Hooray! A new video finally!
I recorded the audio afterwards, and I’m afraid I Ummend and mumbled my way through much of this …ugh… but I’ve been promising a video for awhile, so here’s one with rambling audio. 🤫🙃
Scented in a blend of After the Rain, Birchwood Oud (From @Brambleberry) and Mahogany Teakwood. I wanted this to have a damp, woodsy smell, to give a sense of being deep in the forest.
(Yes, doing the math on all those usage rates gave me a headache, but it was worth it. )
This isn’t my normal lighthearted soap, it explores more of my morbid creative side, and the way that life is all interconnected.
Mushrooms and fungi in general are such amazing organism’s, and such a needed part of life on our world.
And yes, I know that this isn’t the way this species of mushroom grows (on the side of a log) but I had made the soap dough mushrooms before I realized that I wouldn’ t be able to display them easily. Soooo. This is what i came up with. 😅
I promise I will make more that are more appropriate to the side of a tree like Chicken or the Woods or Turkey Tail.

Mushrooms are made mostly with Socery Soap Dough Trial by Fire Red. I added the spots after with white soap I mixed after I made the soap, and decorated the few extras I had left over.

The titanium dioxide is from Brambleberry, as I like their oil soluble one the best!
Please note, if you are new to cold process soap making, do as I say and not as I do.
You should always soap in long sleeves and with full protective gear! Lye is dangerous, as it is hot soap!

This is a super cute soapy log. Artistic license is a wonderful thing, any type of mushroom 🍄 or toadstools can grow anywhere and in any style.

Hey there! Gorgeous soap as usual 😍. I’ve been contemplating getting a couple pairs of the gorgeous Farmer’s Defense sleeves you wear in your videos. Can you tell me if you sized up or down or if they are pretty true to size? I worry that they’ll either be too tight and the elastic band will dig or be too loose and slide down. I’m sort of in between sizes. What size did you go with? Thanks.
I like the L/XL personally. I don’t think my arms are that ‘big’ but the smaller sizes were tighter then I liked and I was too aware of them for comfort. I Love my sleeves through. I have oddles and am always so excited to see new designs come out!

I've found that in my area, the cold dry northern world, NaCl works better than sodium lactate. Or maybe it's my recipe. Or maybe I'm crazy. But, I have this chef like feeling when I use table salt in my soap 🤣🤣
I truly believe it can be recipe dependent too. Mine like SL, and works well with it, others don’t like it as much… salt doesn’t give me the mold release I need when I tried it before, but maybe I should try again. 🧐 It would be much more cost effective!
That's very true. Maybe different kinds of salt work better too. Like kosher might work better than iodized, or even non iodized salt. Kosher has an anti caking agent so that might be helpful to some point.

@@CheekyGoatSoapery Himalayan pink salt makes a really nice bar too. I made a salt bar awhile ago and omg it was fantastic. It had a creamy lather instead of a huge bubbly one. It does need to sit in the mold a few more days because of salt being a humectant. I put 4 cups of pink salt into one of those 2lb loaf molds from amazon. Amazing.
