I do miss Staten Island even though most don't want to count it as one of the 5 boroughs it still to me is a great city with some amazing pizza. I have lost track how many times I rode the SI Ferry, my grandma used to take me out when I was a kid. Thank You Zack for the great memories, and I hope they had some Bud Light for Fenway Chris.
I had no idea of the Ferry Hawks existed. I live in New York! I was impressed by your sweet swing Zack. Did you know that baseball originated/started in Great Britain!
I love your behind the scenes and access videos like this- and I have always wanted to ride the ferry in NYC and see views of NYC- as I have had an interest in NYC for years since I was a kid going through it in 1983- but did not stop due to weather- I love seeing you have fun on the field and I have always found it fun to see the different variations of baseballs that leagues use and I had never seen a Drake ball before! Very cool to learn stuff
What a cool organization everyone seems so nice and cool to be around and it’s awesome to see the young lady playing ball looks like she has a arm rooting for her and the team this year have a good day
@@zackhample I have to say that has to be one of the best views from a stadium I’ve ever seen I could be wrong But wow that’s a prime spot very nice stadium
What a great video Zack! That stadium is so cool... if I lived in New York, I would so love to go there to catch a ball game - nice stadium, great skyline view, Statue of Liberty, how could you go wrong? And that Ferry Hawks shirt is way cool too (fun logo). Thanks Zack.
That stadium is really nice I used to go there alot when they were the Staten Island Yankees in the New York Penn league. I saw Pat Venditte the first ambidextrous pitcher pitch there with my dad back in 2008. I really like your videos you do a awesome job. Keep up the good work.
Zack I really enjoyed watching this video. Your conversation with former Mets Edgardo Alfonso was entertaining. Hitting a baseball is probably the hardest thing to do. You have a very good swing. The Staten Island FerryHawks have a very beautiful stadium. I'm glad they are using that stadium after the Staten Island Yankees left.
I went to a Ferry Hawk a few weeks ago on a Saturday night. It was a fun experience. The only problem was it was a very small crowd. I hope they can increase attendance. It's a great venue. On a side note you should go to a Brooklyn Cyclone game.
It’s great that you did a video at this ballpark. I was outside of it May 1st when I did the 5 boro NYC bike tour - the 40 mile ride ended near this stadium. Ever since I saw it I’ve been wanting to see a game there.
Interesting change of pace video. I was at that ballpark a looooong time ago - back in 2001, the Staten Island Yankees' first season. Don't remember too much about it, though. I do recall one interesting feature - from behind home plate, at least, once you walk through the turnstiles from the street, you're immmediately in the seating area, you don't have to go up escalators or elevators or anything like that to get to the concourse. I'd like to have gone to more games there - I guess I still could - but from where I live, it's a very long trip to Staten Island.
Thanks and yeah, but if I'm filming, there's no pure "enjoyment." I have to be hyper-aware of every single moment and always planning the next thing I'm going to talk about.
I actually got to see Kelsie play in her first game in the ALPB (@ the Charleston Dirty Birds) , met her dad and had a great chat about her love of the game. Even have her signature on the ticket of that game. It's awesome to see!
Great coverage Zack! I went last night and witnessed pretty much every kid (and adult) that wanted a Drake foul ball was able to get one at some point with a little hustle through the bleachers. Such a clean, friendly, and scenic ballpark just steps from the ferry.
Hi zack, This is awesome!!! I loved this! I think that you should come to like a minor league game or Atlantic league game each season!!!! Anyone agree with me???
I'd recommend coming out to see the Kansas City Monarchs of the American Association. They play on the Kansas side of town at Legends Field. Also if you haven't already you should visit the Negro Leagues Museum in downtown Kansas City. Wonderful history there.
Zack you need to go to a Northwoods League game. It is a summer league for college players in the Midwest and the games are a blast. At least the games I have went too in La Crosse Wisconsin you can interact with at least some of the players at all times. Very fun would recommend.
Cool video Zack, really enjoyed that one. You should definitely visit more minor league grounds. Have actually visited Staten Island many years ago while in New York but don't recall there being a ground there.
wow this is crazy Zack! I'm a Lancaster Barnstormers fan which is also in the Atlantic league and it would be awesome if you would stop by soon to watch them play. great video tho.
Hey Zack! I have been there on the boat too! When I was in Maryland I saw the Maryland Blue Crabs Play Against The FerryHawks! Great Content Keep it up! (In Maryland) my brother made it to Regionals
Funny thing is i saw the FerryHawks play yesterday afternoon against our hometown York Revolution. Great game, came down to the bottom of the ninth with one out and the Revolution hit a blooper over the second baseman to win it 6-5.. Great video my man..
@@zackhample I did get one of the game balls too for my son, took my 10 y/o to the game. After pesting the ball boy all game, he hooked us up after the game. We were both wondering what Drake stood for.. Thanks for the info..
Wow nice video and keep up the fantastic work good sir. You even went on the ferry to get to this ballpark? That is a rather unique thing ever if you ask me.
I often film for my high school baseball team(team building practices and such) and at 15:58 I about died laughing because I got flamed for getting a shot like that because I was completely lying on the ground, Fenway Chris put in some work for that shot and from camera man to camera man I wanna say good work!
minor league baseball is fun to watch we had the vermont lake monsters short season single a team they got cut but they got picked up by the Futures Collegiate Baseball League its pretty good too
I walked along the sidewalk that goes right behind the outfield walls about a year ago and I peaked through the fence and that stadium was in horrible condition it’s nice to see the got it looking good again
For every connection Zack has with pro baseball players & personnel in many leagues, there are a 100 haters and trolls out there dying to truly be one of them!
Zack - you really need to go to do a Savannah Bananas game! That team is a viral sensation that has blown up on the internet. Maybe you can go there on the same trip you go to Atlanta.
It was the coolest feeling I got my first homerun ball I was at the grass part of of the Stockton ports stadium and he it to the left and hit a homerun and I got it I was so happy and it made my day i am looking forward to catch more
If only city planners had thought to build a parking garage near the ferry station and built a ballpark for the Dodgers or Giants here. The view is gorgeous.
As an Aberdeen Ironbirds fan, I remember when there were 5-6K at the game. Staten Island should have affiliated ball. That stadium was as empty as when Aberdeen, MD had an Atlantic League team. I would be surprised if the Ferryhawks last five seasons.
This is one of the best channels on I’ve seen on UA-cam. I always get blown away when you get to be on the field with the players. Great video Zach
Thanks so much!
Wow, I love when the players say they are a fan of you and your videos Zack! Means you are doing the right thing, keep it up!
Thank you! I love it too.
@@zackhample hi
One of your best videos ever. I for one would like to see more independent league videos like this from you. Take care.

Aww, you are very welcome! Thanks as always for watching, RJ.
It's one of the 5 boroughs.
I like the different videos its nice to see other teams/leagues associated with the game we love. Keep it up!
Its amazing how cool this organization, amazing how cool everybody was especially the person responsible to make this happen
A nice refreshing change of scenery from the perpetual buzz of major league stadiums. From hitting to fielding, you looked good out there!
Thank you!!

Thanks so much! Glad you learned something and I appreciate the compliment.
They used to be the SI Yankees. Then briefly the SI Pizza Rats.
You are the best MLB vlogger! Your content is always fun to watch! Hope you are having a good day!
Great video from Staten Island, Zack, with you interacting with Edgardo Alfonzo and Kelsie Whitmore. Thanks for explaining about the Drake baseballs.
Great experience and different view. Thanks for the trip to Staten Island.

That infield turf is so neat too.
As always solid video!

Great video! I like Edgardo Alfonzo back in his MLB days. His swing was very similar to Edgar Martinez.
Great to see how it all begins at the Minor League level. No egos, just the love of the game.

That has to be one of the BEST outfield views in MLB! Our Aberdeen Iron Birds park looks pretty much the same except our outfield looks over I-95.
Great video as always, Zack. As good (or better) than your Major League entries. Kelsie is a hero to so many girls and young women!
