Tom Ellis (Lucifer, Miranda) joins us this week to give his uniquely ironic experience in this industry - going from growing up in a family of baptist ministers to playing the lead in the hit series Lucifer. Tom talks about overcoming impostor syndrome while filming certain episodes and shares the crazy story of how a rogue tweet helped save the show from being cancelled. We also talk about adopting an American dialect, his background in theater with James McAvoy, and his issue with actors using social media.

I think its so rare now a days that a show gets a proper ending... When Lucifer ended, it felt complete. A movie would be fantastic though!!!!
I don't think a movie would work (unless they made a few sequels). Too many things to fit in.
I think it could work, but like Tom Ellis said, it has to be good. It has to be written well and it has to be cohesive enough to fit in with the already finished package that the show is. @@z3n_z

Although it did feel complete at the end, it left me a bit heartbroken. This show made me laugh out loud, cheer for "the devil" for the first time in my life, and cry like a baby several times. I loved every single minute of it. And I will forever be in love with Tom Ellis!❤

Nah as much as I adore Lucifer and Chloe their story is done it’s finished and imo it ended perfectly, I do think a spin-off with Rory and Charlie would be awesome though
I'd be happy to see a Lucifer movie, but I agree the story would have to be good. Otherwise, I'd love to have seen how Lucifer and Constantine got tangled up in the first place. But, yeah: we got 6 great seasons of Lucifer.
I hope we see Constantine and Gaudium.

This month he said in Mexico that he could come back as a supporting actor in a spin-off, or with movies. So, never say never.
I feel that Tom Ellis is another talented actor whose stardom will fall from the sky because he cannot get interesting enough parts after lucifer to keep him in the public eye. Lightning striking twice is essential for an actor to succeed in this industry. One hit wonders don’t survive! Tom is still a brand name, thanks to the success of lucifer, but he must not squander this privileged position and must be on the hunt to find that second lightning strike. I think a smart move for Tom is to appear in a good supporting role along side a movie star in a major Hollywood blockbuster to broaden his appeal, especially in a role that is the complete opposite of lucifer. Henry Cavill followed superman up with a big part on mission impossible, showing his diversity as an actor, then blew it out of the water with The Witcher. Now he can pick his movies very easily.

I think he should be the next Dr Who. He covers all the range in emotion and his cheekiness would be brilliant.

What we really want as fans is Michael Rosenbaum and Tom Welling to return for a smallville movie where smallville gives up his powers to be a family man making the crisis on earth cameo full circle.
I love b/c he played a devilishly dashing and handsome guy on the show, but in real life he is just a down to Earth father and nice sweet guy. You find alot of these super handsome guys (Mentalist, Hugh Jackman, etc.) are as down to Earth as it gets. I agree w/ Tom they did it all for TV and did it well.
You do realise that this is the type of down to earth guy that cheated on his former wife for their entire marriage.
@@longjohn5322 No I didn't. To be honest I didn't really watch his show religiously (pun intended). I just saw a couple of episodes and liked it and I am not like a mega fan of his to where I follow his life and such. If he did that all I can say is that stinks and is weak on his part.

Tom Ellis would be perfect phantom of the opera . I really loved to a new story of phantom of the opera and Tom to Play Erik ( phantom ) … he is great and his role in tell me lies season 2 would be amazing

Some people say with Sandman there can't be a Lucifer's sequel, but on a podcast (I don't remember if this one) he said Netflix wanted more seasons, but they decided to finish it in S6, to no take risks like on FOX, and close an era. But they would love to come back somehow. When that happened, Sandman was in pre-production or filming it, so Netflix knew Sandman would be there.
DC and Marvel are doing several versions of several superheroes at the same time. So I don't think it is the reaso why Lucifer can't come back.
I watch Miranda every few months over and over. Absolutely the UK is like that.
Sure, the UK would never repeatedly run a show in the ground over and over incessantly recasting the main character and reinventing the rules.
If there ever is a new Lucifer movie, it needs to have a Holy war with the aestethic of the Valkery scene in Thor: Ragnarok.

I also think there is room for Lucifer to come back with a new story line where Lucifer comes back working as
a special asset of some secretive part of the military trying to prevent wars and treachery around the planet
and dealing with escaped demons and maybe extra terrestrials there would be a ton of story line for something like this

I hope we see a sequel just after S6. Chloe and Lucifer in the penthouse (in Hell), where Chloe tells Lucifer to visit their family on Earth for her funeral, and because Rory would need some help with those emotions, and maybe we could get a better explanation of the Time Loop and what happened during 40 years. Then they make a new flashforward to show us the New Era.
And a Deckerstar Wedding where Chloe becomes an archangel.
I would prefer a new series with the old and the new generation, but I would be fine with several movies.

It’s unfortunate but Netflix will never do a movie because they have Lucifer in Sandman. Which is technically where Tom’s Lucifer came from. The show Lucifer was so incredibly good though. I wish there were more tv series that took a shot at trying to give a perspective or heaven and hell. Angels and demons. God and Lucifer. Good and evil. It’s an extremely interesting subject but not many successful series have pulled it off, let alone attempted it. Hope someone comes along and does something a tad bit more real and dark than what Lucifer was. I loved the lighthearted feel that show had about the Devil, but it would be interesting to see something opposite to that.

"leave them wanting more" is just another way of saying "leave them dissatisfied". If Miranda didn't want to write another season, she shouldn't have ended on a cliffhanger. I'm glad she finally gave it an ending, but it was clear she half-assed it, and it wound up ending poorly (they seriously made it her fault he left her at the alter? He couldn't love her as she was, like the rest of us did?). Just stop doing cliffhangers! Lucifer did a great job of providing viewers with closure. That is how you leave an audience feeling contented!
I think that, using Brianna Hildebrand as the tie in, they should come up with some kind of Lucifer - Deadpool movie. She could be Rory in disguise in a Deadpool setting. Maybe get in trouble some how and need Lucifer (her Dad) to make an appearance to save her. Would love to hear the banter between Lucifer and Deadpool.
Maybe the sequel could start right after S6 Ending, where Rory feels guilty and her father helps her with that guilt (she said she was fine, but I think it couls resurface).
I think a movie could be something really good, maybe patch up the huge wrongs Season 6 has done. I loved Lucifer, but honestly really disliked, not to say hated, the final Season. A lot of the characters, but specifically Chloe and Lucifer himself, felt completely...off in comparison to prior seasons. That of course was capped off in the Final episode with Luci agreeing to go back to Hell, just cause "Fate" aka Rory said so. All five Seasons before he never bought into all the Fate nonsense, just to then go "Oh yeah, no, forget about that".
Also what bothered me was Chloe voluntarily deciding to go to Hell to live the rest of time with Lucifer, when literally all her friends and family are in Heaven. Of course the Detective loves Lucifer, but say Season 3 Chloe would've never left her family alone just to be with a Man.
Admittedly, I was rather disappointed in Sandman when it was Gwendelyne Christie who turned around in Hell. While I am fond of Christie, Lucifer was a Netflix show, why not just have Ellis and Brandt playing their respective roles? They even got an actress who resembled Brandt, for crying out loud.
Because the lucifer tv show bares little resemblance to the comic. It's technically the same character but they took some herfy artistic liberties. Tom is great but doesn't fit with Sandman.

Blah blah blah have everybody waiting for more and then what you get into the car accident and die and we don't get s*** come on this is your best part ever might as well live it😮 it's like Charleston Heston with the Ten Commandments not many people remember him as Planet of the Apes but a lot of people remember him as Moses you get to play a part that changes every time instead of has already been done how cool would that be like there is no ending and how messed up the devil can make your life
