- For hundreds of years Jews have been moving to Israel but outside of wartime or heightened antisemitism communal Aliyah is rare if not unheard of. In this episode we explore Afula, a community in Northern Israel which is slated to be the future home of a community seeking a better Jewish life in the Holy Land.

Making Aliyah is a powerful experience. Finding a community to call your own makes you feel you've finally come home.
100% It is pretty amazing how the practice of religion makes for a great cultural bridge when arriving in Israel. Shabbat, the holidays, the calendar, the daily prayers, Torah schools, etc.
Thus is putting a huge smile on my face, so lovely to see

Meaning
Aliyah means "ascent" or "rise" in Hebrew, and for generations of Jews, going to Israel has been viewed spiritually and geographically as an upgrade. Now aliyah has come to refer to the process of obtaining citizenship and residency by moving to the state of Israe

you clearly have no idea what you're talking about. you're probably deep into a rabbit hell hole of algorithms feeding you misinformation. Israel literally just had a government majority ruling coalition with arab parties on it. Check your sources or your definition of apartheid. Regarding check points, they are there to prevent terror attacks and have been wildly successful at saving innocent lives... arab, christian and jewish lives. Unfortunately, those arabs living in the "disputed" territories are having a difficult time going to work in the undisputed parts of Israel and it is the extremists who ruin it for everyone, cause tremendous bloodshed and make their corrupt terrorist leaders rich in the process.

My parents were evicted in the Nakba of 1948 by the nightly Haganah barrel bombs rolled down the streets in non-Jewish neighborhoods in Haifa. And now, Israel widely recognized as an apartheid state. One day, justice will prevail.
@@xili2140 i don't accept you're premise that israel is stolen land. BUT even within your perspective, please answer the following:
1. Palestinian Authority has a death penalty to arabs who sell land legally to a Jew. Will you publically disagree with that law? Privately? PHow about similar anti jew laws under section 78 ottoman legal code? Its a yes or no question...is that the "justice" system you're advocating for? A justice system that codifies racism into law? In 2022?! That's what Jews should welcome upon themselves? This is your solution to the conflict?
2. Both Jews and Arabs were displaced when the British left. They lived as neighbors in places like nachalot shimon aka sheikh jarrah. War is terrible beyond measure. Im not minimizing anyone's suffering. Its awful. There's been warring for more than 100 years. But now what? How long will this war continue? The terror makes things worse for arabs, not better. Go ask Jerusalem arab residents if they want a nice big house in Rawabi ("build by arabs for arabs") and they'll opt to live in diverse Jerusalem so their children don't lose the opportunities arab residents have here. Claims of apartheid? Such amnesia oversimplifications are misleading and nfounded and insulting to Africans who lived truly under apartheid eg. arabs are elected to kennesst, college, etc. etc etc You can point to hagana from 1940's, Indians can point to pilgrims, Mexicans can point to californians and texans who took their land etc. Its an endless rabbit hell hole filled with blood. Im not ignoring suffering ....but politely asking until when? If your answer is not until there's a dream government of yours then please explain....is that dream country of yours a place where a citizen who sells land to a jew will be murdered by its own government "justice" system "legally" ... if so, then anyone who supports such a cause is either grossly misinformed or evil. Period.

Have you seen "Come and See?" ua-cam.com/video/zjIiApN6cfg/v-deo.html Its an award winning film (not necessarily about Jews/holocaust) about the evil Nazi's but from a Polish villagers perspective with deep, very deep, message about the horrific impact war has on people. I and you have no idea what the WWII days were like. We also can't grasp the battles that the Arabs and Jews were already engaged in against each other for decades. I'm not writing off anything as an excuse for horrific bloodshed, but lets not fool ourselves into looking at the picture with selective memory or self bias. I haven't seen Farha but its already being touted as a one sided perspective against Jews in Israel. This is a longer discussion...but "Jews in Israel" is a very general characterization and during the time's in 1948 there were very very different ideologies amongst the groups living in the Holy Land at the time. I'm saying this because that was then and this is now. If you are still advocating that the war started in 1948 and continues until this day and should always continue until some goal is reached and somehow that is what is best for Jews and Arabs and other ethnicities in the region, then I can't disagree strong enough. That logic makes about as much sense as Mexians living in Arizona and Texas and California strapping on suicide vests, bombs and knives to try and win back the land that the united states took from mexico. Will that benefit anyone other than the leaders of the militias waging war? Almost certainly not.
