Huawei and Xiaomi are only among the major brands that prioritize battery life.
Well Coros, Suuntos and Garmin are the ones prioritize battery. But they are sportswatch first and smart watch second.
I'm a high school teacher and coach and this would be perfect for when I'm in the classroom and in season and forget to charge my watch. 14 days holding a charge is crazy!

This is probably the best smart watch I’ve seen! The batter life is amazing and would help track my sleep for sure

The Green version is clearly the best out of the bunch. I would use it for workouts mainly and casual night outs with the boys. Also the heart rate tracker would be a nice to have on a daily.

I’m jumping to galaxy S24U in January when it comes out because as a long time Apple consumer I feel I don’t get much for my money. I have been scared of the upcoming transition but seen my twin brother using his galaxy S23U, I feel embarrassed to pull out my iPhone 14 Pro Max 😂 blessings Karl.
I would just use it for my regular daily watch especially because of that battery life...

Nice review! As a watch enthusiast I am glad I came across your video because I've been looking for a smartwatch that also looks more like a watch and not a gadget.
The battery life is really amazing. I the moment I have a Fossil Hybrid watch which also has about 2 Weeks of Battery life but it has a E-Ink display and that is slow and not so nice to look at. I would use the Huawei Watch for sport but because it looks so good I would love to wear it when I go out.
I just got mine and it is very useful. Went to hongkong almost 2 weeks ago and still has almost 20% battery left. Useful for cycling too, you can upload routes, and it has maps.
I had the first gen of the Huawei smartwatch but the pins on the charger has scratched the connector on the back of the watch over time and its hard to get the watch to charge and i enjoyed the watch a lot and if i do get selected for the giveaway watch ill continue using the watch daily as i have been doing with the first gen. I was using the watch for work to keep track of the time since I'm a mailman and also keep track of my steps and calories.
Damn that battery life, crazy! Definitely looking for an upgrade for better sleep and workout stats... mighty impressive Huawei!
I’m a big fan of hiding technology - I want the benefits but without seeing it. Used to have a Withings which was fantastic but not very practical for running as the screen was too small. This looks like a strong option for a watch that looks analogue but is also practical for running.

Yes, I'd like to know if maps running on Android work. Do maps run on the phone like Garmin smart watches or is it just direction arrows linking to Google maps on your phone?

Been having to keep a close eye on my heart rate lately, the most awkward thing is i have to use a blood pressure cuff to do so. I had looked into some smart devices, but the expense is a bit much at current. I want something i know will be accurate
I would use it to finish losing the last 53lbs I need to lose to reach my goal weight. I've been using the Pixel Watch 2 and it's ok for the most part. Battery life is abysmal and it's a little sluggish when it comes to tracking my workouts. I didn't even know Huawei made smart watches. It looks very high end.
I would use the watch to upgrade from huawei watch fit 2 and keep tracking my gym Workouts & Running Sesions

I had the Gt 2 that lasted 4 years but broke and then I bought a Garmin that's 4x the price and didn't even last a month and was so luggy. I've now ordered the GT4 and I am super excited

HUAWEI need to allow the ability to delete the incorrect recording of “nap” (when watching TV for example) that are added to sleep resulting in wrong sleep recording.

e-Sport is a valid sport. Why? Because when you're in a competitive match, your reflexes are fast, your brain works fast, your heartratenis going up, you get adrenalin rush... Just watch a match of any e-Sport andnthen look at the players in the end. They are sweaty, exhausted, tired...

Display is terrible. Clock hands have rough edges, fonts are blurry. Scrolling is a trauma. Even kids watchs have better display than this .

I want one to track my heart rate etc because of a tumor in my adrenal gland that was just found after half a year of going back and forth between doctors and having to pay for a CT scan etc. Luckily likely non-malignant but active, meaning it influences hormone production. Cortisol in my case, mainly. So my health is going every way but the right way ATM. It also seems to be growing quickly atm and becoming painful. So... how that's not malignant, I don't understand. I'm doubting between this one, the ticwatch 5, galaxy 6 classic or one with the blood pressure measurement rubber pockets in the cuffs in order to be able to track real blood pressure accurately, like the fitband 8 from Huawei or bpdoctor etc. Mine spikes up to 227 with a heart rate of 115 while lying down from time to time ATM.

I used to wear Samsung Galaxy Active 2. It was ok but the battery life really disappointed me. I've just bought Huawei GT4 46mm. Haven't wore yet it's still in the box. I hope the battery life wouldn't be as bad as active 2
Hi @GSMArenaOfficial why don't you mention that since January 15th only Chinese creators are allowed to publish watch faces for Huawei? Regardless of region of the world you live in. Old watch faces are still here, but no new designs from outside of China now 🙈🙈🙈
It is almost a good fitness watch but... Heart rate is inaccurate (for me) when running as it locks on to my running cadence not heart rate so I have to use an external sensor. The GPS track is inaccurate (smoothed) so you cut corners, lots of broad sweeps. It does not upload HR data to Strava. It does not link to TrainingPeaks. You can't download the data directly (.fit or .tcx formats) so essentially a closed ecosystem. No calendarised structured training. No website to peruse running data. In fact, come to think of it, not a good fitness watch.😐

Can you do another review after using it for a few months? I’ve been using it for a few weeks, got the black version… use it with iOS and the experience is nothing like using it with android

I'm very happy with the watch but would like to plot movement on 3rd party maps. Huawei Health app supports Petal and Google Maps but I would like to use others, in real time. Does anyone know if this can be done and if so how?

I had the GT2 pro with so many free watch faces but i recently got the GT4 watch and now this option is gone, when i go to the app on my phone and check the watch faces nothing comes up, I can only see the paid faces and there isnt an option for free, why is this? how can it be fixed?

It's pretty nice tbh. I currently have the huawei gt2 pro and it's getting worn out with the touch and all. I'd like the upgrade I always wear the watch and use it for sports/gym and go swimming in valleys and hiking with it
this would be as an upgrade for my gt2 pro and would be used for the extra health features. i have used my current watch from new for 5 yrs now and the battery life still lasts for 10 days or so

Funny, that's exactly what keeps me from the apple watch - I dislike the shape. I used to have a GPS watch which was great but very big and I definitely like the more elegant looks :)

But the Huawei GT2 Pro very generous with the step count. Great watch though!
I'm still using the GT2 and it runs great, battery still lasts for well over a week, I'm not sure how long it will last as its never run out.
I really dig this watch but does it have maps for hiking? If it does then I'm getting this over Garmin. I will obviously use it for hiking and trail riding.
Absolutely love Huawei Watches. I've had two so far; the GT and the GT2. I still use the GT2 since 2019. I use it for biking, gym / strength workout, sleep (sleep tracking is mind blowing). The battery life is amazing, it is the only watch offering this kind of quality with 2 weeks of battery life. If I would get a GT4, I would definitely continue to use it to monitor my workouts and exercise in general, sleep... Really is too bad Huawei has been demonized in the West because they had some of the best phones too. Nice review.

I would use this to track my heart rate at work. I'm an Amazon delivery driver so I do a lot of walking, running, and lifting.
IMO, from a price and funtionality perspective, the GT4 comes out top for me.
