It would have been worth mentioning that the toggle gear switches can be used in auto mode to overide the pre-selected auto gear. Say if you want to make a quick overtake when in auto, just press "-" to select a lower gear, the dct will then hold that selected gear allowing the maneuver until the revs drop again, and then it will revert back to auto mode. Clever stuff. I have dct on my nc700x, and have found that's the best way to use it.
I'd never driven an automatic bike before, but my wife surprised me with a 2019 Africa Twin DCT. I thought it would be a nightmare to get used to ( no clutch or foot shifter), but I took to it almost immediately. After having almost 2000 miles on the odometer, I can honestly say I will never own another bike unless it's a newer model Africa Twin DCT. It's the perfect blend of motorcycle, dirt bike and crotch rocket. I couldn't be more impressed.
Could you delve a little deeper into the S levels, the ABS and G..gravel button? About as good an explanation as I've seen so far and I will try and ride them back to back before making a choice. Great vid and good luck
Good vid. I own one and love it. On the few frustrating occasions I've had, all were street use only. Worked great off-road, (As well as any 240k Water Buffalo could), and better than alot of my fellow's bikes.
its way to far out to mistake, such a long reach your reasoning would kick in and you'd stop before ever engaging it. I amputated mine a bit just to be sure and for putting cold weather bar covers on as well. but it's not a factor, never heard of anyone else doing it either.
most if not all DCT owners would not agree. and many like myself who never thought they'd give up shifting. There are many bikes I've wanted to add and didn't bc I'd miss the DCT. ride one a week intensively before you say. I've literally never heard one person say they regretted the DCT, you can still shift manually, just a lot easier with your finger/ thumb.

Thank you for your expertise... Great DCT
Finally, I understood how dct works
How do you rev bomb
how do you get the bike back to neutral "N" ,?
So basically, we can shift down and up gear without: clutching and releasing throttle?
What if you squeeze the left lever out of habit while riding, will the parking brake engage or is it idiot-proof?

Can you ride automatic with the sport mode on?
The sport mode is an automatic mode. Like the D or drive mode. Greetings from Germany
Thanks for that really helpful
Need it in more countries
Nice one!
put the sound up ,
CAN NOT HEAR YOU !!!! CHECK YOU AUDIO !!!!
Cannot hear a thing...
There is no need to necessarily go on Manual . You can still shift up and down whilst in Automatic mode. That's an important miss in this report.
Please buy a clip on mic
Manual is better
