no brainer. The PC port for FH5 absolutely sucks. The game runs like shit and doesn't look all that much better either, in fact I think FH4 actually looks better.
So do you already play FH5? I would like to say that the graphics are better and that the one in current video have some shitty settings. Especially when it comes to antialiasing. I also HIGHLY recommend turn "temporat anti-aliasing" on 5, everything turned off (which is done automatically) and then turning DLSS on. This setting fixes the issue with foliage that otherwise look like cut from a paper. This is caused by the texture being overly sharp and the more high detail you add the worse this issue paradoxly gets. Temporal anti-aliasing and DLSS takes the corners of the foliage and blur them to your FPS and speed and makes them look muuuuuch more realistic, acting more like a volume than singular "paper stencils". (If you turn temporal anti-aliasing higher (like 10), you can see the effect being overdone, creating new artifacts and again feeling artificial)
Been playing FH4 and FH5 on PC and Xbox One. I have 10hrs in FH5 and yet I still can't tell the difference from FH4. Sure, they have new lighting, but that's about the only difference i noticed so far. The progression system feels the same to me. I dunno, I'll play a bit more, maybe something'll change but for now its not worth $60 imo
Yeah they both have to run on the original xbone, there's only so much they could change. I do like all the new volumetric lighting though, and mountains fading in the distance with atmospheric scattering. More of an art direction thing, but it gives a real sense of atmosphere.

Without the gamepass i wouldn't see a reason to move to FH5 honestly exept the engine sounds that are clearly improved, the textures of specific stuff look a bit better but wouldn't justify 60€ for a HD texture pack and a new map...

I would say forza horizon 4 is a lighter and less darker game and has slightly more physics but forza horizon 5 doesn’t have much physics and slightly more has graphics on the road
Forza horizon 5 is my first forza game and I wish they would have done the map from 4 as forza horizon 5. Cause now I don’t wanna go backwards to play 4 but the map looks so much nicer and more fun

If you're playing on PC it's worth it to play 4 instead. FH5 plays like shit on PC and honestly I think FH4 looks a bit better too. The setting of FH5 sucks. Mexico was not a good choice.

I don't know why my fh5 looks worst than fh4 graphically. The draw distances are awful, mountains ,grass, and trees will look like cake until i'm like 20 30 meters away.
Same for me and I'm running it at high settings, 4 x msaa, 1080p. It just looks a bit washed out and just not impressive in any way. FH4 looks better, more crisp.
You could play either game and equallly as much fun on both, for me FH4 i prefer, mainly the density of the map and variety in the seasons i like. The music in FH5 is garbage, FH4 tracks fit sooooo much better
@@recon1673 yep such as the legendary Aussie Charger E49. One of the first cars I owned in FH4. By gameplay I mean the whole experience which is much richer than FH5 which seems like a DLC for FH4.
The lighting, details, textures and omg I can't forget car sounds are soo much better than in FH4 even it was a good game but FH5 is true good successor.

I feel like the actual graphics are identical, the actual difference is in the lighting. FH5 has much more complex lighting, FH4 is a lot simpler and brighter. I prefer FH5's graphics but it makes sense that some people prefer the brighter colors.
Both use the same lighting system but shadows resolution is a bit better in fh5. And also added a bit better exposure. The only thing in graphics in Forza horizon 5 really better than 4, is smoke. Both game using the same lighting system.
I think the most different is the jungle and its because its not a forest like fh4. Other than that its all about lighting and less saturation in the whole game.
The games actually look pretty much the same, if anything the only noticeable changes is the smoke effect or particles or dust and sand and dirt or water, fog and lighting is better and vegetation, but other than that, it's not a big difference, so the game is just slightly updated as it seems

FH4 looks better and is just a better game. The Mexico vibe is lacking compared to 4 and the seasons add more fun and diversity. FH5 is a good game but I don't agree with all the hype it's getting. I own both and 5 made me want to play 4.

At this point even Forza Horizon 3 looks better than 5 on PC. The hotfix didn't actually fix any of the graphical problems FH5 has. Foliage is still just as bad with texture pop in and low rendering distance, even with settings on what they call "Extreme". From what I heard FH5 on consoles is running alright, but if you are on PC and you're thinking about buying FH5, well, spare yourself the trouble and don't. Not until they fix the problems with the game on PC.
the sound improvement was needed badly. 4 not only sounded fake, but the actual audio quality was very harsh, listening with high res audio hurts the ear, i would have to manually turn down treble with my DAC.
I'm sorry, but the UK is gorgeous.. And i find some cars in 4 to sound better... Plus I love ❄️☃️ Apart from better lighting and soundtrack, Horizon 5 has a few things I can't stand.. Like for instance the rev limiter being unrealistically fast, and the overly dramatic unstable engine operation when on dirt paths.

I own both . As of right now i can run FH4 4k maxed at 80ish fps. On FH5 which isn't a massive leap in visuals i can only get 40 fps on ultra. So even though many want to say that FH5 is optimized well imho it is not. Hopefully it gets polished like FH4 did, in some cases I feel FH4 looks better better nights that's for sure. Update so I went back into Forza H4 today , maxed all settings at 4k and never saw below 70 even in the city or areas where it gets heavy on the gpu and cpu. Went into Forza H5 and duplicated all my settings in FH4 at 4k and in the city or around any heavy vegetation or buildings FH5 drops to 45 ish and stays there. So yes FH5 has better graphics but again not a 40fps drop worth . Using a gtx 1080 ti zotac amp , XPL 16gb of DDR4 3000 mhz vram and water cooled 10700k on a MSI z490 mag tomahawk. Even 1440p stutters maxed for me right now. Hope FH5 gets as much love in patches as FH4 did. 🤞☺
This 'new title every year' madness should stop. We're looking at the improvements through a hyper magnifying glass while in the reality, nothing new is provided, nothing has been updated besides some minor lightning and camera changes. What a shame.
Horizon 5 is excellent for new players but since I'm coming from forza horizon 4 I got bored of horizon 5 quickly Edit : I have both games ,the difference in graphics are minimal and the difference is due to the locations ( horizon 4 in Britain and horizon 5 in Mexico) . Also the control was realistic in forza horizon 4

Avatar can get out of car during the free roaming. The ability to turn head lights on/off. The car can get totally damaged like in real accidents. Need to fill the gas ⛽️ tank like in real life. Traffic lights scheduled to turn green & red.

I like the engine sound in FH4 more, also FH5 has better graphics fidelity but FH4 map and color palette looks more eye pleasing. It is more lively and feels more at home if I may say so. In FH4 you can find more people in the city and not only there as opposed to FH5. The roads. There are more technical in FH4 primarily because they are narrower. În FH5 you don't get the same feel of speed and they are much easier to drive on so, it's kinda boring
@@TruenoVz I know, but give the developers some time to fix bugs and rendering issues, fh4 had a lot of problems back then when it was launched for PC aswell. Developers said that are currently fixing rendering issues so is just a matter of time.
They need to fix that sky in 5 it's way too bright and reflects too hard on surface. I'm down to 15 brightness already and still that mexican sun burns my retina
I bough 4 insted. 5th one focuses more on offroading and the setting for me is off a bit. Also seasons in 4 are a lot better. IDK my all cards to 4th one over 5.
Forza Horizon 5 looks like Forza Horizon 4's DLC . At least, Forza Horizon 5 should have time adjustment, rain and snow adjustment, Adjusting the Seasons, and a 900 degree steering wheel animation. The rain in Assetto Corsa is more real than that. I personally wouldn't spend that much money on this game.
Here's the thing I miss about Forza Horizon 4, the view distance! Forza Horizon 5 has a terrible draw distance that I am really disappointed with, yes that means I get higher frames, but with a game like this, I'd rather get the highest quality at 60 fps than textures loading in last minute with 100 fps, its really making me consider going back to Forza Horizon 4 just so I can have that better draw quality. If you're wondering what GPU I have, I have a RX 6700 XT, with a Ryzen 5 3600
I don't know about you but after a few hours of playing, I feel ripped off, forza horizon 5 is like empty, I don't feel as hyped as when I was on fh4, it's really weird and the graphics are not so impressive even less than on fh4, Mexico really does not thrill me at all, and I bought the game at a high price of 70 € on the Microsoft store, frankly nothing famous even less than fh4 which had the air more alive and the landscape much more alive there Map better done, the houses in Mexico I have the impression of being on farcry and it looks like it is slums it is not as beautiful as the British houses I am disappointed...

Apparently FH5 is much better on wheel, more realistic better feeling. For that only I'd consider buying it. Because sim racing games tend to have either poor graphics or bland gameplay, forza would be more fun.

I don't know why my fh5 looks worst than fh4 graphically. The draw distances are awful, mountains ,grass, and trees will look like cake until i'm like 20 30 meters away.
Same for me and I'm running it at high settings, 4 x msaa, 1080p. It just looks a bit washed out and just not impressive in any way. FH4 looks better, more crisp.
They will fix it, u are probably on pc, i have that issue too
It's probably this game hasn't got any patch updates yet, it's still brand new so it will take some time for the devs to fix the game
Draw distance and details scale with res in fh5, if you want more details you need to downsample you res. So set it to like 1440p or 4k.

The scenery in FH4 is more colorful and prettier.
You could play either game and equallly as much fun on both, for me FH4 i prefer, mainly the density of the map and variety in the seasons i like.

One of the first cars I owned in FH4. By gameplay I mean the whole experience which is much richer than FH5 which seems like a DLC for FH4.

Very happy with my already owned FH4 so I skipped FH5. Just waiting eagerly for the new upcoming Forza Motorsport.
0:43 here you can see that FH4 has 2D models for some people, while in FH5 they are all in 3D.
But forza horizon 4 is only 89 gb all dlc included will forza horizon 5 is 109 gb even without any dlc . So make sense .

I feel like the actual graphics are identical, the actual difference is in the lighting. FH5 has much more complex lighting, FH4 is a lot simpler and brighter. I prefer FH5's graphics but it makes sense that some people prefer the brighter colors.
Both use the same lighting system but shadows resolution is a bit better in fh5. And also added a bit better exposure. The only thing in graphics in Forza horizon 5 really better than 4, is smoke. Both game using the same lighting system.

The graphics are clearly better on FH5 on XSX. Playing FH4 & FH5 back to back on XSX the difference is instantly obvious

The games actually look pretty much the same, if anything the only noticeable changes is the smoke effect or particles or dust and sand and dirt or water, fog and lighting is better and vegetation, but other than that, it's not a big difference, so the game is just slightly updated as it seems

I have 4 and 5 on my Xbox 5 is really good don’t get me wrong but I have a lot of time invested in 4 they should have made the transition better like allowing you to take a few of your most successful cars over and mainly in my opinion your game credits it’s hard to start back at zero in 4 I have 98mil hard earned credits
FH4 looks better and is just a better game. The Mexico vibe is lacking compared to 4 and the seasons add more fun and diversity. FH5 is a good game but I don't agree with all the hype it's getting. I own both and 5 made me want to play 4.
I hated seasons and no offense but the UK map was boring af. No variation whatsoever. Love Mexico though. Much better vibe for a Horizon festival.

At this point even Forza Horizon 3 looks better than 5 on PC. The hotfix didn't actually fix any of the graphical problems FH5 has. Foliage is still just as bad with texture pop in and low rendering distance, even with settings on what they call "Extreme". From what I heard FH5 on consoles is running alright, but if you are on PC and you're thinking about buying FH5, well, spare yourself the trouble and don't. Not until they fix the problems with the game on PC.

the sound improvement was needed badly. 4 not only sounded fake, but the actual audio quality was very harsh, listening with high res audio hurts the ear, i would have to manually turn down treble with my DAC.

Apart from better lighting and soundtrack, Horizon 5 has a few things I can't stand.. Like for instance the rev limiter being unrealistically fast, and the overly dramatic unstable engine operation when on dirt paths.

I own both . As of right now i can run FH4 4k maxed at 80ish fps. On FH5 which isn't a massive leap in visuals i can only get 40 fps on ultra. So even though many want to say that FH5 is optimized well imho it is not. Hopefully it gets polished like FH4 did, in some cases I feel FH4 looks better better nights that's for sure.
Update so I went back into Forza H4 today , maxed all settings at 4k and never saw below 70 even in the city or areas where it gets heavy on the gpu and cpu. Went into Forza H5 and duplicated all my settings in FH4 at 4k and in the city or around any heavy vegetation or buildings FH5 drops to 45 ish and stays there. So yes FH5 has better graphics but again not a 40fps drop worth . Using a gtx 1080 ti zotac amp , XPL 16gb of DDR4 3000 mhz vram and water cooled 10700k on a MSI z490 mag tomahawk. Even 1440p stutters maxed for me right now. Hope FH5 gets as much love in patches as FH4 did. 🤞☺
imo, FH4 is much better regarding PC ver. optimization! FH5 has a lot of visual and performance issue!

FH5 runs perfect, and even better than fh4 for me, it's on a case by case basis bc PCs can have countless bugs

Edit : I have both games ,the difference in graphics are minimal and the difference is due to the locations ( horizon 4 in Britain and horizon 5 in Mexico) . Also the control was realistic in forza horizon 4

I like the engine sound in FH4 more, also FH5 has better graphics fidelity but FH4 map and color palette looks more eye pleasing. It is more lively and feels more at home if I may say so. In FH4 you can find more people in the city and not only there as opposed to FH5. The roads. There are more technical in FH4 primarily because they are narrower. În FH5 you don't get the same feel of speed and they are much easier to drive on so, it's kinda boring

Forza Horizon 5 looks like Forza Horizon 4's DLC . At least, Forza Horizon 5 should have time adjustment, rain and snow adjustment, Adjusting the Seasons, and a 900 degree steering wheel animation. The rain in Assetto Corsa is more real than that. I personally wouldn't spend that much money on this game.

Here's the thing I miss about Forza Horizon 4, the view distance! Forza Horizon 5 has a terrible draw distance that I am really disappointed with, yes that means I get higher frames, but with a game like this, I'd rather get the highest quality at 60 fps than textures loading in last minute with 100 fps, its really making me consider going back to Forza Horizon 4 just so I can have that better draw quality.

I don't know about you but after a few hours of playing, I feel ripped off, forza horizon 5 is like empty, I don't feel as hyped as when I was on fh4, it's really weird and the graphics are not so impressive even less than on fh4, Mexico really does not thrill me at all, and I bought the game at a high price of 70 € on the Microsoft store, frankly nothing famous even less than fh4 which had the air more alive and the landscape much more alive there Map better done, the houses in Mexico I have the impression of being on farcry and it looks like it is slums it is not as beautiful as the British houses I am disappointed...

FH5 is a bland experience with a new map slapped on FH4 thats it.
Apparently FH5 is much better on wheel, more realistic better feeling. For that only I'd consider buying it. Because sim racing games tend to have either poor graphics or bland gameplay, forza would be more fun.
