That empty spot in the movies archway intro always bothered me, like, why not throw in someone else if you're not going to remake Timmy? I want to know the thought process.
I don’t know if it has anything to do with his disappearance, but being called “Timmy Monster” does make him feel more in line with the naming scheme of a Sesame Street character, which leans into that “Monster” branding a lot harder.
So, in other words, whenever they needed a new puppet, Jim Hanson would say “We’re gonna need another Timmy!” Edit: in a complete middle aged brain fart I didn’t even mention the connection that Hensons shop was also responsible for the Dinosaurs show characters.
i think Timmy was absent in The Muppets for both budget and thematic purposes since the muppets (2011) is a reunion show years later, many of those types of productions can’t get the every original cast member back, and obviously they couldn’t do a movie without the mains or prominent secondaries, so the choice to only rebuild some of the background characters but not all was likely done to accomplish that. and also, of the 5 “arch” monsters, Timmy makes the most sense to cut. Sweetums was too iconic to, Thog had much more personality, and the mutations just need their hands, heads, and feet built. Timmy is just kinda the “other blue monster” so of the ones to save money on, he was probably the best choice still I have a soft spot for background characters, not just with the muppets, so Timmy returning would be cool to see. (they brought back Doglion so anything is possible)
I announced who I'll be talking about this month on my community page-Limbo is actually one of them! Pretty well-known online, but still really worth talking about
Just want to say how much I really enjoy your videos! They make me think about minor things in the Muppets universe in ways I haven't before and make me understand things better. Like with Timmy for example, I didn't even know that the 2 designs shown before his final one was even meant to be the same muppet! Thought they were always different muppets. I do really agree though, why on Earth did they not include Timmy in the 2011 film? or at least get literally any muppet to fill the awkwardly empty spot? It's weird.
I really like your in depth explanations and research! :D l find it really strange that in the Muppet movie he's not in that arc lol , Hey in you videos I would recommend you use a blue yeti microphone! They are pretty cheap and good quality :)
I actually really like Timmy's first design. I really like how Unique his eyes are, but I can see why they wanted to redesign him, the body is kinda bland, but I would have kept the eyes personally.
My personal Headcanon is that Timmy died and keeping his spot on the archway empty was his Muppet bretherins way of honoring him.
Muppets lore is something I didn’t know I needed till this channel
This Muppet is a true chameleon. I saw him in the opening sequence of the Muppet Show but never even knew he had a name! Excellent video!

the blank empty space in the 2011 film is so awkward and noticeable, i dont understand why they didnt put someone there if not him
That first Timmy design looks like the love child of Cookie monster and those aliens.
Poor timmy, the fact there's just nobody in the archway where timmy was is just sad to me lol
It's actually pretty respectful they never replaced him, but it's also very weird too.
Now that Thog and Timmy have been covered, I’m curious about The Mutations.
Interesting how he never had a consistent fur color too, he was quite the chameleon
Honestly, I think it’s just the lighting and image quality of his appearances-I guess Timmy just isn’t that camera friendly...
My absolute favorite big muppet monster!
I wonder where Timmy’s Treats is. I’d love to one day go there and show Timmy this video. I love these deep dive videos so much.

I understood that reference
@@jackielantern6 😁
I love Dinosaurs so much! Nice to see it referenced lol.
Now that's a killer reference.
@@thehonoredone2361 That was a killer show, lol. The “happy plant” episode is a favorite of mine.
I like you talked about the Ethel merman episode!! I was always confused on why Muppet wiki never covered it
Yeah-I have no idea what’s going on there...

Great work. Very interesting indeed.
This is Definitely a Great Video.👍
Awesome video, I'm glad I decided to click on this one.
You should do Doglion sometime and also great video
Doglion's design always reminded me of a Wild Thing.
I’ve seen that episode with Timmy . Glad to know more about him . I honestly thought he was carols sidekick
Timmy's early design looks almost like Cookie Monster.
One creepy Muppet character I would love to see: Limbo. He is unnerving and has quite a bit of history
I announced who I'll be talking about this month on my community page-Limbo is actually one of them! Pretty well-known online, but still really worth talking about
@@MuptownFunk Great! I have a creepy fascination towards him, so I'm glad he's gonna be talked about!
Timmy's "Muppet Snow White" appearance is in the fourth part, on the two page speread where Big Mean Carl introduces his monster friends.
Timmy truly is an enigma, like seriously why did they change hus design so much
*his
I’ve learned so much from this channel. It’s great.
P.S I also have a cold.

I used to think monitors on chests were the norm for full-bodied puppets.
Man I forgot so much about Timmy Monster or something he's one of the characters you will see in the plots lol.
Can you cover Behemoth?
I really like your in depth explanations and research! :D

Keep makin' these videos.
What about Shakey sanchez, piano monster and other monsters
4:38 MAKEUP!!!!
5:37 is that a full body cat Muppet?!
That's Mean Mama, she's supposed to be a rabbit, I think

Can the next episode please be about sweetums ?
Could you do a deep dive for Mo Frackle?
Would u do deep dives on doglion and sweetums please
I wish they replaced him for doglion
Do Sam the Eagle
I prefer the 2nd one
