Insane Vintage LEGO Haul!

- Brick world Chicago 2024 has come and gone. As with every LEGO convention I bought a TON of vintage Castle, pirates and Space. So lets dive into this years LEGO Haul!
Thanks to @coolguydom02, @CheeseyStudios, @firebirdbricks @EpikBricks, and @podbricks for helping me acquire some of the awesome sets and figs that I picked up during Chicago!

god that chess set is such a white whale for me but just wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too expensive for me to ever justify buying it

Sike I guess “sealed” is most expensive but I’ll definitely still try and pick up a “used” if I can.
I'm gonna have to go with "Blizzard Barron." I had that one as a 4 year old, long before LEGO Star Wars was a thing. It was my childhood snowspeeder.

Since you're so well versed in Lego Castle sets and factions, have you given thought to using known factions to build armies for the Harry Potter Founders and Voldemort? And included magical creatures to in a LOTR style epic fight? It's one thing I've noticed about Lego channels, that there isn't much blending. Oh sure there's customization and OC's, but to take classic castle and HP and put them into one? Haven't seen it and would love to.
You up for the challenge? I think you could.
That imperial boat is one of my most prized possessions, my grandmother got it for me the year it came out as a Christmas gift and it was the biggest lego I had at the time. Nice haul man!

There are two of those chess sets on Bricklink for 3500-5000$. It cost 200$ when it first released according to Brickset and was probably discounted to 150 at some point.
The price he was talking about was under the brick link price guide
Yeah it was an era before AFOLs would regularly spend $500 on a set. I remember when the Medieval Market Village was revealed and people thought a £80 set was a big stretch... So I don't think many people would have been spending £200 on a chess set that was basically a enormous battle pack.

You can definitely see the influence of the old Ninja sets in modern Ninjago. I actually find Ninjago surprisingly effective for Castle/fantasy material, if you use it right.
As for your final question, I can't even say what was the best pickup - they're all so cool. One of the things that most caught my attention was the Knights Kingdom II minifigure. I don't own any of the heroes from that line and really want to; I've found thrm surprisingly hard to track down in Australia.
I wouldn’t say ninjago took a lot of inspiration from ninja. I would more say they took a lot of inspiration from real life Japanese architecture.
it is pronounced (at least i think) "king KAH-HOO-KA" from king kahuka EDIT: THAT SIEGE TOWER ROOK IS SOO CUTE!!!

Mtron was may favorite Space faction as a kid, but for some reason I only have one set of it-so I like your M-tron set!

Well crap. I always wondered why that chest set was so stupidly expensive. Now I know. THAT PACKAGE! THE QUAILTY! THE EXCLUSIVE MINIFGURE! SO MUCH WOW
Actually all the figures in it can be found in other sets! Like some of the combinations of parts are unique in this set but all can be found in other fantasy era sets!
Nice grabs from Chicago I myself have those 90's Castle and Space sets but those Shell sets are rare I don't ever remember seeing them. I don't have that amazing massive chest but I got the huge instruction booklet that comes with it and 92% of the minifigs from that set, just missing a few orcs and 1 dwarf.

I'm just curious do you tear apart your sets like cheesy studios???? Also got to love the classic pirate ships, I personally own the Caribbean clipper and 1989 black seas barracuda and cant wait for a fright knights video.
I will take them apart but keep the peices together but usually it’s only a set here and there that I take apart for parts. But nothing castle or space.

Yo, I actually have the Lewa, and the Kopaka, but I'm missing the mask for Kopaka, so I ordered it on Bricklink along with the original Gali, as I think Gali looks the coolest. Btw awesome finds dude!

Usaully $1500 but the guy was selling it for $1200
@@BrickingUpBrad EEsh ... that's a lot. At least it's not as expensvie as the Black Knights Castle.
One of these days I will have to get my hands on all these ultra expensive old sets.... but it's such a bad deal to pay 1000+ for a set that's not even half the size of a good 400 dollar castle that they release now xD ... I hate lego so much when they can't be bothered to release good "recent" stuff ...
