Awesome vid, I bought ARMA 3 Apex in the black friday sales, can't wait to start modding, you cover a ton of detail in this vid mainly avoiding all the issues I would have if I was trial and erroring my way through the process. Hope you get back to modding and do some more ;)
Jeremy, thank you for this tut. It has helped me understand this much more clearly. One thing I am having trouble with is how to do the UV map and getting my textures onto my object and converting everything correctly. Is it possible for you to make a vid on UV mapping and texturing from start to finish..? :)
Please make a video about turelli, they are guns.There was a problem doing two vievgunner cameras, then the turret moves to the right, to the left, but there is no longer up, everything is separately called otohlavne on the barrel itself and otvez on the turret itself, the turret itself shoots normally the problem with the camera in the game the cross does not move only works if I use one camera either up osahlavne or right, left. Everyone may have a problem and yes, if it's not difficult, make a video of how to make breaking glass on the model.
I've a little problem... When I want to apply my textures, I've nothing in the bulldozer, just the car I want to texture but without textures... The fact is that I don't really know how to configure my Arma Object Builder, I don't know where I need to put my folder textures ... Can you help me ? Sorry for my English, I'm a french guy :p
sorry i did not. i would have however the model itself on this tutorial was not mine, it was purchased by the team i was working with at the time. It has been a while since i have done anything for modeling or modding, i've been to busy with life. I did intend to come back and do another one with one of my own models start to finish very soon (much smaller then my apartment building build) now that life has slowed downed, then my cat pissed on top of my computer, it went through the top vent and destroyed my 259$ video card. at least i hope it is only the card. Hopefully i will magically stumble across some money to replace it soone before life starts kicking me in the balls again.
Just a inbetween guess: You can create a lod based group in max and export it as an fbx. Thanks for this, I've been looking for a decent tutorial with max in mind. Is it possible to just use a dummy helper object as a memory point? Or must it be a vertices? I've seen people in other tutorials just use a single vertices from a spline line.
sorry for the late replay, i remember trying dummy helpers, splines and just single verts but i could not get any of those to import into object builder correctly. however there is an arma tools plug in i wasnt using at the time that may let you
if i remember right if you have arma 3 downloaded there should be a place in your steam library to download toolkits or something. Sorry i can't be more specific i just got my computer back and it has been a while. Im working on loading up steam now.
the model in the video was purchased by someone on my team at the time. I used it for the tutorial because it was fairly simple one. I do have other videos/tutorials of me creating my own buildings and such but they are lengthy. when i recorded those i wasn't really doing it as a tutorial but just as work documentation with commentary so keep that in mind if you go to watch them.

it is part of the arma modding toolkit
