Such an underrated coaster in such an underrated park!! Maybe I'm biased since Knoebels is the park I grew up going to, but they easily have some of the best rides and food at any park you'll ever go to. You can't beat the value either.
@@thebradinator5683 I have yet to go to Cedar Point but I've been to Great Adventure a few times. They do have some good coasters there but I certainly would not call it a better park overall. A lot of the reasons why are because it is in fact owned by Six Flags. That part would be so much better if a new owner bought it, cleaned it up, and lowered the prices. Paying $30 to park your car is outrageous, as is the admission cost. I've been to King's Island and thought that was a far superior park. So is Holiday World and frankly I would put Hersheypark ahead of them too. @@mhtube01 I live in Metro Detroit so Cedar Point is a bit closer than Kings Island but it sure is a great park and the location being near dense woods is nice as well. Great Adventure had some rides you won’t find elsewhere such as El Toro, but overall most of the rides are fairly bland. At least to me. Nitro was about the other only standout for me. Six Flags is a fairly poorly ran company and I say this with Six Flags over Texas and Fiesta Texas being my home parks.
Twister at night is unreal. Especially during the Halloween season. It ranks higher than Phoenix for me at least. Such a forceful ride with the best headchoppers out there.
Twister is a muscular and exciting ride, very underrated. I have a hard time anywhere but in the front seat, but from there, I think it’s my favorite coaster.
I grew up just eight blocks from the Original Elitch Gardens and so I new Mr. Twister very well and could hear the screams from the top of the hill every night it was open. It was a pretty huge ordeal when they decided to move the park into the Downtown Denver area and had to take the coaster down board by board and rebuild it at the present location! We were also only 10 blocks away from Lakeside Amusement park too!
They redesigned it and built it from scratch at the new location. It wasn’t relocated from the old park. The original was demolished and Twister II has all new wood.
OK I grew up riding the original in Denver, and it was a great coaster but this looks better in every way. Certainly faster. I might have to get out and ride this someday.
They are, it feels like you're going at least 1.5 times as fast as you are during the day! It's so dark and you can't really see anything except for the station, lift hills, and the blinding camera flash haha. By far one of the best night rides on a roller coaster I've been on.

very interesting layout! though the second lift hill seems like a waste of time just to make going up the first one interesting, seeing the track above you and everything. but overall i still like the way it looks
I think the reason for that is that this ride is a tribute to Mr. Twister, but they couldn't fit the lift hill of Mr. Twister into the space available without splitting it.
They didn't have much room to work with, so they added a second lift to save space. So basically, have the second lift and have a coaster or no second lift and no coaster.

PLEASE NO, NEVER!!! I highly doubt Knoebel’s would ever do this. They aren’t the kind of park to convert a classic style wooden coaster to a crappy hybrid coaster. This was an altered recreation of the original Elitch Gardens Twister, they purchased the blueprints and made alterations to make it fit their park when Elitch Gardens closed their original location in 1994. The roughness is what makes it great, and even then, I’ve been on way rougher coasters, some steel or hybrid even. Every wooden coaster is supposed to get track sections replaced every year, most parks just don’t put in the effort because they’re lazy. The Knoebel family puts in that effort because they appreciate and adore these coasters like Twister and Phoenix and want to see them remain in proper operation and not converted to crazy painful rides that aren’t classic. You’re not gonna like every ride. You just have to accept that and move on. You can have your opinion that it’s bad, but the park isn’t gonna mess with a great thing so many enjoy. I think a retrack hybrid would ruin it, and that’s my opinion. You’re in the minority here. Most people love this ride, and I’d argue it’s better than Phoenix.
