Professor E Gadd has found the source of the Spider infestation a cellar deep underneath Gloomy Manor, it turns out one of the dangerous possessor ghosts have caused the Spider Queen to go on a rampage at her own accord.
Luigi zaps the Grouchy Possessor, captures him and sends him to the Poltergust prison, with him no more the second Dark Moon piece is collected and the Spider Queen is free to leave with her little ones.
