They make the 15000 and 16000 hone. I need to use on 2.875 inch bores. Seems like I'm right between the two hones they offer. Can you confirm how small of bore this will do? Thanks
I have the 15000. 3 INCH bore is pretty tight. I dont think I could go smaller without wearing down the stones. You can do it, but youd have to cut the stones smaller. Then true them in your bore before boring it.
Do you know if I could take an out of round bore and work it to be fully round with this? I'm aware this is the completely wrong tool to resize a bore, but I'm wanting to try it just for shits and giggles.
@@GroovesAndLands That comment may have been slightly misleading. I want to put in oversized pistons and no machine shop will touch my block. If I run this for possibly hours, it'll stay round? Lol
@@joblessalex Yes, with good technique. You should buy an old junk block (should be really cheap) and practice awhile to get the feel of it. You can induce a lot of taper with poor technique. However, it's actually pretty hard to create out-of-round. But don't misunderstand - you can absolutely destroy a block using one of these wrong. That said, with some practice and technique you can do a beautiful job with one. Watch this series for more info: ua-cam.com/video/bWq48EHNFuU/v-deo.html
NO it not design for that , ul have to bore the cylinder out first with a boring lathe, then use the hone for cross hatching the cyclinder, which is a hone intended use.
Nice tutorial demonstration. I initially thought that all 4 were stones, then realized 2 opposite were felt wipers. What do you think of using all 4 as stones? Wouldn't that hold the hone true and provide twice the cutting ? I have seen in one video the guy ran 4 stones. Traditionally I have used the standard 3 stone hone but thought to give this one a try. Thanks.
Haha I was wondering were ya went, we need our daily cat:p haha I'm just kidding we all wouldn't mind if ya took some time off your doing a awesome job with this channel
Wow! .060" , that's alot! I had a hard time getting .25.mm, (0.010), that chromoly is tuff!, I used a 3 stone that is why I am here. I would try to keep honing to 10 th or under is my experience, for your sanity, ah ha.😄 (for 60 th have it bored to 55 and hone the last 5 th, would be doable). To get your cross hatch pattern and clean it up, remove any highs or burrs etc.
I seen one guy said buy the u.s.a, but he did not say why. I suppose possibly better q,c. Better tolerances, and materials, maybe someone else with experience could comment.
im an ASE certified master tech , with L1 !. this hone is for machinist setting it in a rig ,its a waste of time and money using it in a typical mechanic situation, use a normal spring loaded hone with a hand held drill, give you just as good or better result! dont waste time using this type hone, it for a professional machine shop application, it has to be centered perfectly!
Spring hones and ball hones make the bore look good. Rigid type hones can be used with a hand drill and certainly can make strait and round cylinders. Your statement is wrong. Sorry

In case anyone reads this, they have smaller stones for under 3" part numbers - 15680
15690 *15740 15700
What grit at the honing stones you would use?
Just wondering if this tool would correct any taper ?
Yes, provided your technique is good.
is that just good to smoot cylinder or i can use it to put oversyze piston on it
great video! can it be used with oil if we want to use some kind of lub?
yes

It will. Used properly, this tool can create a bore with less than 0.0005" taper and out-of-round

What’s the reason they won’t touch it?
@@daleolson3506 Their machine doesn't go small enough for my tiny little block.
Does that thing have 4 stones on it? or are there two that are felt wipers? can they be used with 4 stones?
Yeah this is the Lyle model 2 stones to felt wipers although yes I believe you can swap the wipers for stones
@@CatusMaximus Okay. Thanks so much for the reply. : )
it fit 50mm to 65 mm?
Can be used with sunnen homes? They are similar
Maybe I believe this unit was made by Lisle
No. The stones and shoes are completely different. The Sunnen micro adjust hone is a way better tool though. I have one of each.
What is the case made of?
How can i get this tool mostly for motorcycles , the bore is (45-55)mm
I believe the model 16000 is for smaller bores.
Check me on that.
Will this bore out a cylinder enough to add a sleve

Hi how can I get one?
Fantastic detail. Thanks!
I used a identical one to bore out a four wheeler sleeve sixty thousands lol. Not fun

I want the hone. How
unless youre a machinist , with a lathe ,, its useless use the normal spring loaded hone, they are cheaper and do a very good job in skilled hands!
Who is this hone manufactured by please ?
lisle
If you still need it, look up Lisle 15000, I just got mine from Amazon today.
you don't actually show you using it ?!!?!?
I know they are honing tools.

How much

50mm kitne ka hai
At home looks like it's a micro home meant to be put on either a press or a end Mill. Designed to be used right after over boring new cylinder bores.
Thanks cool video
Thank you
I see these 15000"s for sale saying MADE IN USA and also MADE IN CHINA... does anyone know what the deal is, 2 different items, or "used"to be USA?
I seen one guy said buy the u.s.a, but he did not say why. I suppose possibly better q,c.

China ones are junk counterfits
They are very effective at screwing up cylinders when the shitty stones come apart because they built like trash.
