I wish there was a cutscene percent or something where you had to get the full prisoner's story. Then we'd have at least one speedrun with the full vision.
Its some sort of glitch where after the sun panels open, the stranger moves, sending the ship into a loading zone. There is a tutorial video called lucid dreaming in outer wilds on youtube.
how does the strager part of the run work? are you unloading and loading specific parts of the strager with your scout? or is it something completely different? I'm just curious cause its super interesting watching you phase thru different parts of it and ending up at places that look different that normal? idk how to describe it but it would be pretty cool if u could explain it :D
In several of the locations in the stranger, gorge being the only useful one right now, you can put it in a deloaded state by entering it, launching the scout, leaving and reentering, then recalling the scout. You see me do this when I leave the damaged lab. We don't really know why or how this works, but it puts the area in a state where launching the scout loads everything normally, and recalling the scout deloads the collision on a lot of surfaces.
This might be the most complicated game to speedrun. It's entirely based on time, so the routes have to be insanely precise. (I don't speedrun so I wouldn't know, though.)
I think it should be all predictable. I'm not sure if that's true or not, but from what I heard, you can damage Brittle Hollow's surface with your ship by hitting it hard enough, making it fall sooner.
whats your favorite part when doing a speedrun, like what loop is your fav what planet what split? just curious cause these runs are so cool and impressive
I didn't know when I first started watching the run and I also didn't know the guidelines for 100% categories yet, but I somehow correctly guessed that the language you were playing in was Turkish without knowing; I was like in my head "Is that Turkish...?" and then what do you know!
The dream world is loaded into the solar system while you're in it, with the stranger positioned above it. By placing the ship in a specific spot on the edge of the cloaking field, it will start being pulled in by the sun's gravity once the stranger starts moving away from the sun (around 7 minutes in). Since the dream world is loaded in when this happens, it falls into the dream world.
@@ptminsker how do you know exactly where Everytime? Just practice? cause the stranger is spinning isn’t it ? Also i know IM asking a lot of questions but is there any way to get outside the simulation without the ship and suit? Or is it considered an exploit
I mentioned the possibility of doing a 100% run to tomatoanus after the any% vid and he seemed open to the idea. No idea on if that will happen beyond that.
Russian is the fastest language for Nomai text translation, Japanese is one of the slowest. At the time that I did this run, I believed that Turkish was fastest for the Giant's Deep and Brittle Hollow loops, Russian was fastest for the following three loops, and Polish was the fastest for the last loop. However after doing more timing, I discovered that Russian is in fact the fastest for all loops.
Not sure how you'd accomplish 1. Meeting the prisoner 2. Meeting solanum and 3. Doing the whole ATP>Vessel trip in one 22 min loop but speedrunners are insane so who knows. Idk all the requirements to meet the prisoner tho, maybe it isn't as complicated/time consuming as it always seems when I watch ppl do it.
You'd need to use a glitch for the Stranger at some point (with minimal spoiling - you can no longer return to your ship after using the intended solutions), but you have time otherwise.
Can you connect a controller and use it only for this section? Another Q- why do you go to the Nomai Ship 2 times in the run? First in Dark Bramble split and second in the end of the game, if you'll go only in the end of the game maybe you can save time?
@@shamal2351 you can but it doesn't really do much, you only have the engines for a couple seconds and one notch of thrust doesn't give you much speed. Regarding going to the vessel twice, you have to slot the broken warp core in for a log, and you can't do that when you're holding the normal warp core, and there's no place where you can put it down.
Ohh I see, and there is no way to remove it midair or grab something else I emagine right? like leaving it on our ship floor before goin out and then return to take it
I'm sorry if this question sounds stupid, but why is the timer off on menu screen and while sleeping ? I'm not very aware about speedrunning, but when I look at some, timer is always running until the run ends The run is very impressing though !
In order to get all the logs from Gabbro you need to be in the third loop or later, due to their dialogue changing during the first three loops. Since quitting out doesn't affect the loop counter, we have to die to reach the third loop. And the quickest way to do that is just jumping in the fire.
Because it's a 100% Base+DLC speedrun, which requires filling out the entire ship log before beating the game. If I just went straight for the warp core and to the vessel, it wouuld be an Any% speedrun, which is a different category.
"Ah, the wonderous dream realm of the owlk people, what a sight to behold! Time to appreciate it from my spaceship."
Very impressive run. Still crazy to see those strats, especially at the stranger

Putting the artifact on the boat was cool af
18:28 no way XD
Speedrunning in this game is crazy.
Having just beat the DLC myself, seeing you absolutely demolish it like that made my entire jaw drop.
1:00 When you get up too quickly and start feeling light-headed
It gets better and better. What a run!
It's funny how the tutorial (0g cave) is the last thing in the speedrun route. (Before the ending.)
MC when they’ve been through way too many loops and have studied every atom of their solar system
When ptminsker says "decent enough run" you know you're in for some insanity
This is ridiculous but well done lol how the hell did you get the spaceship into the dream on the stranger? Lol

This is just an incredible feat of skill. Bravo!

All speedrun are based on time in essence so not really. The more tasks you have, the more complicated it is that's it
I just thought of something, do you ever get somewhere on Brittle Hollow in a speedrun, and discover that it's already fallen into the black hole?
I think it should be all predictable.

How does all the phasing through everything work on the Stranger? I literally can't tell what's going on, it's so fast :D
5:56 what was that black screen?
That was me quickly opening and closing the map to get the tractor beam to disappear so I could reach the ground faster.
Amazing, do you think sub 1h is possible?
No, at least not without some new tricks.
also, how is your ship in the dream part- or like where u sleep and it takes u to the owlks simulation thing how is that there

few questions:
1. why turkish?
2. why the swap to russian halfway through?
3. if the language choice is for text scroll speed, why not japanese?

Why do you shut off your ship engines completely to evade the angler fish when you can have them on 20% without making any noise?
You can only do that when using controller, I use mouse and keyboard.

The speed of those sections are different depending on hardware, so the timer is paused for the purpose of fairness.
